Correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m pretty sure Universal owns the rights for everything “Wicked”. I know they were the main (if not sole) producers when the musical was first being developed. I would love to an OZ land at EPIC, if that were in the cards. Fun fact; A lot of the Elphabas that performed in the USJ abridged production ended up reprising that role for Productions around the globe.

Firstly, Rachel Zegler is adorable! I met her and out of the blue had a lovely geeky theme park chat with her when she came and rode Cosmic. She picked my brain for 5 ish minutes asking all about the ride (asking my favorite song, how many times I’ve rode and if there were any hidden details to be in the look for). Secondly, I have a gut feeling on where in DCA that Coco attraction is going to go. I agree that it’s gonna be along that seaside area, but I think it’s going to take over The Little Mermaid Attraction. It’s a big enough show build for it especially if like Victoria and Nathan think it will be as quick as Rapunzel’s.

Just so you are aware, per the segment on cruises departing from Fort Lauderdale, The Mai Kai has been temporarily closed since the lock-down. It is scheduled to reopen in the Fall. The tiki palace sustained major damage, flooding and roof collapse, but is getting a multimillion dollar restoration and upgrade…

Glad I’m not the only one who can’t get behind the juxtaposition of time periods for the new Potter world. With all of Epic now fully revealed, I can’t help but think that the order in which Universal unveiled the worlds was weird. Am I alone in thinking that? Like I felt it was kind of like a roller coaster in terms of excitement levels. Started off good with Celestial and then Dragons, but fell off with Nintendo (since we already knew everything that was offered), then once again massive excitement for Dark Universe and then Potter ended things off with a whimper. Personally I would have changed the order to Celestral > Nintendo > Potter > Dragons > Dark Universe but who knows, it was probably in a contract somewhere to end with Potter 🫤

Fun episode! I loved hearing everything about Disney Parks in Japan. Definitely don't mind the occasional 3-hour podcast but I'm sure it was tiring!

I loved the Rat Family Vacation Extravaganza! Thank you guys so much for sharing. Disney Sea and TDL, are near the top of my theme park bucket list right after Disney Shanghai and Hong Kong Also solid “Company” reference 😆

This one, maybe more than any other needs to be watched :) Beauty and the Beast: You *dance* through the ride on your cars. It's an amazing experience. Best ride in that park; top ten dark ride ever. Trying to resist the urge to repeatedly comment as I watch since I was just there last year. :)

I’m with Dave on not despising Leto, but understanding why people do. Seeing Tron: Ares regardless, because I love the franchise and would like to see it’s world explored more, so if that means sitting through a Leto leading performance, (𝘴𝘪𝘨𝘩) it’s a price I’m willing to pay. Also a boozy Rat Castle sounds so dangerous…and amazing! (I’m so in!) *proceeds to grab an Orange slush from the France pavilion*

As someone who works Spaceship Earth, Yes! People still don’t know Spaceship Earth is a ride. That and Is this a rollercoaster? Are the two most frequent questions I get all the time about that attraction.

Great podcast as always. Just to add an opinion about the hotel themes, I absolutely love the themed hotels and am really disappointed at everything becoming more "modern". If a Disney Hotel looks like any other hotel, and all you're paying extra for is location, then it's not really worth it for me. I'd love more over-the-top theming among the hotels! That said, I'm fine with the more subtle theming too. The new Polynesian building is looking better than I had originally though it would. Also, you're all really making me wish I could go to Tokyo Disney one day. Everything out of there is sounding amazing.

I’m all for a Dave’s “Listen up Bitches!” Segment. 😂 As for a “Club 33” movie. Is it needed? 100% no. However, I will suffer through it, if and only if we get a Kingdom Keepers movie as it’s basically Nightmare on Elm Street: Dream Warriors mixed with Night at the Museum.

Nathan is right. You can buy a car at Test Track it’s a legitimate dealership. I’ve asked before how many cars they actually sell and it’s more than you would think. Also after hearing all the lawsuits during “rat court” can we get an another ruling and call it “Ratshit”?

Oh Ghost stories. For real, Spaceship Earth is haunted by a ghost named Bernie. He’s a trickster. Like PotC, if you don’t say good night to him during closing track walks, weird things can happen the next day. For instant recently someone forgot to say good night and the next day our Mammoth was MIA. Cosmic Rewind is also haunted (sort of). That one I actually had a hand in, but unfortunately has kind of died off as there are so little of us Opening Team remaining at that attraction.

Oh Kong, how the ape has fallen. Scare actors in the queue haven’t been a thing for a while now. Most of the “boo holes” have been boarded up. And the outdoor section of the ride (my favorite part) is basically a lost effect now (thanks high maintenance cost 😐). 3D was the only good part and now that’s on the chopping block. At least it’s still better than F&F (but that was never a high bar to begin with). Oh well…

Note to self: When visiting the UK replicate a Blue Peter badge for increased amenities 😉

Strong disagree about the purpose of Tom Sawyer Island. It’s fun to walk around and the ONLY place left in Magic Kingdom to find a relatively quiet and relaxing place to sit. Over the years Disney has done a disservice to the park by removing quiet areas.

Hey, I have the same Big Al mug as Nathan!!!!! So excited for Rat Castle in its video era!!!!! Also, Mickey Mouse Revue closed in Tokyo Disneyland in 2009, with it being replaced by Mickeys Philharmagic in 2011. Also also, slight correction on the Indiana Jones bit. Machine Games did not work on the recent doom games, that was idsoftware, which made the original doom games and the recent reinvention of the series. Machine Games was founded in 2009 has worked exclusively on the new Wolfenstein series up until this Indiana Jones game.

Having this on video as well has now led me to listening to this Podcast twice. I like having the video format, but I got so used to listening to Theme Park news/chat on Thursday mornings with Annual Pass that it feels odd to not have that. That actually had me listening to this a few days late but now I’m actually watching it on time. Thanks for always have a refreshing, different view of theme park news. It’s been a pleasure to listen and I look forward to listening and watching going forward.
