I see these bikes are definitely on lotsa radars...including mine...ill get one myself i think...was also staring at Suzukis 1000 touring bike...it seems quite nice as well...chain driven though... seems to be a bit more maintenance dependant

Yeah, I had a Basement Watchdog as a secondary pump and my main Zoeller switch got stuck on so I went to the BW secondary pump and a month later it failed and looked even worse than yours. And it never really had more than a couple months of operation! Piece of junk. I see they discontinued the cast aluminum one, which is what I think is the material that you and I had and went to a cast iron model, probably because of all the failures like you and I experienced. I wonder if it's any better?

I have had the same problem with Basement Watchdog. I am on my third primary pump from Basement Watchdog in less than 6 years. The backup system is fine. It is the primary pump that had the problem. The first pump lasted two years, Had a hole in it like yours, the second pump is the same thing, two years and a hole in the side. The third pump they sent me was a cast iron pump, I though this would be better. less than a year and a half on that pump and the motor locked up. Glentronics has stopped talking to me and is no longer responding to emails. The only reason a backup pump is needed on their system is because the primary pump was poorly designed. The first pump, like yours, are just pot metal, zinc diecast, they are not stainless steel, the other flaw is the water goes through the pump housing before it exists at the top. I have taken each one of these pumps apart and the impeller is plastic and the motor shaft and nut that holds the impeller on is not stainless steel. I also thing the bearings are of poor quality and the shaft seals are not water proof. I had to put my 15 year old pedestal pump back in and it works better than this expensive system. I will adapt the backup pump to it. Right now I have no battery backup system until I do that. They did warranty two pumps, but I did not get my moneys worth out of this system. I feel they still owe me a working pump.

That gave me the best laugh I've so far today. If he only knew. If the world only knew what that bike is capable of... I love my FJR. It is by far the finest machine I've ever owned. It's a bike that is underestimated because most people just want a sportbike and they overlook this magnificent bike and don't know the specs. Even a Harley with 100 hp is only going to be 2/3 the power as the FJR. That race was like a footrace between a highschool track star and a 3 yr old.

Curious if you could provide info on the GPS mount on the handlebar, I've been searching awhile for that. Thanks

Your battery should be up OFF the ground (on a shelf) incase water gets down there. Either way though Id get a cast iron pump like a Zoeller. Buy it nice or buy it twice.

I'm just trying to understand....originally you bought a WatchDog system, 6 or 7 years ago, that included a primary pump and a battery back up pump? How long after you purchased the Watchdog did you have the Ridgid installed? Is the battery back up pump still working if you unplug the Ridgid? The Ridgid Stainless pumps only have a 5 year warranty so if it rusts out in 6 or 7 years from now you'll be in the same situation, right?

My first mod would have been the seat. I got a Corbin... was not worth the money. Barely improved the numb butt factor. Modified the stock seat with Purple Cushion. Easy done and affordable.

I have a 2013 Yamaha fjr1300a. I bought it with 2832 miles on it, and now have 55,000 + miles on it. I'm 60, almost 61 years old and have been riding for 42 years. Without a crash, BTW. I'm with you, on lighting up your bike. The people that say, "loud pipes keep you safe", are wrong, since you can't hear approaching loud pipes, to any beneficial degree. Making yourself visible makes you safe. You mentioned creating quiet, with your touring windscreen, and I too have the tall Yamaha W.S. Although I found something much better, and happened upon the idea, out of necessity. Since I travel on my cycle, and enjoy listening to music, or a book(Audible app), I tried helmet speakers, and earbuds and found that with my not so good hearing, the road/wind noise are still intrusive. ALAS.......... looking on Amazon, I found the Bose Noise cancelling earbuds. OMG ! I started using them about six years ago. Them with an inline amplifier, and my Android phone, have made SUCH an improvement. The Bose unit, literally cancels 75% of the noise, and gives REALLY great music sound quality. I was so thrilled, that I emailed Bose, and asked them if they'd consider designing a system, for a motorcycle helmet. Just awesome..... One thing though, you'll have trouble hearing emergency vehicles.

The adhesive appliqué with the American flag and it looked kind of like a screening eagle design on it . I like the reflective side to it . I have 2 on my side bags flag of the confederacy & it’s reflective too but it’s a design that’s fits the side bags yours r great where they r 👍. I’m wondering if maybe they come from the same manufacturer as I don’t c many with reflective properties. I have seen block design stickers u can hardly c during the day but pop out at night
