Great Video! How do I dye my soft top roof?
Thanks, I have made a video on how to dye roof headliner if that helps, it's linked here th-cam.com/video/cYkRXgcljIQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=i_j083Y8qY4I2r_F
I don’t think this looks good when so low
That's fair enough it is very much a personal preference for sure
@ tastes differ
Wanting to do dome stuff to mine as well .. try some satin black spray paint
Yeah I was thinking that for the black plastics
@@hudsons_autohaus in the old days of valeting cars we would paint parcel shelves to re color them if faded would work well
I did notice in the video that you didn’t carry out rear ABS wiring harness relocation that you must do when running Lows to avoid the wiring getting chopped in half. Also you need to chop the rear upper bump stop when using Lows as it will bottom out hitting the stops
Yep, I realised just after I had done it that I needed to relocate and cut down bump stops, thanks for pointing it out too it can easily catch people out
terrible idea, who would want to make a van less practical? I have a T.6.1 4motion camper, here in Europe we only see UK vans lowered and it is a laughing matter but i guess for you guys a van is probably a status affirmation tool or something. If you use a van for van things don't lower it, if you want better fast road ability just put some proper Arbs, 17 wheels with proper load rating and enjoy
It definitely is a uk thing running a low van but personally I love how it looks, that is the main reason for doing it, I have done about 6k miles in it since lowering and it feels mint so far and it’s been all over Europe. Its all personal preference
love the music , takes me back to the junglist days..
Can’t beat abit of jungle
Nice work on the van. The price so far is about right for the age and what you've done I think. Getting a tailgate conversion... I'm not sure I'd bother but I guess you are gonna be stood there cleaning your bike etc so a rigid shelter would be good. I think I'd probably get an awning rail for the side door and a canopy perhaps. Keep the vids comin. Nice channel. p.s. If you haven't already, join T6forum for any help, you'd be very welcome
Thankyou for the comments much appreciated, tailgate is for the fixed cover really as often working on the bike in the back too. I have one of the universal awning rails fitted, forgot to mention that but it can get annoying taking the awning in and out sometimes especially if moving around a lot. T6 forum is a great place, already had lots of help from everyone there
I’ll be honest it now looks like you’ll hold people up on your way into work it’s so low and it means you’ll have to go over bumps like a tit
They shouldn’t make the speed bumps so big
It’s 100% STUPID.
I think that depends on opinion, I have to say I thought it would be a bad idea before I started but I much prefer driving it now compared to before. And in my opinion it looks 100% better like this than before
have u got link for ur solar panels thxs
This is the one mate uk.renogy.com/200-watt-12-volt-flexible-monocrystalline-solar-panel/?Rng_ads=ec06052d47e3a5c7&kw=&ad=&gr=&ca=20263245721&pl=ga&gclid=CjwKCAjw8fu1BhBsEiwAwDrsjFO_yBRQVOnjhorfFHq0KMdgZxDCqFHrJXNQe7Kf-2l7mzRJuVrnrBoCgOwQAvD_BwE&r_u_id=6818706448&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADAmBUoFqrgYCKPhWtXd1gaYZfULV
Nice job pal
Cheers
Good to see that there is at least some cooling provided by the corrugated van roof. Panel looks expensive.
Hope that panel nevet fails - well stuck!
Yep got to make sure the flexible panels are kept cool, with the wind flow hopefully this should be good.
Suggestion for you - you torqued up your rear damper bolts with the trailing arm in droop, this will put the damper rubbers under undue stress when sat on the wheels. If you re jack up your van, remove rear wheel, jack the trailing arm until you hold the vans weight, then un do the upper and lower damper nuts, and re-torque.
Thankyou very much for this, never would of known, I will sort this asap. Cheers man
I’m on 20s on solows. Did you cut down the rear bump stops and relocate the abs lines in the rear?
Not done that yet, it’s on my list to do before I go to 20s I’ve tested the abs line and doesn’t seem to catch on full compression but definitely still going to relocate it to be on the safe side
Looks nice mate, I have the Komforts but it’s not low enough. Are yours the NSL’s?
Thankyou they are the SoLow LOW, lowest ones they do, they are wound all the way down on the front and a couple of turns off all the way down on the rear
don’t go 20s. Stick to a good 18 and slightly thicker tyre wall. I have the anti roll bars and they make it harsh but goes round corners like a fat sports car. Definitely looks way better. Nice
Thankyou, yeah still very unsure with wheel, had been looking at a few 19s too really can’t decide, thanks for the info on the roll bars, definitely will take some considering
Thanks for this mate, will be very helpful when I try to tackle this
Glad it helped mate, surprisingly ok to do job, I expected it to be a lot harder and more awkward
🤯
😙
Great work harry!
Thanks Dale
For an engineer those drawings are 💩
nice video mate, strip out footage was super helpful for my build. cheers!
Thankyou, Glad it was helpful
Great vid man 👌🏻 Would love to see the video series progress into the final version to help see what layouts work etc.
Thankyou 👍🏻
