it sure will be an interesting 2025 here in Estonia. Thank you for all the content/information you've given this year, it's been great to watch. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year.
NoOoOoOo :'(
Its unfortunate that most Nigerians have tarnished the image of even the good ones. I am a Ghanaian South African living in Estonian and I was surprised to meet a good Nigerian family here in Tallinn. I agree with you that "If you Dont like Estonia - You leave, its that simple" Estonians are the way they are because there is always a story behind every culture and when you get to know that, you understand the behavior, you may not agree with Estonian behavior but you understand why it is what it is.
Pls learn estonian history if you want to understand them better, they are a bit careful around foreigners and it is related to wars and bad stuff in the past.
I'm from Southeast Asia, from a very little known place where there aren't many foreigners and I can 100% relate to what you said about Nigerians. There's this one token Nigerian dude who moved here and he keeps crying and complaining about people here. He's extremely sensitive about everything said on social media. He's lucky all he does is complain in a passive manner. If he even acts a little bossy or crosses the line, he would 100% get lýnchěď by the public here.
@@AR777bomb i have met so many nigerians here who weaponize the racism for not getting a job but compared to asians or russians, they truly do not put the same work energy and discipline into their work. Many have told me “why should i learn estonian? Its such a pointless language” yet cry to everyone why no one wants to be theri friends or why they dont get hired. Every nigerian i’ve had to help others hire, lied how “experienced” they were and straight up DISRESPECTED (called them racist and xenophobic etc) a person when they didnt get hired. Im sure there are very nice ones and ones, who work hard but overall reputation of them isnt good in estonia nor any other country. Majority unfortunately arent learning estonian, are not very hard working people and talk shit about us (but choose to live here). Truth what a lot dont wanna admit or talk about unfortunately
@everythingaboutestonia You've accurately described their behavior. They have this sense of entitlement and this feeling of being targeted. They think the world revolves around them for some reason. These kinds of people are not compatible in a civilized society and should not be allowed to enter into civilized countries. I don't care what anyone says.
Thank you for making this highly informative video. Could you please clarify something for me? When you say "playing online games" may interfere with one's ability to acquire a loan, are you talking about "online games" in the sense of online gambling, or like video games? Or do you mean "games" in the metaphorical sense of being shady / trying to do a scam? Gambling & being shady would make sense as problematic items, but if we're talking about online video games, then I would like to understand why that's seen as a red flag. Thank you.
@@7XxZz7 casino games and online betting is considered high risk behaviour in online gaming. Any online fast money behaviour is risky behaviour for banks. As long you play for money, you will be judged different. Regular online games, what you play without money arent high risk.
@@everythingaboutestonia That makes sense. Thank you.
10 yes time Estonia will be different landscape, look what's happening in Ireland
@@GLITCHDADA if we allow that trash here, we will change. I agree.
You make a lot of good/valid points but.. I'm a foreigner in Estonia and i've been here for quite some time. My experience is that the general attitude from Estonians has changed a lot in the last few years. Estonians were a lot more friendly and open towards foreigners before when i came. I don't know what has caused that change, perhaps it is because of how many "bad" foreigners that has come? My other point is that when I came to Estonia, i was very social, friendly, respectful and helpful. (I'd say generic scandinavian behaviour) I began learning the Estonian language and things felt great but as time went i began noticing that the so called friends that i had was not really friends, I was being used by them. Either for money or for favours. My experience with women has also been bad, there is no loyalty. All these combined has made me anti-social and honestly turned me a bit negative. You'll probably ask me why I'm still in Estonia if my experience is so bad. My answer is: Because I have an Estonian daughter and I don't want to leave her, I want to be in her life. So leaving Estonia is not an option for me. At least not until she's old enough to travel alone to visit etc.
the thing is that a lot of attitude towards the foreigners as a whole, has improved and declined at the same time. i guess it is dependent on where you are from and what kind of "mindset" you preach. attitude specifically towards scandinavians have gotten worse due the simple fact that a lot of scandinavian companies which function in estonia, treat estonian workers like scum (especially finnish and swedish companies). I had first hand experience with working for one swedish company and their HQ treated us like some 3rd world low scum. swedish people in general look at us as european see 3rd world people - lower class than us, less intelligent than us, poorer than us etc. therefore that "less friendly" attitude must come from that perspective. when you are filled with constant frustration and anger, it is hard to point it towards people who deserve it and people end up bleeding on those, who did not do anything but just carry this 1 character in them, which triggers them. from my personal experience out of ALL foreigners i've met, africans in general have treated estonians the worst (either african women legit financially abusing estonian/russian men and women; constantly ensuring that someone at work would get fired over their delusional racism or everything is always - white vs black). i have also experienced it first hand, therefore i have personally distanced myself from a lot of them (i got financially ripped off since my "being friendly estonian" was taken advantage of. when it comes to other people, i have not heard it that often or on that scale. we as estonians currently see what is going on all over europe and what "foreigners" in general do to white people or european natives in general, and this has made us very very distant from everyone. despite the fact that estonians have admired scandinavians for more than 30 years, even they have not learend from the experiences of UK and other countries, yet they treat legit criminal immigrants better than europeans or their own people. therefore estonains are extremely cautious of everyone, no matter how you look like or where yoy come from. i can definitely say that my personal experience has been insanely bad specifically from people outside of europe, which has also caused me to be extremely cautious about them (i am obviously not that friendly with them). and i also have heard it from vaaaaarious of other estonian and russian women (their experiences with men and also foreign female friends). i am sorry that you've experienced it. i hope you'll give us a chance still. i recommend you to be straightforward and just overall blunt about your opinions. we respect it more than someone smiling and later talking shit about us on facebook expat group or in their youtube channel. the fact is that you do not belong to one of that group i talk about. i usually talk about foreigners who are morally corrupt and overall rude/low intelligent people, who straight up choose violence when they wake up from their bed and create deluisonal problems, to satisfy their past experiences. they bleed on people who do not deserve it yet they dont leave either.
