How do you think Vi got her haircut? Because her hair was actually longer in act 1 and instead of getting longer, it's been cut... but if she were in prison how old she get a haircut? My theory is that one prisoner has snuck in done scissors and cut her hair for her or given her the scissors in exchange for beating up the new prisoner (the one that Caitlyn was originally going to interview) because I don't think that Vi would just randomly beat up a newbie without a proper reason. She probably planned to get out soon and wanted a good haircut to show her sister and probably also gained trust with whoever gave her the scissors or cut her hair. m But it's possible that there wasn't another prisoner who have her a haircut or scissors, and when she beat up the new prisoner it was to defend the tattoo artist. And maybe the artist cut her hair? I don't know, what do you think?

From what I gather from the archives, Vi was extremely violent in prison. She did horrible things to anyone with connection to Silco: though they probably deserved it lol. She pushed one guy off the roof and broke a lot of his bones, nearly killed an enforcer, punched another inmate so hard his eyeball burst from the socket. She did become a bit of a monster in there. But she did what she had to do to survive. She also collected the weapons brought against her by other inmates as trophies. Because of her reputation, she was a huge target for any inmate that wanted to gain clout. Eventually they gave up on trying to “rehabilitate” and threw her into indefinite solitary. She was so violent that the wardens in Stillwater tried to get her transferred out.

That's the problem with being immortal (or semi-immortal) you take time and life for granted. Think you can just wait things out.

Thing is older does not mean wiser..... Experience doesn't truly come bigger with age. It can actually be completely opposite.... As wisdom is not something that is permanent. We mostly remember thing that let us function in our "comfort zone" when over years we often forget many things and experiences from past. This is why high school, or college graduate can be smarter and know more than diplomated professor.

It would be amazing if they make a short video of how the people is treated in still water, like how the prisoners socialized or thing like that so we can have an idea of how Vi's time in prison was. Sorry for my bad English

I'm super excited about seeing how things go with these two. Their philosophies on time are completely at odds, and I think Ekko is going to be a great mentor to Heimer, tbh.

There's no way she went through that place without getting some kind of protection gig. Her skill as a fighter would have been easily noted when she got into her first couple fights with inmates or guards. She probably aligned herself with some group or another in there. The tattoos were probably just a part of being in that gang. The fact that her tattoos are gears/mechanical makes me think that she or someone saw her as a machine. I always felt like the back tattoo kind of represented a disconnect with her humanity. That theme seems to be a real thing intensified by her time in prison. Vi either sees herself as a monster or a machine. To me, that explains the face tattoo. Needs reminding of who she is. Either that, or it was a cruel joke to remind her that she's just a number in there. But the idea of being forcibly face tattooed is just way too dark for me.

Hello, Katie! You made a very interesting video about Vi and Caitlin, which I've watched twice now. Like you and others who have replied to you, I don't have anyone to discuss Violyn with. My husband is a fan of Arcane. In fact, he persuaded me watch the series, because I didn't initially like it. (In res media isn't my favorite way to enter a story, although once I got into Arcane the time skips no longer bothered me.) Although my hubby likes the series almost as much as I do, he wasn't as interested in potential romantic relationships as I was. So, I appreciate your followers diving right in and discussing the complex relationship that Vi and Caitlin formed, which (for the time being) Vi walked away from. Oddly, because Powder/Jinx kidnaps Caitlin, she inadvertently gets them back together for her party. Caitlin spends a significant part of the party out cold after Jinx feigns surrendering to her and then knocks her out; but in the scene on the docks after Jinx has launched her missile, Caitlin and Vi are clinging to one another as the rocket-propelled bomb flies toward Piltover. If Caitlin's mother is killed when the bomb detonates, I've no idea how it will affect the women's relationship in the long run; but I would expect Caitlin to withdraw from Vi (and possibly everyone else) for a time. So many possibilities!

I rewatched Arcane again the other day (yes, mainly for these two) and one scene of theirs I really love (and think isn't talked about enough) is Vi's looks when Cait is talking with Ekko! I'm so glad to see it talked about in this video because, although they have so many other sweet moments, it is basically as you said - you can see Vi realising her feelings for Cait, despite all their differences. I'm glad there's someone as obsessed with them as I am 😅 (Also, omfg yess the knee pats are soo cute, it's such a simple gesture but makes me squeal every time I see them lol)

Heimerndinger is a good character, he's very unique for who he tries to be as a character. I do think he doesn't understand that in order for progress to move forward, he needs to be willing to take action and help progress what's needing to be done. I really like the points you mention aren't just basic as in, "Heim screwed up and he doesn't move on", but actually adding depth and understanding that made me want to continue watching. i actually have an entire headcannon story about what i think happoned to Vi during the timeskip. the problem is, it would take more words than the comment section would allow.

What happened to Vi during prison? she got gayer!

Not only that, but Ekko is some who in theory, mirrors Heimer's wisdom through time. While Heimer ignores small problems, Ekko focuses on them THROUGH his time tech. We havent seen Ekko gain his powers but we don't have to; when fighting against Jinx we realize he remembers each shot she fires and then dodges only the last shot. Ekko finds the small problems and knows that by fixing them, he prevents the big problems. A nod to how he tries and tries again on his fighs going back in time until he finishes the battle. A mirror to Heimer once again, cus ekko literally has all the time in the world, but by his own words 'make every second count' his main focus on using those seconds is empathy. He doesnt only survive for long decades like Heimer, he lives every second of them.

