That bus was t-boned by a out of control motorcoach back in 2017. 3 people were killed. The motorcoach driver a passenger on 7430 and a pedestrian

it depends on if a bus would require more money to repair than what is worth, and structural damages, electrical problems, and engine/transmission problems are just some of the things that can total a bus pretty quickly. For example 1020 (crashed from a overpass), 673 (burned in a collision with electric bike, and 7430 (recieved damage from a collison with another bus), all have extensive damage that may compromise the structure of the buses, even if fixed, and remedying those issues may require more money than is worth. as for the orions, in additon to already not having support because of the company no longer existing (and making parts increasingly hard to get), they have gone through years of road salt and components will start to wear out more often and require more time and more money to be repaired. on the outside, it may seem wasteful, but some buses are just too far gone to make safe to operate them again.

Yeah, the is a 2000 New Flyer C40LF CNG. Why #902 is still here nearly 12 years after it's kind retired is beyond me (not that I'm complaining. I miss these buses).

NJT gave all of the rejected units (Except 7109, 7115-7116) back to the MTA after they were fully retired on April 17. A few of them went to Spring Creek while the rest are still at Eastchester with their NJT livery being removed.
