He is one of the muni vamsam.he is non vegetarian.In Malaysia before 300 years our India munnergal brings .Now they call him madurai veeran I'm personally asking at temple people bcos every one doubt .they said this madurai veeran aya.muniswarar vege inside with vinayagar murugan .muniandy and muniswarar is different
the muniandy ayya you seem to refer is at his foot brother...you may notice the small rock and soolam attached together..and the cement statue that we see today is madurai veeran as they energise the statue as madurai veeran during invoking in homa kundam and several kumbabishegam...thus he is still known as madurai veeran..even some localities has seen him in warrior suit hunting during odd hours as per told by these blessed ones...but overall, he is whom we see and pray to him as..if your thoughts are on veeran, then he shall be veeran..if your thoughts are on muniandy, then he shall be muniandy..ellam sivamayam brother..
