เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 11 เม.ย. 2016
I'm Taylor, and with a little help from my del Sol, Summer, I'll document getting my cars into running shape! I'm working to improve my 1994 Honda Civic del Sol, build my Exomotive Exocet, and start to track prep my daily driver NB Miata. Join me as I get my cars back in running order! If I was able to make you laugh at my own expense, feel free to donate to my Patreon! Every bit really helps me keep wrenching on my worthless cars, thanks!

QuickJack 5000 set up
Hello once again, and welcome if you're new! Today I'm setting up my QuickJack 5000, but in theory this should be relevant to the QuickJack 3500 and QuickJack 7000 as well.
After struggling with jacking and mounting the car corner by corner, I finally bit the bullet and ordered something that was going to make my life MUCH easier. So excited to get to use this, and I hope other folks can find my set up method useful!

Exocet Tank Cover Installation
มุมมอง 2.9K2 ปีที่แล้ว
In this video I'm installing the rear fiberglass tank cover on my exomotive exocet! With a lot of trial and error, the miata is slowly starting to look more and more like a complete kit! Please holler with advice on how to better mark those tab locations from within the fiberglass tank, that was a pain and I'm not sure folks with larger hands could get in those nooks and crannies... Awesome Kak...

To everyone I “highlighted” in the vid, I’d say I’m sorry but you know I’d be lying 😂 Had a blast celebrating with friends for the 25th annual Miatas at the Gap event down at the tail of the dragon in Deals Gap. Special thanks to Josh for hosting a record breaker, always appreciate your hard work for this event! Music from www.bensound.com

Exomotive Exocet Dash Pod Install
มุมมอง 9893 ปีที่แล้ว
Whooowee, this one was a doozy! Today the winter soldier and I are working on the Exocet dashpod, and that gel coat/fiberglass combo was tough! I still didn't get this done by the book per se, but that seems to be a common strategy across the board. In this one, I'll show you how I originally attempted to install the Exocet dash pod, and then how I had to go about a secondary route for completi...

So in this video, I tackled the dreaded transmission tunnel, and with those expectations in mind...is wasn't that bad? Good luck, good strategy, or whatever it was, it's here!
2016 ND Mazda Miata Wilwood Powerlite (FM Little Big Brake kit) Brake Pad Replacement
มุมมอง 1.1K3 ปีที่แล้ว
In this video, I was paid a fun visit by my friend who happened to be in need of a brake pad swap before a track day! He's running the caliper swap from Flyin' Miata's "Little Big Brake Kit" conversion, and is replacing his BP-20X street compound pads for BP-40 track compound pads before hitting Road Atlanta! It was great to catch up with you Alex, and thanks for putting up with my obnoxious co...
Exocet Jegs Seat Harness Installation
มุมมอง 1.2K3 ปีที่แล้ว
I refuse to do anything related to bodywork and wiring for as long as possible, so today I'm working on my seat harness! Holler if I'm doing it wrong, for real haha. EDIT: It may not be good to cut the extra slack off, so just roll it together and zip tie any excess on the harness bar.

After a surprise drop of the exhaust, I'm relieved to see (and hear) there are no holes in the muffler/mid-pipe areas after a short stint with the ground. Today I go about replacing the rotten exhaust hangers to get this sitting where it belongs.

