Duramax Magnaflow Muffler Comparison.
Just a little fun comparison with a straight pipe and a muffler. I know it's not the most accurate but gives a good idea on how much it changes the exhaust sound. part no 12770

454 with a straight thru muffler dumped before the axle. Wanted to finished with the tail pipe out the rear but old piping was all rotted. Don’t mind the backfire...

Hey man, do you have a bigger tip on it and is it an axel dump or just normal? Ive been trying to get my truck to sound like this for months but i cant seem to get the same sound.
Does it have 4 inch exhaust?
@darebear2438 yeah my truck has a down pipe back 4 inch straight pipe.
Just normal out the back side, no tip. It’s a magnaflow 4 inch with 3 in down pipe from PPE.
@@darebear2438 yea from the down pipe
Sounds mean! All stock?
Yea 100 percent stock. Just exhaust.
@@Dannkyuyup, me next lol
Are these DiMarzio DP127?
Use diesel 911. Works great. And a block heater will start this thing in -30 like it’s a summer day. Like my lb7
wow thats crazyyy
I got a old mim pbass that I lost the neck for, this is pretty tempting to do to it.
Hello there, could I use a part of your video for my cold-starting compilation? of course I put a link to your original video in the description, increasing the original’s popularity too. Thank you for answer in advance :)
Sure no problem.
Less string spacing. Sorry just like with kids fingers
You gotta keep cranking longer then 3 seconds lol
I tried but starter kicks off when it tries to catch. Not me shutting it off.
0:44 There's the ground wire underneath the bridge, which is very important so that it works properly when plugged into the amp.
It's interesting to see that the new neck also has a built in fretboard.
this is seriously not reccomended
Nice video man!
That truck should never be that hard to start unless the fuel had gelled
Turned out my glow plugs are not working the best. The fuel up here never gells. We live in northern Canada. There's no way it would gell. I also use anti gell additive incase as well.
What do you mean it should never be that hard to start. Without good glow plugs any diesel isn’t going to want to start at negative 4
Really? It sounds like a 6.7 Cummins diesel from RAM pickup truck.
That's because it's the same motor! Just detuned
Only time mine ever had a hard time starting was when the injectors were Goin and that was only after driving. cold it'd fire rite up warm it wouldn't fire
I had new injectors, I think my glow plugs never worked.
My 7.3 starts no matter what it's started in -28 just fine not plugged in. Granted it wasn't happy for a few mins but that's normal for desiel
Do a video about it
@@DanielGonzalez-qe9jc why not ill do one when the snow falls
Technically mine always started as well. Lol
thought i had the only 7.3 that started in subzero temps lol
@@DanielGonzalez-qe9jc video was posted a lil while ago
Mine started right up in -4 first turn after sitting all night with a glow plug delete and not plugged in
why would you delete your glow plugs
Deleted your glow plugs??? You’re not supposed to not have glow plugs in your diesel. Without them your diesel will have a really really hard time starting. In fact your diesel won’t even start at all without glow plugs or even run without them.
@@michaellangdonful it will run just fine without them and it won't really have that hard of a time starting. these aren't 7.3 idis
There's no fucking way that would work the 2 things diesel needs is heat and compression take either of them away it won't run doesn't take a rocket scientist
Lol you must be fairly new to diesel 😆😆 you for sure do not need glow plugs to start a diesel unless it’s an old 6.9 or 7.3 idi that is
That was super loud without the headphones😬
She was cold
DanDaMan Now that I have a 5 String Bass I can now cover Orchestral Double Bass parts that go down to Low C.
Schaller
DanDaMan Because the Strings are closer together on a 5 String Bass than they are on a 4 String Bass, I found out it's easier to play with a Pick.
DanDaMan The 5 String Bass has a Low B String which allowed me to play Orchestral Double Bass parts that go down to Low C:th-cam.com/video/oIlkHFFpThU/w-d-xo.html
So you actually had to turn a new 4 string neck into a 5 string neck by adding a 5th hole for the 5th tuning machine. Now you can play Xanny by Billie Eillish on the 5 string Bass, as well as lots of fun songs including those by bands that tune to B Standard.
