That one is easy. See how easy those shingles popped up. Don't get me wrong roofing is hard work. What he just did in a couple minute video is more than half this country does in 8 hours.
The broken shingles can be repaired with a bead of roof cement to glue them down, also run a bead to seal any seams under the shingle tab. The keyways are not rotted out. It may not look nice, but that roof could last another 5 years IMHO. I love the offset nailing tool, I never saw anything like that other than a slaters ripper that someone had left behind on a job that I did.
I'm working on inventing a new type of roof system. One that can handle wind and hail. These are made sooo cheap still today it's sooo sad. I can take a new roof out of box and rip it in half with bare hands. Sad.
Insurance doesn't consider delamination (broken seals) to be damage. Just normal behavior from 3 tab as it ages so he's trying to prove probably to an insurance company that the shingles are so brittle due to age and being exposed to weather that it is impossible to repair without damaging other shingles therefore they should replace the roof.
The weaved valley can be repaired, it's just more work. Normally weaved valleys are more protected, it is best not to weave a valley in the first place. Hey why are you stepping on the ridge caps? Fancy ridge caps are high definition when you step on them you collapse the hollow section.
Thanks for the informative video... This video is great in how it documents the evaluation process of determining the "go no go go" decision for recommending roof repair vs roof replacement.
Coulda Just Put That Gum On Top Of It.
Nothing was fixed?
You make it look easy...and it isn't. Thanks for the lesson! I never knew about the snake jack either.

As a business I would not put my name on it either without first letting them know it's not repairable. Put the money in repair into replace
Lol "attempt". Quit screwing up peoples houses if you don't know what you're doing.

What is the point when every weather seal is broken

What's the most important thing about not falling off a roof?
what if your phone call was an emergency
That 3-Tab is toast....

You have to do it when the tar line is soft and hot. The tar is rock hard when cool.
First rule of roofing, never lean ladder against gutters. Get the right type of ladder
Question. What pitch was that roof? Was hard to tell from the video. Almost looks like a 6/12 pitch. Just wondering. Thanks 👍 for a reply.
Nice ... Mr. Charles got me excited
OK... WHAT ARE U EXACTLY DOING?
How did you know to put an X at the first location?
Does attempting to repair count as an inspection? Do you ever attempt a repair and wind up running into a more damaged roof than you expected?
Lol 😂😂😂…listened to the end and got my answer
Yo, greets from Oz.. Always enjoy seeing stuff gettin' fixed, and when it can't, eh waddayado... Gotta work with what you got. Stay dafe my dude.
I didn’t realize the pitch and steepness of a roof … makes me understand the added value of complimentary roof inspections
Lol O funny ….”Dang that’s a big bee…that’s like a killer bee”
