BIONICLE Tahu and Takua Set 40581 - Paleozoic Bricks
I really hope someone is able to scan both the Vidyo Triceratops and Brachiosaurus head pieces ( with and without the accessories ). So they can be 3D printed and sold to make custom minfigure parts.
This was really fun! Love the way you present this stuff. Its so chill and authentic, ya know?
kamen rider reference????? TOKU ACKNOLEDGEMENT I'm a brand new tf fan and currently watching legend of the microns after finishing prime, so having not noticed this video release this was a fun surprise!
Great Video! I’m not even a Transformers Fan but these LEGO Sets are definitely Heaters!
Great Video! It is great to see that someone bought all three models!
man i love this video lol the way you talk about both transformers and lego really shows how much you love them
Great vid, really digging the music choices
This has got to be the definitive review of these two sets. Well done! 😊
Kamen Rider mentioned?! 👀
My favorite Chima youtuber making an fun Lego Transformers review....SIGHN ME UP! All tho, considoring your jabs at the Bayverse versions, unfortunetly, I don't think we can be buddies any more. And for your great offence, I sentence you to the worst fate of any Lego OR Transformers fan... Your punishment, is to buy and play.... ...with Transformers, BUILD TO RULE SETS !! BHA HA HA HA HA !!😈
Note. Did not bat talk bumblebee and Rise of the Beasts
@@PaleozoicBricks And I wrote "considoring your jabs at BAYVERSE" not Bee reboot movies. Either way, you're still sentenced to play with BTR sets.😈
Frankly I think you're overstating the importance of lime in the crocodile palette, from what I counted there's only 5 pieces in the whole lineup - 4 on the ship and 1 being Crominus' speedor.
Another interesting thing about snow and ice is chima is... we got a whole wave 1 speedorz set centered around it! And with Winzar too!
I always interpreted the "thousand years of peace" (btw the exact number of years between the great illumination and wave/season 1 varies greatly from source to source) as just being without actual armed conflict, though not without arguments and rivarly between the royal families.
im glad to see you shitting on the Michael Bay era Transformers. esp for Bumblebee and Optimus they felt very off, esp since the whole film was a giant General Motors product placement. my favorite from the "Legendary 7" is Starscream, not sure it will ever come in Lego form but one can dream... very cool to see such an in depth look at the Lego in comparison to other toys and the lore
Half expected Jobby to turn up xD Great video :)
An interesting thing to point out is that the LEGO Optimus Prime set was designed by Joe Kyde, a former toy designer for _Transformers._ Meanwhile, the LEGO Bumblebee set was originally designed by Joe Kyde, but the design was later on passed to other designers like Samuel Liltorp Johnson.
Great Video! Ninjago is my favorite LEGO Theme!
Great Video! Do you think that this Set lives up to the hype?
I wish i was able to buy these sets. Sadly, my folks didn't really like me owning legos cause i was a dumb kid, would leave them on the floor, and someone, mostly me, would step on them. Love the theme and wish we could have gotten more from them. Hopefully, we'll get something similar in the future.
This was my first ever LEGO set
One of my favorite sets
Everything is excellent 👍
is there a link to that interview on the tracks? I'm really curious!
It's not really an interview but the notes on brickset from the designer. I'll update the description
@@PaleozoicBricks Ah, I see, thank you!
Wow! I didn't even make the connection that the base of the diorama looks like a suva. Yet another thing to add to the list of "reasons why this is a love letter to Bionicle".
Chima was good, better than Ninjago after the pilots, but no Lego theme is as good as nexo knights
I think it’s faulty to say that technological advancements can only be made under the pressure of conflict. In the lore (website lore I didn’t watch much of the show) they were animals, then found the chi and made a civilization. By the time conflict came they had culture, language, art, and enough technology to start the conflict in the first place. The evolution of vehicles over the themes lifetime, to me would mean less that conflict advances technology, and more that it focuses energy on advancing war technology. I think that during the conflict the other parts of their culture like their art would suffer, or at least have less resources to advance than they would have had they not needed to build more war machines. Pretty much advancements are going to happen either way, and conflict just focuses those advancements on things that can be used in said conflict. Great review though, I love Chima
I wanted to wait on responding to this comment to really let it simmer in my brain. This is just how I think, But I feel the earliest civilizations were birthed out of a form of conflict. That conflict being the need to survive. Its Man Vs nature. This resulted in humanity leaning agriculture and settling down. I think all technology comes out of some form of conflict. It may not be war, but a pure need of something. Overall, My interpretation of the legends of Chima is that there were multiple conflicts over the 1000 years. To me at least its and explanation of why they have laser guns so fast if this was their first war? Plus if there was no conflicts ever why would weapons like swords be crafted? I just cant wrap my head around it for 1000 years. I view the website rendition and merely legends, shaped and molded, by the weathering they go though on their travels through the river of time. Details now lost to time as the story always changing for the benefit of the story teller.
A poignant and reflective tangent about the nature of war and technological progress was certainly not what I expected from my daily Lego content
general kozu. your.. shorter than i expected
I have this, i got it from Legoland
The Ravens also have speedors as ground vehicle, although I don’t know if you’d count them
Awesome music selection for this video, keep up the good work!
thats a cool lion ngl lol
That's cool, I just found this set out back at the used lego store I work at. Such a fun set, and the lion head is amazing for the time.
11:21 lmfao so this is what meso's doin XD
I remember getting crawley’s claw ripper for Xmas when I was younger This theme is criminally underrated Great vid!!!
I like the analysis in this video of energy usage in the vehicles. it's a pretty interesting concept and makes a lot of sense looking back at the set now. This was always a set that caught my attention but didn't last me long even though it has a technic competition blaster on the top.
I was so happy to pick up this aet from ToysRUs for $0.98, i actually bought both copies i found!
5:34 the thing about flick fire missiles i always knew, was in the motion and energy of the finger. What was demonstrated here is more of a push motion, going head-on into the projectile. A very dorect approach but not much energy is stored for an effective blast. I was taugh that "flicking" was by curling up your index or ring finger against your thumb, similar to making the 👌 gesture, and then uncruling your finger against the friction of your thumb. Thos creates more atored emergy and giving a spring-like launch to the missile. It also means less bashing of your whole hand against the surrounding area of the technic hole, but i can see how thos construction in particular could be problematic either way.
Flicking never worked well for me
For me, I loved the esthetic of the set when I was younger, but I sorely underrated the play feature. I was always curious just from the magazines, how well it would work and how it keeps the threads in the air. I'm so glad to learn it through your video now.
Perhaps one way to expand the scrap aresthetic is to make it slightly asymmetrical, in the way that Getaway Glider did from The LEGO Movie. The two sets would have overlapped in design phases despite releaaing a year apart. The stickered tiles are placed in different spots of the Glider's wings as well as different orientations. The bar-shaped elements throughout give it a textural difference like there's exposed or unfinished segments. Now for Razcal, misshapen wings wouldnt work with the new parts, but stickers in various could help. Even stickers depicting tears in the fabric, much like the design of the Robber gliders in Ninja from 1998. For the base vehicle, how about a 1x1 tile on 1 side and not the other, to plug up a hole with rudimentary patchwork? Maybe an exposed exhaust? All can be accomplished with less than a handful of pieces and still make the model look pleasing.
