Roberto Bolle is one of the best partners in the history of Dance. With Misty he worked miracles both in Romeo and Juliet and also in Giselle. Several times you can see how he tried to correct her on stage. He did what he could. But she is out of time here and there is nothing to do. This unfortunately also penalizes the partner and the entire performance. Luckily Roberto is magnificent. But he deserves better dancers than Misty. I'm sorry but I think she's the only dancer who doesn't deserve the title of principal . She is only cute in certain roles but still not like the others

I went in thinking Copeland messed up, but after checking with a video editor I'm pretty sure it's an audio sync issue. I set the audio to align with her twirl and it overall seems a lot better. The most obvious difference being that the ballerinas in the back are supposed to switch pose right as the music cuts out like here th-cam.com/video/7mzZaJX7ih0/w-d-xo.html. On the other hand the landing sounds from around 7 minutes in are now even more out of sync so it's not conclusive.

I am very disappointed with this comment section. If you have nothing nice to say about Misty Copelands dancing or the audio not being synced don’t comment at all. Furthermore there is a difference in calling Misty a terrible dancer and adding some tips that could’ve made her performance better.

Is Misty Copland musically deaf??? that was odd... because if she is (musically deaf) then it's rather a cardinal sin for this form of Art ( though acceptable for gymnastics).

You do realize that the audio is out of sync. You can clearly See and her it at 07:09. They jump and you can hear the landing a few seconds later.

I never thought that a ballet video could bring forth such vicious comments. While I don't think Misty Copeland was the best Giselle I've seen in my lifetime, nor was she the worst. In fact, it was a great evening in the theater: her chemistry with Roberto Bolle was apparent and she brought a natural quality to her acting. I can only imagine that some of the comments here are driven by the very worst instincts and I'm going to leave it to your imagination to determine what that is.

My honest opinion: Despite her flaws, I would still find her Giselle worth watching. Just from these two clips, I’m totally buying her in the role. True, she lacks the ethereal quality needed for Act II, but even in this video where we can’t fully make out her facial expressions, I can still tell she’s embodying the role well. She has a the innocent and fragile vibe needed for this character and great chemistry with Roberto. As for “low” jumps, I’ve seen worse on YT. Many of the old school dancers didn’t leap and jump particularly high, yet for the majority of them, Giselle was their best role. Alicia Alonso and Alessandra Ferri didn’t have high jumps, yet their Giselles still managed to be otherwordly and exquisite, and were regarded as such. So I, personally, would give her Giselle a viewing if such a chance hopefully came my way.

For the love of God, comment if this stuff turns you on, cuz I don't think any human being of any age or sex can think anything but "Well, thats one way to get dressed for work"
