I have yet to break a rod from catching a fish. But I don’t do back breaking hook sets either.

Way more often than not, that kind of thing happens when the line is way beyond the rod's rated max and the angler sets the drag for the line instead of the rod... The rod is only as good as the person using it and the line you're using looks like about 60# braid on a rod that, very likely, is not rated past 20# line... Duckett's heaviest rods only go to 25...

With the bass that close with your hookset that was basically like high sticking it lol

Most rods break because the graphite is damaged you must have stepped on it previously or hit it on something or done anything to it that would have cracked the graphite

Maybe it ain’t the rod maybe it’s the dumbass operating the rod

I have the same problem twice with ice cranking 7' medium, and I am very upset, I returned to ALL STAR never in 15 years and had problems

Why the braid though 🤔

Mine just broke. Had it 2 years. Bass wasn't even a 1lb.

I have the duckett Ghost XL and just bought the triad. The ghost is EASILY the toughest darn bass rod I've ever bought. I'd buy another in a heartbeat. actually, I probably will. I've caught big bass up to 8lbs on it and it handles big fish VERY well. Even multi species. I've caught 20lb carp and catfish on it as well as bass and even gar. I've dropped it, banged it, scraped trees with it, pulled big fish from under bridges with it, and pulled in pissed off snapping turtles with it. It works a Texas rig as well as it fishes a topwater. Easily one of my most favorite rods of all time. Haven't had an issue yet in 2 years

i use mine constantly and have had it for 3 years and no issues yet. my favorite $100 rod. getting another one soon. i did hear however that the original run of ghost were bad to break but they have definitely fixed that issue. i honestly do not know any fisherman that does not own one.

The ghost series must be trash because I have the micro magic and it's 7 years old and still going strong.

Have a used the duckett ghost rods since they been out have never had one break or fail me and i fish tons of bass tournaments

Look u get a giant bass that close to the bank and it comes towards u it’s gonna break almost any rod my buddy had a lews rod that broke on him cause he boat flipped a 5lber never got one after that but my boat captains got all lews rods and had had em for several years and they still haven’t broke

Duckett rods aren’t trash dumbass I’ve had mine for like 2 years and it still hasn’t broke that’s why you don’t try to flip a big bass on too the bank

Same thing happened to me a few days ago...its due to the duckett ghost having too thin of a blank. The triad and terex are a much better choice for a few more bucks.
