initiate your core but making sure your head and arms lead the way. as soon as your board hit the lip of the wave, your head should have turned toward shore, then just as important, get your shoulders turned towards shore. That will initiate the core and help with timing. It happens quickly so in the beginning, don't try any sort of hang time, just connect with the lip, turn your head and get your arms over quickly. Your lower body will follow. And because of the delay in upper to lower body, that will give you a bit of hang time, not much though but enough to know it's a floater. As you get better, you can start trying to delay that action to get more hang time. :)

You need to cutback down towards shore. Keep core tension tight as someone else said. But be planning on sort of “surfing” the floater itself once the wave is broken.

Lean back

Core strength. You have to pivot harder and pull the board back with the same intensity you shove up with. And more practice lol 😎 get it done, son!!! 🏄‍♂️
