This is the first time I am trying this so I will sen...

    The lid is hollow, which traps moisture, and theres no way to open it so one can clean it. This will create mold in the lid that in turn gets in the coffee. I ended up returning mine. Otherwise seemed like a good french press.

    Can you make one 16 - 20 oz Yeti tumbler of coffee? Is there a minimum amount that you can make? If you leave the coffee after 4 minutes is it okay? For instance can you pour the water in the coffee, then go get ready for work, and aftewards, come back and puch the press down? 15 - 20 min?

      @inSaNe_44 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes it's ok. Not a single problem. It keeps the coffee warm for 2,3 hours. So a couple of minutes aren't a problem. Enjoy it.

    I recently got one after many glass pour over style coffee makers have been broken in my home. I am very satisfied. Rugged, looks good, makes good coffee, and stays hot for hours. Maybe not piping hot after the advertised three hours but hot enough. Worth buying. Half full is more than enough for my wife and I.

    Hi there! Does this French press leave coffee ground in the coffee? Thanks!

    • @boredmoores8149
      @boredmoores8149 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If the coffee is ground too fine then some will come through. Also if you push down too quickly, some of the coffee grounds can leak through.

    thank you for this video! I am interested in getting this, however countless reviews complain that the plunger/strainer isn't fitted properly and allows a good amount of coffee grains to get up through into the pour. Are these reviews user error? Have you had any trouble with grounds?

    I was going to buy a peculator for truck camping and fishing, but I think you just sold me. I already own two of their 16oz travel press mugs and love them. This will be a nice addition to my Stanley collection.

      In my opinion percolator makes better /stronger coffee tho . And can use a finer grain than french press coffee . For french press u really need that course grain . However making coffee with percolator requires a bit of experience. Itll take u a while to feel out how to make that perfect cup . But when u get the hang of it Moka Pot is absolutely 👌 coffee on the spot.

    Do you actually use grams when measuring for coffee? It seems a lot easier to measure in cups... especially when camping. Not everyone has a digital scale

      The mesh keeps em all down and let’s the liquid through. Another reason why you should grind the coffee coarse.

    Don't you have to warm up the french press first?

    • @boredmoores8149
      @boredmoores8149 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Since there is such a low level of heat loss when you add the hot water to the room temperature press, I found there was no need to heat the press first.

  • @caseycook738

    Can you heat the water in the Stanley directly over a camp stove burner?

    • @boredmoores8149
      @boredmoores8149 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No you can not heat it over the fire directly. You must heat the water first.

      So has it worked for daily use over a long time? Was thinking of getting this for daily use, and that the glass ones break. If this Stanley one is intended for camping maybe it isn't made for daily use for years. Your comment was 2 years ago...so how is yours holding up?
