How to Snowboard Fast! (& look good)
มุมมอง 673 ปีที่แล้ว
Snowboarding is simple. And, most people have horrible fundamentals (And by “horrible” I mean they don’t have ANY fundamentals). Most people say they can “ride hella fast” on a snowboard.... and some can but most look wack AF! ( leaning back, front leg extended, back leg bent... this is sh$t!) In this video we go into looking like a “jerry” or a “gaper” while riding fast versus looking like a “...

    How challenging were the skiing/riding tasks? How long of a teach segment did you have to do in German? If PSIA full cert, what level would this be relative to? Thanks in advance

    • @jpdhlc
      @jpdhlc ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey bud, the riding tasks were challenging (especially if you’re self taught and don’t have experience knee steering/ using a most flexed or most extended movement pattern). I’m a full cert now with AASI and I was able to pass level 2 (ride and teach) after taking the Anwärter. Does this answer your questions?

    • @jpdhlc
      @jpdhlc ปีที่แล้ว

      Ps - I don’t ski. If you’re a full cert with PSIA this should be easier for you and the Landes should be more challenging.

    • @jefferzen
      @jefferzen ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jpdhlc yes thank you! Since PSIA isn’t recognized, I believe I have to take all exam portions, I can’t just go on and take the Landes, is this correct?

      @@jefferzenI believe this is correct. Are you working over there? If yes, the ski school might recognize your PSIA L3 but I don’t know for certain

    Thanks for the video! Just bought a DOA. I'm coming from a 12 years riding the skate banana. Why did you choose the contact pro binding? I was thinking in getting the burton cartel x or a union ultra or atlas. Thanks!

    • @jpdhlc
      @jpdhlc ปีที่แล้ว

      I picked the unions bc I thought they looked good on the board. I’d recommend the union bindings over the Burton bindings. ( I think they’re a little bit lighter & look better.)

    Hi, In terms of the financials, how much of the course price did you make back instructing, and roughly how much of your wage did you spend on rent/food/entertainment etc? Also, was the instructing enjoyable, or did it feel like work? Thanks

    • @jpdhlc
      @jpdhlc 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tom, good questions. My experience: Most of the money earned from instructing goes towards living expenses. (One could live on little and save more. But that’s not my style.) I personally saved up for the course with SIA. In terms of instructing: There are some days when it feels like work. For me, most days do not feel like work because I like to have fun. And, I get paid well to snowboard and teach snowboarding. Hope this helps mate!

    I am worried about the German aspect having done now German before. I am thinking of doing the 4 week course. How good does your German have to be and how difficult was it to learn?

    • @jpdhlc
      @jpdhlc 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Sidney - the German can be hard if, you don’t study and practice. The examiners are looking for a general understanding/ conversational understanding of how to speak German. Plus, you’ll know what you “need” to say for you teaching exam (you can study this beforehand). As far as the written exam goes - you’ll need to know how to write basic German phases related to skiing or boarding. If you study, you’ll be fine. Does this help?

    Does you switch riding need to be perfect?

    • @jpdhlc
      @jpdhlc 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No. It’s a “new rider” certification. So, you’ll “relearn” the basics and you’ll learn how to teach others the basics. Can you ride switch already?

    • @MrHappyperson31
      @MrHappyperson31 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      einen Sol SIA is (technically) a prep course that prepares you to take the Exam, to become Certified. “Snowsports Academy” is the local governing body the administrates the exam. You’ll do a prep course with SIA then, Snowsports will step in to do the official training and exams. If you sign up with SIA (which I recommend) there’s a high likelihood that you’ll be a certified instructor at the end of the course (90-95% likelihood). Make sense?
