there is a reason for anonymity it is explained in the big book of alcoholic anonymous
‘Irish ppl like to drink’. REALLY?? So do the Indigenous Ppl,Japanese, Italians, polish, German, French, Greek, Russian, Scottish, English, Black, Latino …. Don’t judge the Irish lady!!!! Alcoholism is a disease.
Thank you so much for being a wonderful role model🥰

Great podcast, I'm on my 3rd episode LOL
This will be my 3rd episode too.. it’s a good podcast I’m glad I stumbled accross it, and it’s so cool listening to the American accent as I’m not used to it, being English 😅 something different, and very very helpful ❤👍🏼
I'm so glad you forgave him. It's healthier for you. But there are two types of people, those who repeat what was done to them and those who don't. He knows what it felt like to be abused... and he still did it to you. It's not a good excuse. Never repeat and always forgive. ❤
Thanks for sharing, Bryan. Such a beautiful story of finding hope in a seemingly hopeless situation. Your courage to share it is truly inspiring.
Yeah we totally believe that
This is why I got sober without AA Nothing but goofballs and pseudoscience
Of all the things that didn’t happen, this didn’t happen the most.
If I'm not mistaken I'm pretty sure this is a rip off from a line in the comedy show "mom" 😂
@@huntermckone8495 it's a rip off of a rip off from a line in the comedy show "mom" from comment on the Internet actually, thank you very much.
Yeah she said that lol
What a great podcast. I relate to just about every single thing you guys said. One thing I would do to keep myself in denial- watch the alcoholism episodes of Intervention- and tell myself “THOSE are the people with the problem.. not me- even tho I drank an entire bottle of straight rum on a nightly basis). I was caught in the death grip of alcoholism. Physically dependent. The morning withdraws were awful and unbearable. So much more to my story. Nine years sober now- but no matter how much time goes by, the problem is always within arms reach. It’s never distanced by time.
Good and healthy for you, that you could forgive! Yet I don’t think that’s a good reason, even as a psychologist I understand the mechanism, why people tend to repeat such behavior. My Problem is: People know that it’s wrong, like e.g. stealing, but they do it anyway (especially) to a child. So in my opinion it’s not an excuse. Apologizing without a change of behavior is manipulation
What a funny intelligent and brave lady 🙂🤣👏🙏
👍🏼👍🏼 good job
Brilliant share thank you ❤
warning signs 😂😂😂
Powerful testimony. Thanks for sharing.
Powerful discussion. Thank you.
My name is pat, and I am an alcoholic, i found this discussion fascinating, and I can agree, whiz, the speakers, topics, and I could identify with all of it. My home group is a morning meeting and we meet six thirty to 7 thirty monday through friday. They are my second family, and it is because of them, and their unconditional love for me that I now have four years continuous sobriety. I have been in the program for 12 years. And I kept scratching my head, why I kept relapsing, and then somebody mentioned, why don't you have a sponsor why haven't you started the steps? And when my life was totally burned to the ground, and I was about to lose my wife of 37 years. That I decided, maybe this was what I needed, so I took the suggestions they were giving me finally and my life today has never been better. Today I have a sponsor and I am a sponsor to a gentleman with nine months behind him, and that eight steps all ready for him. My life continues to get better each and every day and I don't know I know full and well that I have to chase my sobriety with the same zeal that I chased my next drink. Keep up the great work. Your podcast was very informative and congratulations on your sobriety
Just came across this POD. Subbed right after your intro. Sober 34yrs and in AA. Thank you for your service. I'm a alcoholic son of a sober Alcoholic who died with 52 yrs.
20 days of sobriety so far.
For the vast majority, a very high price is paid on our way to recovery. There is just no getting around that! It is ONLY when we have reached the end of our endurance physically, mentally, emotionally, and morally, that we stand any chance of achieving sobriety. The good news, however, is that long term recovery is not only possible, but probable..."IF" we are willing to "live differently". What I think will NOT save me. What I say will NOT save me. It's what I "DO" that determines my fate. We have many sayings in sobriety, a few of them being complete nonsense, but the one I have experienced to be absolutely true is, "Bring the body, and the mind will follow"...or if you prefer, "Get busy livin, or get busy dyin"! ✌❤ Mark
Yes but before you hurt everybody in your life and then when you get sober you want everybody to cannonize you.
@@mcluvin65 Nonsense.
Thank u x
Living sober is like waking up everyday and finding the winning lottery ticket under your pillow. ANYTHING is possible! ✌❤ Mark
ugh me needing to stop smoking
Jesus Christ! I was never that bad but I'm glad I stopped when I did dude.
Love you people. Thanks for sharing. God Bless you both!❤
Thanks for sharing this story
Amazing story, thank you for sharing!
Remember this is someone else projecting how others feel. Not actually people talking about themselves.
No sympathy for him at all.
@SIXPACFISH not sure he looking for sympathy. The whole idea of sharing this stuff is so someone else doesn't have to go through that journey and live like that...
DT'S are no fuckin joke. Glad you're doing ok now brother
Kind of like alphatweaker
Drugs are not the problem. They are a symptom of a much deeper issue.

Good job for caring about your family
4 grams for 100 bucks??? Dang
I wonder what ADD has got to do with it?
When your old boss said "Hey Will, I heard you were a coke head!" Very funny. I commented on the short video already but I'm listening to your whole story now, very sad and very truthful. Very painful. You are inspirational and someone that never quits. Will I wish you the absolute best in life and your recovery, we haven't stayed in touch so I didnt know alot of what happened in the past years but glad to see you looking healthy and doing great. Great story!
Will!!! Best story yet and a great guy, powerful words. There are only a very very small handful of the men that were dope and crack addicts still alive from the 2000s when we all got sober together in SFL. Definitely going to listen to his whole story this weekend ❤
Whats always been crazy is that there seems to be 2 types of crystal meth users. (Context for myself is that I am a crystal meth addict, using for 9 years daily. Last 4 years was approximately 10-14grams a week) there's the binge and bust users and the all day every day user. I fell into the second group, from when I woke up and I'd stop about 2 hours before bed, sleep 5 er 6 hours and repeat. This is my opinion but it sure seems the Binge and busters really are lucky to survive, like not sleeping for days is crazy to me and also the huge ups and downs seem to either be evidence of a predisposition before use or an emergent property of that style of use seems from what ive seen an increase probobility of psychosis in those individuals. Like what I did was crazy, and not healthy obviously by any means. But I've never stayed up longer then maybe 1 morning to the next days mid afternoon and that was like maybe once every couple months but it was typically I stayed up to late with girls and realized work is a few hours away. I'm grateful for my use of just meth and not becoming a polydrug user and my background kept my social circles wide but friend circles small and using hard drugs yourself is frowned on so I didn't have social pressure of anyone to use. Thanks for sharing 👍
Such an inspiration.
“My kindness helped changed the life of another person”. Thanks Amy what a valuable quote!