Exocet Braided Stainless Steel Fuel Line Connection
มุมมอง 1K4 ปีที่แล้ว
Exocet Braided Stainless Steel Fuel Line Connection
Wow. That's shockingly bad manufacturing on Exocet's part. The tolerance on that tunnel piece is not even close - you could drive a truck through those gaps. Not to mention your using an NA transmission which should fit that shift console/gear shift area without issue, without need to resort to snips! Kudos to you as usual Taylor for your creative skills in getting it assembled.
Kind of surprised you have to hack away at some of those panels. Was that a manufacturing issue or a fitment issue (wiring tray prior to bulkheads)?
I don't get the clutch thing for starting - can't the car be started in neutral with the clutch out? Or does the clutch have to be in whether in gear or in neutral, to start? I notice once she kicked over you let the clutch out, so I'm a little confused. But congrats. This is a great series, and kudos for the great build.
Why do you have to install spacers if you went with new shocks? Couldn't you have just purchased longer shocks from the get-go? What am I missing here?
You had mentioned in the video you could post the dimensioned you used for the brackets. I was wondering if you could give me those dimensions. They don't have to be exact, just something that would give me a ballpark estimate. If you could tell me about how long each piece extends off the frame, that would be great1 Thanks so much!
Very helpful. Appreciate ya
it's been over a year. any progress?
Yeah my motor is just thrashed but this video helped me diagnose that, thank you
Finally! I don’t have to worry about my Miata being stolen. Not like people know how to drive stick but yk a piece of mind
Your next job is to show how to replace rotors. This isn't easy because the front rotors are attached to hubs with five 11mm hex bolts. You will need a pneumatic air tool to separate the rotor from the hub. Ordinary hand tools won't work.
Awesome keep posting
So...wonder why there are no videos of the all wheel drive version...you clearly are doing the procedure on a rwd. Would’ve been nice to know in advance.
I don't think there is a difference. I have a 2012 G37 X and this was exactly how it was on mine. The only difference is I had to bang a rubber mallet on the rotor for 10 minutes to break it free. Edit: I also needed a C clamp to push the brake piston back, mine did not want to slide back on as easily.
Same thing happened to me, i tried asking a guy at 7 eleven to take me to O'Reilly for 10 bucks, dude thought i was homeless, then i remembered that i had a new box of bungy cords in the trunk, screw that guy though
You vid just walked me through fixing mine!!! 😂 Thank you!!! ❤
Video fantastico... Complimemti vivissimi
Great video 👍. Thank you 🙏
Lol I never use my blinker in my BMW M3….but seem to always use it in my w123 Merc 🤔🤣💯
i just have a quick quiestion, does the honda stat fluctuation on gear changes because of the sensor ? i have that problem
any progress? getting close to a year!
Happy New Year! Any chance for new videos in 2024? 🤞
Is the cap vented? Does it spill out when you accelerate with the surge?
Did this throw the engine on or no ?
Just found your channel, Ive been interested in building one of these. But when i find an exocet build channel ive only found one that runs and drives. I hope we get some road or track videos from ya. Keep up the good work!!!
Where do I buy just the cable for a 1992 miata?

Great music, Kate Bush is awesome. Long live the 80s! And have you seen the QuickJack mod of ziptying on 8 wheels, all 5/8 ball bearing wheels. It lets you slide them around really easily. Lots of videos on TH-cam
Cool shirt, but PC master race! Happy gaming!
I have a manual 95 del Sol (with about 250k on it) that makes a whistling noise when "in motion" - most noticable around 15-35 mph. It doesn't matter if the car is on or off, in gear or coasting in neutral, going straight or turning - this high pitch sound is present (interestingly as the car slows down, the pitch also slows down). The brakes, axles, tie rods, ball joints and the rest of the front end - all check out completely fine. In fact, the car drives/handles like new. 5 speed transmission fluid level clean & perfect. Could it be a bad speed sensor causing this noise? BTW, I've taken the car to several repair shops and NO mechanic can figure it out. Help!
There’s a 10mm bolt on the bottom of that window channel…pop it out and you can move the whole channel enough to slip motor behind. Also helps to pull the door speaker out so you can get two hands in there to work
Love the color you chose for the chassis. Im working on my own Exocet right now and I need to feel the vicarious shot of endorphins from seeing you finish yours!!! 😂
cant get over that tank top lmfao so good!! love yr stuff; thx 4 sharing!
Thanks for the "Edit" section!
Thanks for talking through the process. Clear and simple.
Most wouldn’t see the value in posting this . Fixing cars can test your sanity so learning how to be calm and deal with situations is what will get you through it . Just like life .
Cool to watch, Im friends with the guy who made that kit. 🙏🤙
THANK YOU!!! ❤❤❤
Thanks for watching, hope it helped!!
Thank you so much! Keep being a bad b*tch!!!
