Good questions. My glue gun is rated at 100 watts. You need to have sufficient heat to make the hot glue (In this case PDR glue) to pernitrate and stick to the walls of the tube. By doing this you force the tube to hold the igniting FP to a point that the central part of the tube fails releasing the pressure. The higher the pressure the louder the (sonic boom). Yes that's what you do with fireworks, you break the sound barrier. As far as the end caps. I've never actually found any after a tube has been exploded. Find small piece of the tube, but not the end caps To answer the question about at what temperature does FP detonate. That depends on several things. Composition makeup, ratios of the FP, mesh/micron size of the composition mix, and the dryness of said composition. But in general, the smaller your FP is the faster it will detonate. @@rickjwilliams honestly I could probably find this information on technical forums. But as you say there is many factors. I know hot glue is employed in many fireworks manufacturing facilities. Still I worry. As we both know 70% German black, Indian black or 3 micron will make great booms. If you have never tried it perhaps put a pile on paper towel and test the explosion. I really think the cardboard tube simply slows it down. Paper towel really was much more destructive. And increased the crack in the boom very sharp complete combustion. Paper caps or molded caps had no affect. They are simply a storage container. IMO.I also diaper method and mixes, no metal. And as a final safety use a ant static spray and in immediate work are a grounding wrist band attached to ground. Maybe paranoid but can’t afford to peel off fingers or worse. A six inch by one inch and 70 grams I think could easily be fatal.

The sole purpose of adding sulfur to any composition is to speed up burn time. Not to make it sensitive. Sulfur for the most part has acid in it. This acid is what makes compounds become sensitive and unstable over time. Thus the reason you do not want to store composition for a long period of time. You can buy sulfur with "low acid" from Rubber Makers Sulfur.

KNO3 is the least powerful of the PYRO family . You can store it, for awhile. But it is generally not a good practice to store any composition for a long periods of time, (1) Composition chemicals will start to decompose after some time (6 months) or more. Therefore this would render said composition either unusable or unstable. This is especially true when sulfur is used in the composition mix. HOPE THIS HELPS! STAY SAFE!

Unfortunately, I can't realistically answer your question because there are many things that come into play when dealing with pyrotechnics. (example) types of chemicals used, purity and dryness of the chemicals. Ratio mix(s) of the composition(s). As far as a good basic mix. This works well. KCLO3 45% / Mg 55% / S 3% Many people misinterpret the use of sulfur. It's only benefit is to speed up the compositions burn rate where Mg is used. When Aluminum is used it slows down the burn rate. Yes, I understand that Europeans have a difficult time getting there hands on certain chemicals. However, you might try to synthesize your own. If not KCLO4 then KCLO3. KCLO3 is pretty easy to make (see my video on this) Hope this helps you! 👍

No your flash was not. Europe is weird. You can buy mine grade safety fuse used by professionals but you can not here. But you can buy all the perchlorate you want. I’ll make you a deal. I will ship you perchlorate bud you’ll ship me monetti time fuse. It has a plastic shell around fuse. Truly underwater type stuff. I think we could make this work. I saw the fuse in sone website in Europe. They would not ship to us though. So I’m all it is a pain in the ass. Let me know if interested.

Much like BaSO4 or BaO4S. Na2S2O8 has a much deeper resonance. Both are toxic and should be handled with safety precautions in mind

Pretty sure it was 67/33 + 10% S of the Sr(NO3)2, which would be 6.7 grams if you made 100 grams. The Idea behind the video was to demonstrate dispersed vs non-dispersed. Not the same as confined.

@@rickjwilliams yeah I knew that already. In fact I use that method when I want to get rid of larger quantities of flash powder. If I have say 3 grams and I don't want it to self confine, I make a long, thin trail of it and light it. It also makes for a really cool effect.
