@@mikeymads it would be interesting to see the blood pressure and sugar levels etc of the top ten in the competition just to see if there's a correlation between this and immersion longevity.

That sort of research has been done already. Also more and more institutions are interested in such research. I have few books writen by Valerjan Romanovski- main ambasador of this convention who is running his own research as well and publish the results in his books. They are in polish but numbers are universal... I'll try to dig something up for you Paul!

You can, of course, upgrade, depend on your needs, and so many options out there now... I will probably change this one before the summer for something that will remain cold during the warmer months. You're right though, great stuff for beginners:)

It isn't that bad, really ;) but don't start with ice baths, go easy, few seconds of cold shower, start with hands and feet, when you feel comfortable, then go ice bath. Again, start slow, with few seconds. Build it up, you may be surprised that you can't live without it anymore ;)

@@mikeymads when I tried I was about mid 20's now I'm in my 40's and even a cold wind will make me shiver to the point my spine feels like it's going to snap. I'm an Aussie I'll stick with the heat..

Hello mate, I'm 184cm tall and I've gained some weight recently. Still very comfortable to use ;)

Tap water where I live was around 7°C (44°F) in March, which it was when I was recording this video. I didn't measure the exact temp on that day as it wasn't that important to me. With this one bag of ice, I recon it was around 6°C (42.8°F). Keeping it cool during summer was and still is sort of challenge on the other hand. Can't wait for winter to return ;)

@mikeymads ok cool. Yeah my tap water is like 70 degrees haha. I need A LOT of ice and packs

It takes me about 40 minutes, but I guess that will depend on your location ( water pressure, tap, etc.)

@mikeymads I was thinking of saving some of those ice packs you get with these grocery delivery companies. I can imagine you cushion it from below to stop any potential punctures? Is the fabric quite tough?

@YiSLGaming I have a roll of artificial grass layed under just in case, but unless you put it on sharp rocks, the material is strong enough and will not pop. It's really well made, I've been using it daily for more than 6 months now (with few exceptions when I was away from home).

This was and still is one of my main concerns - summer. Living in the UK, normally temperatures are not too high, I say normally as it's so freaking hot recently that I had to designated more space for daily-ice-making-containers in my freezer. I am thinking about an additional freezer just for that purpose. A chest freezer is something I would consider if I had shed or garrage to put it in. Unfortunately, I don't. Anyway, it really is a brilliant way of having an ice bath. Stay "cool" and make sure to subscribe to the channel, I am currently working on a few videos. How to keep water temp low as possible is one of them (considering you don't have a chest freezer ;))

Buy an ice maker. I bought an ice maker that produces 100 pounds of ice a day for $300. Problems solved. It’s only a smallish unit too. 17 inch wide by 32 inch tall The time I spent filling empty containers to make ice for daily plunges was soul destroying lol ice maker was the best option for me

@geraldkelly3538 yeah but then you're still using gallons of water every day, which is expensive where I live. Mine chest freezer has been working out great...always ready whenever I am. No need to chill and fill. Of course do whatever works for you, every one has thier choice of convenience. Cheers

@@mikeymads Thank you 😄 You're right, it's a personal achievement and it feels good to push yourself to do something that uncomfortable and the feeling after few seconds in the cold water and after the bath is so worth it ;) I did some Wim Hof breathing before going in, I think it helped a lot too.

40 minutes is my PB so far. I approach cold exposure exactly the same as any other working out routine, so following this logic, I will be getting better and better ;)
