I just love your work and you’re a great teacher. I just love quinacridone pink, fuchsia or pink opera a lot more than red especially with purple. Your trick on laying a purple to prepare the shade area really is a great help for me and I’ll be trying that for sure.

Winsor Blue has pigment PB 15:3 which is Phthalo Blue Yellow Shade, Winsor Green has pigment PG7 which is Phthalo Green Blue Shade. No? Now they distinguish the shades in the name: Winsor Blue (Green Shade) - PB15:3, Winsor Blue (Red Shade) - PB15 Winsor Green (Blue Shade) - PB7, Winsor Green (Yellow Shade) - PG36 I prefer PB15:3 and PG36

Love your technique for the trees and how easy you made it. I've been working on my trees for several months and they have improved but I do like yours. Also I like the idea of keeping white in the tree. I also like the quote about "leave space for the birds to fly through."

You're actually painting a silver wattle, which have the grey leaves. Golen wattle have green leaves. There are about a 1000 varieties of wattles in Australia.

I just discovered the use of Dorland's Wax Medium to seal my watercolor paintings before viewing this video. I really like it, especially when using my watercolors in non-traditional ways. I do take issue with you in that Dorland's contains mineral spirits, which are toxic to humans, especially if inhaled or swallowed. The label instructs the use of DWM in a well ventilated area and states that it can be buffed after 24 hours, so I assume 24 hours is the dry time. Getting back to toxicity - poisons can enter the body through the skin. While this might not cause the acute symptoms associated with inhalation or ingestion, it is definitely something to be aware of and to take precautions to avoid damage to the neurological system, kidneys and liver, especially with long term use and repeated exposure. I was duped into not wearing gloves the first time I used Dorland's because I couldn't smell it. However, even after washing my hands several times after application, my hands continued to tingle for hours afterwards. I now wear gloves EVERY time I use this product. Be safe and avoid the potential long term health effects of chemical exposure from this product. The packaging does not claim that this product is "non-toxic", it lists precautions. Use them.
