Hello, welcome to Johnny's place.
Here you will hear my versions of music from the 50's through the 70's,
and sometimes older than that, from the genres 'oldies', 'country' and 'rock'.
Johnny (that's me) plays all the instruments and does all the singing.
Well, except for collabs, that is!
No backtracks, nor computer-generated stuff.
I do not try to make the songs sound exactly like the originals, I give them my own interpretation and arrangement.
Thanks for stopping in, hope you find songs you enjoy.
PS - I've been playing in public since 1956, mostly drums, but the latter part has been guitar. And singing of course.

Johnny's final Youtube upload
Here's the final upload from me, forever.
It's a song I wrote years ago, remembering the good old days in the bands.
This week I will be 76 years old. I began taking drum lessons 70 years ago. Also, as a young person, I learned accordion, piano, and guitar.
But now I find that I don't have the energy nor enthusiasm to practice my instrumental skills. So, rather than produce uploads with compromises of quality, I have decided it is time to stop recording.
Thanks to all the fans who took time to listen to my songs (since 2008), and thanks for the enthusiastic comments. I don't want to miss anyone, so I won't make a list of names.
Special thanks to my sisters Mary Lynn and Rose Ann for being such wonderful fans.
Also thanks to my wife, Terri, for the Taylor acoustic guitar for my 60th birthday in 2006. It gave me the impetus to play in public again, and to record on TH-cam.
So: from Johnny Singer, Johnny Guitar, Johnny Piano, and Johnny Drummer, best of wishes to all of you. You are all special to the Johnny's.
Thanks for watching!

Hard to find an older song - this is a traditional hiking song. Here's Wikipedia: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Happy_Wanderer The pic is me, I was Smokey Bear for years in the Albuquerque mountain area. I wandered in the woods a lot... I had a lot more hair then too.
I Will Wait For You - my version

"I Will Wait for You" is the English version of "Je ne pourrai jamais vivre sans toi", a song from the French musical The Umbrellas of Cherbourg (Les Parapluies de Cherbourg, 1964)
