@@WisdomInReality I'm not questioning the events of Satan contesting for the body of Moses part. No. I question your interpretation or inference as to the reason why Satan did it. Had you come out to say the reason is because Satan questioned if Moses was indeed dead, then that would align with parts of scripture. Why do I say it's more likely that Satan felt Moses didn't actually "die" in the sense of the word, that's because even though scripture says it's appointed once for all men to die, then after that judgement, there are moments in biblical history where a few didn't go that route. First documented case was Enoch. Then we jump ahead in time to the prophet Elijah. These two were expressly shown not to have tasted death but we're transfigured up into heaven. And then there's Moses. Now where in scripture lends credence to this? Luke 9:30-36. On top the mountain, Elijah AND Moses appear before our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ, both men alive and breathing. So, had you pointed this out as why Satan contested for the body of Moses, then it makes more scriptural sense. I really don't pay a lot of credence to "scholars" since they look at the bible more as a history book than anything else. And yes I get one can infer "diety" worship of Moses when dead, but Israel has had other great champions, from Samson to king David, to king Solomon and others, yet after they died, no one worshiped their dead bodies. At least none we know of.
