Its usually caused by over watering. Let them dry out a bit and then gently completely remove the top layer of moldy soil and adjust your watering regime. These spores will definately move and if they come in to contact with an unhealthy part of your plant or moisture-trap on your plant then this can cause major problems.

Question ive been putting oatmeal and corn husks and other things in my soil in my potted plant and this white mold is growing under the soil where i burried the above mentioned items in my potted plant is thwt a bad thing should i be worried??

Your growing the only plant that can grow in that soil. Tomatoes will grow in straight sewage. Any other plant would die

Saprophytic fungi produce mycotoxins ... it's toxin producing mold and can make humans very sick if inhaled or touched

It's not harmful this white fungus, just reduce watering, for tomatoes you can't water them from the bottom as tomatoes have two tipes of roots the bottom roots are the one sulking water so its safe to water from the bottom and you will have no gnats as well. You are welcome !

No I would not eat tomato leaves they are poisonous as well as eggplant leaves and also regular potato leaves. You can eat all squash leaves as well as pumpkin leaves they are edible. You can eat any type of cabbage leaf they are edible. You can eat all kale leaves they are edible. You can eat grape leaves they are edible. You can eat fig leaves they are edible. You can eat cucumber leaves they are edible. You can eat sweet peppers or any type of pepper leaves they are edible. But be careful many different types of leaves are indeed poisonous or unhealthy to eat in large quantities. Sometimes it's better to be safe than sorry. And I absolutely agree that we should never waste any type of food. And we are always pruning many of our vegetable leaves as well as our fruit leaves why not eat it right away or even dry them for later. It is better to be prepared especially now with all the things that are going on in America as well as around the world and especially when farmers are having a hard time producing food for the multitude of people in America. It is also a good idea to stock up on your vegetable seeds as well as your survival material and all are your needs and a way to gather rain water. Does this apply to all varieties of beets? I just harvested four of my first batch of beets, but they are not the red even though the seed package says Detroit Dark Red Beets. 😁 Perhaps I pulled them out too soon or maybe I miss labeled them and they are rutabagas.😅

The mold that is growing in my pot is a little bit green and it's not growing on the top it's growing in the inner area of my pot should I be worried or just leave it alone or should I take it out?

I know how to get rid of that and it’s not very good in my opinion but a little copper sulfate mixed in water will kill that in under a second you don’t need a lot though

It made me laugh the recipe was 4 ingredients. But nice meal at the end. This is my conclusion from reading around the subject- tomato leaves are only poisonous in large quantities >a pound but check this yourselves. Also frying doesnt get rid of the alkaloids but boiling does (although this also apparently takes away some of the flavour)