Great video!! Another severely underrated scene/s is at the Tea Party in ep9, Vi (very clearly) was panting and shaking very hard when she thought Caitlyn's head would be on the silver platter and when Jinx shoved Caitlyn to the table Vi tells Jinx to leave Cait out of it (multiple times throughout the scene). When Jinx gives Vi the gun, telling her to 'make her go away', Vi's eyebrows are upturned (which we don't usually see) and she looks at Caitlyn and says she can't do it in a shaky voice. When Jinx took the gun and pointed it to Caitlyn immediately after, she panicked and tried the last resort of leaving Caitlyn behind and running away with Jinx to protect her, knowing Jinx won't shoot when that offer was made. She is very protective of Caitlyn the whole scene, and Cait also can't bring herself to shoot Jinx when Vi says "no, no, no, she's my sister". This is all after their whole 'Oil & Water' scene so it goes to show Vi didn't mean what she said. Also with the last scene being Vi and Caitlyn holding each other, I'm sure we'll get way more Violyn content in S2. Sorry this is so long, I loved all the points you talked about!!! <3

I hope Heimerdinger and ekko find viktor. Them 3 together would be a sight to see.

I'm still kind of on the outside looking in at this franchise, having only seen "Arcane", so take this for what it is... I'm aware that Heimerdinger is still associated with Piltover in the game proper, but I'd really enjoy a version of him that just stayed in Zaun. Working with Ekko, genuinely making life in the undercity better for everyone, putting his experience and curiosity to good material use, and learning that his previous hands-off, willfully blind approach was the wrong one. And it would be a great story of a character who, given the opportunity to go back to a cushy life and do nothing, decides to give that up because his work in Zaun has come to mean too much. He could still be a mad scientist, just one with a very different perspective on the world.

another banger video, i really enjoy your HCs and think they mold in easily to the story. while some are saying she apparently inked herself, i 100% agree that would be impossible with the back tattoo, and that intensity + scale! it definitely seems more like the work of a long-time tattoo artist.

GOD THIS SHOW IS SO GOOD. i can't believe i didn't notice the clock in the end scene and how drastically his body language changes. and you definitely didn't seem like you hated heimerdinger or anything, it's possible to love a character while still acknowledging and discussing their flaws. i'd say flaws and growth make a character all the better and more human. and heimerdinger's arc is something not discussed much, this was a treat

SO happy to find this! first off, can i just say your voice is really relaxing to listen to? also, i really love the way you approached this video - first talking about them and their own individual experiences, and how it shapes them, and then how their relationship progresses. i just finished arcane myself (i know that's very late, but i was in college, give me some slack!) and i also don't nearly have enough people to rave to about it. one thing i brought up somewhere in the comments of another arcane vid: in the scene where caitlyn is talking to ekko (AKA vi falling in love before our eyes), caitlyn's words to ekko are: "i couldn't blame you. but if you keep it, the cycle of violence will never stop." mirroring the advice vander gave her on the bridge, when she was ready to directly attack the topsiders. :'x aaah

I think best show of his failure as leader and wise man was shown in music holl scene: he can't even understand his own consuls wich he interacted every day for many years and see corruption just behind his back. And it perfectly shows again in desmis scene when he asks this people to give up greed and destroy there main sourse of profit.

I found vi simplistic got in jail got beat tried to get out got sent to cell alone. Beat people trying to figure things out. Beating her enemies ect.

After watching so many videos on Vi and Caitlyn's relationship, I didn't think there was much room to add anything that hadn't already been said, but I'm glad you proved me wrong! _Arcane_ as a whole is an absolute masterpiece, but the fact that Vi and Caitlyn are not only good-hearted, strong female characters but also unambiguously into one another is what makes this show truly special for me. I really hope the creators of the show continue to show courage and allow this relationship to grow and fulfill all the promises that were made to us in season 1.

Great video! I love Heimerdinger and how the creators of the show gave him a much deeper role in the story than mere comedy relief. It's amazing to see how each of the main or supporting characters has been thoroughly thought out and is given an opportunity to change, all of this in the course of only nine episodes!

I like this theory in a general sense, but it's completely ignoring the fact that she's one of Vander's kids. There is _no way_ there weren't a significant amount of Vander loyalists in Still Water Hold. Including people who have been there ever since Vander and Silco's first attack, who have only heard second-hand accounts on Vander and Silco's falling out. These people wouldn't know Vi personally, as Vander adopted her only after the attack, but they would know Vander, and later convicts could fill them in on her status. Now, Vi may or may not have sold her body for special treatment at least once, but she almost certainly saw that kind of stuff happening around her - as alluded to by her comment to Cait about offering things others want. I'm guessing multiple events circling that kind of stuff made her realize that if she did it, she'd be far more down doing it with a female inmate rather than a male one. The creators have implied that the world of Arcane doesn't even have the words for gay or straight or lesbian, so how Vi would define her sexuality is anyone's guess. Regardless, even if Vi had been essentially asex her entire life, she has at least a general idea of what a "person who is hot" means, as she can determine Cait to be one. At least some of the inmates who were able to sell their "hotness" share enough similarities with Cait for Vi to make that call. Or she's lying to Cait about her hotness, but I don't think that's the case. But I agree, definitely, that Vi did not tattoo herself. There must've been someone else she trusted enough to make them, but honestly, their relationship could be (or could have been) literally anything. Transactional, ties to Vander, a girlfriend, you name it.

Yes without a doubt this is the best show I've seen...their relationship is captured so well and i know for a fact that arcane presents some of the best female characters written in any piece of media..plus cait has my heart she is oh so goood and your videos are really heartwarming and on point with the analysis just keep posting more arcane stuff please thanks
