My good friend recently had her first child! I wanted to do something special for her family, so I had the idea to write them a lullaby. Monica and I co-wrote the whole thing; The lyrics are almost entirely mine, the musical ideas were developed together fairly evenly, and Monica did most of the final scoring.
From there, we were able to take the spirit of collaboration further and get some of Monica's friends to actually record the instrumental parts (and even produce the final mix!) I had been resigned to having to use MIDI files for the instrumental, so this was a wonderful, unexpected outcome. Thank you Josh and Stephanie!
