Thanks a lot for this review. I wish you had tried some higher framerates, though. It is clear that the image quality is not great - but I'm trying to add a few cameras to create some 'reflections' in post. I want something that is small, very light (they will be suspended in the scene), and cheap - but I would also like it to keep up with the framerate of my main shots. A few of these might just do. I'll likely buy at least one super cheap cam just for testing how cheap I can go for picking up those reflections reels.

Hi Friend, **** i thought perhaps you would know.**** i just got a minolta 200nv camcorder, MN200NV - it take 1080p Full HD IR Night Vision Camcorder it takes a 32 gb sdhc card i do not know anything about these cameras. i see on amazon they have elite cards and the ultra like the one you recommend, Do you know if these would work, i dont know the difference in these diff types of cards, they cay 32 gb sdhc card which makes me think, they will work for me but not know a things. WELL SO I AM ASKING YOU IF YOU KNOW AND ALSO, SINCE YOU USED A CAMERA LIKE MINE. Sometimes you are stuck with what the store stocks a few months ago i went to a well known general store for a camcorder they only had 2 models one a top of the range sony that cost over 900 quid the other being a budget model sold under the agfa name for 100 quid best seller is a lot of the time based on what is affordable not always what's best value for money

Four stars doesn't always meet a high quality product it quite often means quite good for the Price that you pay and their is a lot of difference between a 1000 dollar camcorder and a 300 dollar camcorder but some people just want a very basic one because they have very little to no knowledge of how to use one and their is a difference between a 300 dollar and sub 100 dollar camcorder

I was about to buy one of these cheap camcorders from Amazon for $100 thank you for your video that tells me that these cameras aren't worth a crap.

Well i bought a minolta camcorder 2 years ago its still going strong for under $180. Never had a days problem with it in the heat in las vegas out at the lake or in the snow. Works great every time. Who cares that they dont own it anymore. No one owns anything anymore. Hatteras yachts and Volkswagen and many other companies including Nikon are all owned by Brunswick bowling balls. Means absolutely nothing. Japan is buying up everything. Almost all the major brand bicycle companies including Schwinn are all owned by japan. Rolls Royes automobiles are owned by BMW i hate bmw but i love rolls royce cars. So it doesn't matter that Minolta is not owened by them. Its a Japanese company that owns them and Japan makes some pretty awesome cameras.

The Kodak Zi8 offered better quality. 4K/48MP not possible with these cameras.

My recommendation would be to buy a used Sony or Panasonic camcorder. You can get a lot of camera for your money, if all you want is 1080p. You could probably get a 1080p60 camera with a 60x zoom for close to that budget.

Well, I'm not 100% sure about your statement that the Kimire shoots 1080p in 15fps. I purchased a Kimire digital camcorder (the one you reviewed) in early 2022 from Amazon. At the time I ordered it, it didn't specify 15fps anywhere in the description, now it shows up right on top. Well, I've used it to record presentations for a group I'm involved with, and the video quality was a lot better than what you showed. The metadata of the recordings (in Windows, right-click on the file name and hit Properties, then go to Details) show that it's 30fps. Not being sure exactly what to believe, I decided to do a test today. I set the camcorder up at 1080p and recorded an on-screen stopwatch that I found on the internet. Then I brought the recording into Shotcut video editor, set the timeline to 30fps, and started counting frame by frame. Each frame of the 30 in one second had a different image (the stopwatch counted to 1/1000 of a second), so I'm quite confident that my version of the Kimire shoots at 30fps in 1080. Perhaps there are multiple manufacturers of the camcorder, or maybe they changed things somewhere along the line and now they shoot 15fps, but I don't believe mine works like that. However, I do appreciate you going through and testing these. It makes me hyper-aware whenever ordering a camera.

what is the third camera?

OK, my friend ... I have one of the Kimire Camcorders from Amazon and have found it to be reasonable for the price. But (There is always a BUT), I would like to have an external microphone, with a plug small enough to fit into the Camcorder. Nothing at BestBuy even fits? Please let me know where you think I can get one?

