Normal infantry shouldn't be doing this drill. The vast majority aren't trained, and that's why many of our young men end up dead. Special forces train this precisely and they do their training on the regular, while regular soldiers do not. If they are going to do this drill then do it right and get them everything they need to master it or change it to something safer.
