NOPE! The main reason is something called Commiefornia and the manufacturer having ti make stuff to their woke emission standards that make zero sense. Literally CO2 accounts for less that half a percent of the air where as nitrogen is 78% and oxygen is 21% and the other 1% includes CO2. It’s just another way for them to screw people and make more money.

The planners of the EV switcheroo are tone-deaf. They do not get that EV's are often 2.5 times the price of an equivalent gasoline powered vehicle. So, maybe I would be interested if the Ford Lightning 4 door costed 26-28 thousand new instead of average 70 thousand dollars, exactly 2.5 x the price of a gas engine 4 door Toyota Tacoma! ( I don't like the Tacoma, but it is competitively priced).....

This is a great replacement for my 2017 Chevy Volt. I've got a Prius Prime on order. Estimated delivery is 12 months. No problem, Chevy Volt battery range hasn't fallen off much and I'm patient.

They did us to sell the Hilux in America then I think in the early 2000s they split it of as a Tacoma an American Hilux if I was in America I'd be more than happy with a Tacoma it's probably a better vehicle

1. Nobody wants to change what already works. Two. Most people aren't super green conscious and forcing them is not going to make them change. Three. There's no infrastructure in the US. Evie's are great for Europe but not for the United States. Hybrid, flexible fuels and electric combined is the perfect answer to give people choice impracticality for the current infrastructure during the sales not coercion with money laundering and government tax subsidies hidden in the background of forced regulation.

EVs are a pump and dump for traders and vested interests. EVERYONE every single engineer who thought this through knew this from the beginning. So a handful of people made money on the ramp up and decline. Bye BYE evs. What a friggin joke, glad i saw it a few years ago. But had to bite my tongue until the middle of last year.

Toyota has 8 manufacturing plants in the US. Would be no problem for Toyota to start making the Hilux here.

Hybrids are definitely the more practical vehicles for colder climates while decreasing the effects of climate change.

i agree Prius is probably best fuel efficient and saving, but downside is insane high price due to toyota greediest dealers. Hyundai elantra hybrid(better than Honda and Corolla on fuel saving) is hybrid closest to Prius in term of fuel efficiency and saving with less price always near MSRP. If you have money, definitely go for Prius.

Well, little story that is well known and common. Me (European) on the road to the Alps in Austria, for Christmas. Audi Quattro TDI, yeah, running on Satan's juice. Well, it is simply the Alps, so weather wasn't that good. Quite a lot of snow. Trucks started sliding, not being able to move, cars crashed. We stood for (5!) hours in a little blizzard. Until the plows cleared the roads. Some EVs ran out of juice while the ICE cars (yeah those) kept idling and than went home for Christmas.......End of story :D

Retail buyers don’t want them because GM and Ford are make terrible EV’s and dealers don’t want them because they make way less money on the post sale servicing.

Ford already announced they are pulling the plug on electric vehicles, ceasing production immediately. GM is basing its hopes on the luxury EV market since it cannot compete in the cheaper market. Good luck with that one!

I want a Hilux. I don't want a Tacoma or a Ranger. They're too big. They're not small sized trucks, they're massive cabs with these tiny beds. I just want a small truck to haul my quad and maybe a teardrop trailer. I don't want a massive pavement princess that's the size of a bus.
