Armguard Arrow-Quiver for Horseback Archery 20 years ago ... I was doing some horseback archery back then and did not like a back quiver nor a side quiver ... so I went and made something to fit my needs .... It worked great and has been used extensively back then ... Many years later ... While fumbling through a wooden box the other day .... filled with horse tackle ... old bridles, rusty bits...

This demo video will show how hard or easy it can be to load your horse into a trailer ... I started this colt a couple of weeks ago ... this is his 2nd loading session ... NEVER try to force a horse into a trailer .... NEVER use multiple people, multiple ropes, pain or fear to load your horse into a trailer ... By doing so you will only teach the horse to fear the trailer more and more ... If ...

Tried this with 8 holes around the sides in a ring around the middle and it works great! Any more holes that this outside the middle ring and it does not whistle any more.

Good stuff from the way-back machine - only suggestion is for the handler to get a haircut an lose that pony tail = faster path to respect from the horse. Nobody really respects a guy with girl-cut.

I was a trail guide in the Smokies during high school. One time while trail riding and leading a group, my horse got startled by seeing a saddle pad laying in the trail. She bolted sideways like a snake struck after her. Had I not been paying attention, I would have been dumped. Moral is; horses are herd/prey animals and naturally overly cautious. They assume anything unfamiliar to them will kill them and they react accordingly. Desensitizing them to new things is extremely important to them trusting you and keeping them calm. Then their learning/training can continue.

Excellent photography showing the effect of the force of the string at release on various spined arrows. The reaction of the arrows, of course, is to flex or bend. Unfortunately, the title of your video implies that the flexing is the paradox. It's not. The arrow flexing is a response to archer's paradox. A paradox is a seemingly unexplainable observation contrary to common sense or observable fact. The term archer's paradox was coined back in the late 30s, early 40s when most bows were laminated or self bows of wood, that either didn't have arrow shelves cut into the riser or the shelves were very shallow. Thus, when an arrow was placed on the bow, it pointed way off line. And yet, when shot, it flew true to the target. That was the archer's paradox. How could it fly true to the target when it was pointing off target, and yet observation proved it to be true. We've since learned, of course, that the reason it can/does, is because the arrow (if properly spined) bends around the riser when shot. So, the flexing of the arrow is the explanation of what the arrow does in response to archer''s paradox, it is not the paradox itself. In modern compounds and some traditional bows in which the riser is cut past center, the nocked arrow can be made to align perfectly with the center of the bow, pointing directly at the target. There is no archer's paradox, and yet the arrow does flex when shot.

People have to learn that horses have emotions too and unfortunately some of the ones that they LEARN, not are born with, are disrespect and aggression. I grew up with horses and it’s not easy to train them to be respectful if they have never been taught, but it’s worth it in the end. These people are doing great! There’s a difference between training and overpowering the horses with ropes and a whip. What these people are doing is training. What some are doing on TikTok is overpowering with abuse into forced submission. If a real professional horse trainer hits the horses with a whip they will do it light enough to not hurt them but hard enough to get them to listen depending on the sensitivity of the horse. If someone draws blood, leaves an indent in the skin, not the hair, or does “training” that results in pain then they are being abusive.

If your arrowhead can penetrate that leather shield you used on your bow hand... then a broken arrow can also penetrate it and ruin your bow hand. NEVER intentionally release an arrow that you think might break in your bow.