This camera doesn't focus. The online manual says to "soft press the 'photo' button to focus" but the image is blurry no matter what I tried to do. It also instructs to hard press 'photo' to take a picture but that doesn't work, either. All images are overexposed even at 0.0. The "4K" recording is set at 24 fps so it's not only blurry, it's JUMPY; to get a "smoother" recording, you have to opt for the "2K" setting as it records at 30 fps. However, again, it's still blurry. I bought it so that I could stop recording on my phone because I run out of space quickly (128gb) and airdropping vids is a lot more cumbersome than popping an SD card into my laptop; it's the perfect size and the remote control is convenient, but sadly, there's no point in a camcorder that can't capture clear images. I'm returning it.

Can this camera take RAW pictures or JPEG pictures only ? The reason why I’m asking this question is because I’m looking for a cheap camera that can take RAW pictures.

I was tempted to buy a camcorder and did pretty much exactly what you did, in that I looked at a good 4k system, far too expense for me to "mess around with", dropped down a bit and looked at mid range and then saw the cheaper end and brilliant prices, but just as you found it wouldn't be money well spent, brilliant review, thanks for making me see the light (albeit pixelated 😀)

I wanted to get a camcorder for the old, retro look but after watching this video I'm feeling a little conflicted. Would you reccomend these cameras or should I buy something more expensive?

I've subscribed to your channel so I definitely plan to check out some of your other videos! Obviously, the X1 is a great cam which I wish I could pick up today but it doesn't seem to be available anymore! I was just wondering whether you had any thoughts on either the XTU S3 pro or XTU Max Pro (again another camera I'm having difficulty finding)? I guess if the S3 Pro is a real improvement on the S3 I would definitely consider picking it up for B roll footage purposes. If you have any thoughts that you can share with me on this I'd be very grateful. Again thanks for putting out such great content - you're a real pleasure to watch!

About time someone did this review. Maybe brands are a bit over priced but you get what you pay for. With a camcorder I always needed one with the eye piece.

I have the Sony hdr-cx405 coming from Amazon amazon! I am so excited, before I was going to buy a cheap camcorder but after this video i decided I needed to spend the extra money to get what I really wanted. Although the this Sony isn't the best camcorder I its all I need. So exited with what I am going to be able to do with it! Thanks for this awesome video. What we all needed!!!

How do you change fps on kimire?

Anyone know if you can record video and view the live feed while it's hooked up to a windows device? Useless for "on the go" / spontaneous event recording, but it might have some use for carefully choreographed event recording with a PC.

I purchased the camera since the description said 4K 16MP but it has a 5 pm largest file size Size = 1920 x 1080 Android App: chipapk.com/app/3051035/ Sorry no iPhone or mac app for camera control it doesn't look good in edit or any VR, 360 edit apps still renders blocky I was able to get the camera working on a new android phone and older android tablet I had laying around in a junk drawer. The Polaroid official app has been pulled from all stores but the APK is available online. Linked on top is a Chinese version that works to capture video and photos on newer android OS phones so if you want to use it you can even tho can record better content using your phone camera now. Thank you for this video! As someone who is looking to buy a video camera as well as being budget minded you gave me the exact information I need in regards to these cheap Amazon cameras. Hard pass. Think I'll go for an older model GoPro even though I don't need the features. I just want a picture that doesn't look like a potato camera and sound that doesn't sound like the inside of a dumpster on a windy day. My older cell phone doesn't cut it unfortunately.

These cameras a PERFECT for Ghost hunting videos or UFOs or Big Foot sightings or literally any other occasion when you really really need the shittiest Video-& audio quality possible. :)

Hey thanks for this😱! My girlfriend lent me her old 10 year old Toshiba Camileo x400, which I use to interview people outdoors and indoors for my TH-cam channel. It has helped me so much to get started but I'm currently looking to upgrade from it, as I wanted to get better video quality. Which Video Camera / Camcorder with an Audio jack would you recommend that is better for £100 - £150? Thank you 👍🏿