@@everythingaboutestonia Thank you for your in-detail response. It does explain a lot. It does confirm a little of what i've felt, that there's a lot more "us vs them" mentality going on. Which is a shame to be honest but at the same understandable considering what you wrote. I do agree with you that the EU in general has failed miserably with immigration. The "open border" policy is ruining a lot. There needs to be stronger restrictions. For example, there's absolutely no reason to take in foreigners from outside the EU that don't actually add unique qualifications in the workforce, Estonians should get those positions instead. As for Scandinavian companies treating people like shit, that actually surprises me since there's such a strong workers unions mentality in Scandinavia. I do believe that Estonian workforce needs to unionize more in order to protect themselves from bad companies.
I love this little country. Almost everything is right. Except the smokers and street spitters.

Informative, thanks dear.
Thanks for the video! Why is rent going to become cheaper in January?
@@webstuffzak no, bills are increasing (vat tax, income tax etc), so theres a possibility that more apartments become available but price will not lower!
@@everythingaboutestonia oh, when you said "a lot of rents will decrease in january" i got happy since I am moving to Estonia soon. I guess you meant increase :(
The income inequality is described by Gini coefficient which varies between 0 (everyone has the same income) and 100 (one person earns everything, the rest earn nothing). Canada has 30, Estonia has 32. BTW in Germany the share of real estate owners is quite low.
When I shop in Montreal stores, I often watch at the country of origin. So far I found nutritional yeast and leather sheath for Finnish-made Rapala filet knife made in Estonia. I wonder whether any Canadian-made goods can be found in Estonian stores? Another curios thing is that mustard in Canadian supermarkets is usually made in USA of Canadian mustard grains.
@@dymytryruban4324 yes you can actually buy. Theres an official estonian store in canada on instagram :) check them out! Estonian food is mostly chemical free and truly homegrown taste.
Barbora is a Slovak version of a feminine name Barbara. Meanwhile Slovakia is Estonia upside down: ethnic Hungarians in Slovakia are akin to ethnic Russians in Estonia.
Another video with good content and opinions that makes sense. It's refreshing to hear.
Just want to let you know that your content is amazing and very informative for us foreigners living in Estonia. I don’t see anyone else on TH-cam making similar content in English. Agree with all the points you mentioned and keep up the great work!!
I heard taking an unemployment fund is highly discouraged for foreigners since it could be considered a burden to the society?
@@raiyanharris1188 its not like unemployment office chooses whom to give what but estonia doesnt have money to support ukraine and others immigrants. So if anyone comes here to gain benefits, they wont get them in a way what allows them to just sit on unemployment benefits.
What do local people think about the current state of the economy? And do you think the job market is improving?
@@raiyanharris1188 its fucked and its getting worse. As long government increases taxes and taxes private sector + salaries, its getting worse. Government loses more money because consumtion lowers so they have to increase more taxes which will decrease the economy even more.
Your views on the use of foreign languages on the work place is interesting; Can you elaborate on that? You compare the ban of the Russian language on the work place (which is logically banned due to the situation), but has nothing to do with other foreigners speaking their mother tongue to communicate internally. Would you ban Greeks in Estonia too if they speak Greek to each other true the speaking system? Or Bulgarians? Or Portuguese,? Because those are foreign languages too..
Are you Russian, right? You omit the part where she talk about the Indians...
@@Helloha2600 the point was that russian herr is not forbidden even during work. You can still speak it and nothing will happen. On the other hand if you speak ofher languages, you will be frowned up and people see it as a problem. Russian is not a foreign language to a lot of people if they are mixed and speak it fluently as a second native language. How many people live here who speak spamish or italian as second language? Hello
I worked in Germany for a year and then I left Germany and came back to my home country. Germany is going through a horrible recession which will last for atleast another 5 years. Production unit of Volkswagen is shut down. Layoffs are happening in Germany and across the world. How is Estonia not affected by this Global phenomenon? Many people are loosing their jobs due to an economic slowdown.