@UC_W1fLAeivJczLuF_DURN3w So when you turned your 4 String Bass into a 5 String, you had to switch out the neck.
DanDaMan Mite still makes necks, but why did you switch out the neck first?
CircuitsAndStrings 2 Mr Stern because the original neck is a jazz neck which is thinner. So I got the P Bass neck which was thicker. Therefore stronger.
@@Dannkyu Oh yeah, P Bass Necks are thicker which makes them strong enough to upgrade your 4 string Bass into a 5 (or more) String without breaking it. It's the same with Cigar Box Guitars, if you want your 4 String Cigar Box Guitar updated into a 6 String switch out the Neck so that way you don't break it. Also reinforce the box body with extra pieces of wood. Due to the small body it'll sound like an Accordion so therefore it's called a Cigar Box Guitardion. I have a 5 String Electric Bass (J Model) and it allowed me to play Orchestral Bass parts that go down to a Low C.
@@DannkyuThat really little J Neck would've snapped if we added a 5th String to it, so switching to a Stronger larger P Neck is a good idea.
@@Dannkyu So you transferred the Gold tuners to the new neck, and added another hole for the 5th tuner. The fun thing about the 5 String Bass is that Orchestral players often have them cause they can play that Low C. Some will have an extension and others will have the Bass tuned in Fifths.
@@Dannkyu It said Precision Bass on the Headstock but they made a typo, it was supposed to say Jazz Bass.
DanDaMan Glad your Bass didn't break
Yup. Actually still holding up to this day.
@@Dannkyu Ya might wanna put on thinner strings so that way the tension isn't too much. This 4 to 5 string Bass conversion is almost like turning a 4 String Cigar Box Guitar into a 6 String, when you turn a 4 String CBG into a 6 String you'll have to put on the lightest gauge of strings so this way the tension isn't too much.
Well it’s been holding fine all this time and holds the tune. 10 years later 🤷♂️
@@Dannkyu Wow, it's strong
Used a mighty mite neck, don’t know if they still make necks.
DuallyDanny That extra string isn't putting on too much tension cause thinner strings will take off some tension.
Dude, that was awesome!
And plus if you wanted to you could put the original neck and bridge back on and it would be a 4 string again... i think..
Well a 5 String Bass is much more fun to play cause if ya wanna play Orchestral Bass parts on it the Low B string will help you hit that Low C.
True but the 5 String is a bit bigger in versatility plus you can transpose more easily.
And what is the ideal smallest string spacing
How do you measure for correct but width and bridge spacing?
How do you mesure where to drill the 5th hole?
Math
This needed a demo vid :/
A couple questions: 1. Was the new neck the same size or did you have to make the neck pocket bigger and 2 was the bridge the same size as the one before?? I want a 5 string and thought about converting mine
Same size
Excellent job! That blue and gold is beautiful!
damn oO=) that was great!=)
i used a schellar bridge i believe you can get it from warmoth dot com
What exact bridge did you use? Thinking about doing this to my parts P bass...
Nice vid, excellent song choice.. One of my favorites.
How did you know where to put the hole to make the fifth string have the right tension?
It's on that point of the headstock
@zabuza182 do u need to buy a new neck or could u jus replace the nut and the bridge and add another tuner peg??
I am currently working on a 5 conversion myself and if it is a newer neck (and not a super thin one) you can keep the neck. He chose the Scheller bridge because it has the string spacing ability to be able to accommodate the thinner neck profile,
@zabuza182 Im lookign to convert my regular P to a 5 string. what bridge did you use for it?
A Schaller
what is the name of the song?tell me,please
@zabuza182 As soon as I can afford one I will, and I hope I can get a 5-string Jazz Neck on the Aerodyne body..
@Paul777Jr Do it!
beautiful.. I want an Aerodyne Jazz bass and make it a V string =]
It would be cool if they did that on the Fender Aerodyne 4-String Jazz Bass
@zabuza182 I have the exact bass, not converted though
