Actually Moab comes from Daw'ida word mwab' which means nephew. Lot was Abraham's nephew and the progenitor of the Moabites (Uganda). I'm sure it does have meaning in kalenjin too. The Daw'ida word for father is also aba/abo and apparently the Daw'ida and kalenjin also share some words linguistically. The kalenjin were the northern kingdom while the Daw'ida were part of the southern kingdom. All Israelite tribes are represented in Kenyan tribes.

@1devoch When you read in context the meaning is to be drawn from the fact that it is Lot who is responsible for the pregnancy of his daughter.Again,remember it is Hebrew language that gives us the basis of any inference we draw.Meaning that 'mwab' which is Dawida has to have an equivalent from Hebrew.For example the name 'Samuel' which clearly says in Scripture that it means for I 'asked from God',the meaning in Kalenjin is easily derived,'Somu or somo' in Kalenjin means 'ask' and El being the name of God which easily forms a connection.

Moreover, these were the names used by the israelites, not those tribes. To Abraham lot's territory was the land of mwab' . And yes, Lot's land was from his father, Abraham.

I love this additional information. Actually the kalenjin are Israelites too as much as the bantu. However, they are what you can call Samaritans. They mixed with Canaanite tribes. The Sabaot are the tribe of Reuben intermarried with the turkana, while the talai with the maasai. They were the northern israelite tribes. The Bantu are the southern Israelite tribes.A lot of Bantu words and customs are also in the Hebrew language. All the tribes of Israel are represented in the Kenyan tribes. Please share any other information you have, we need to wake up everyone.

@1devoch There is a major problem that have noted with Bantu Israelism and it is perpetuated by African Americans with limited understanding of the various groups.I won't exactly seek to rubbish those views but rather I will give my distinct view on who constitutes Israel in Kenya.Here now then are the tribes of Israelite origin in Kenya:Maasai,Kalenjin,Somali.These are the tribes whose redemption will,very shortly,be set in motion by the God of the universe.It is not redemption in a Christian sense,but rather,as laid down by the God of Israel. The Luo tribe are the descendants of Moab.Have got the evidence and it boggles the mind.
