Great video! I have a love affair with these guns.
Yes, I'm a big fan of the 11 and 11-48.. more so the 11-48 as I like the curved receiver rather than the A5/11 design
After cocking this weapon, is it possible to disarm without having to dry fire?
No, the safest way to decock it will be to use snap caps and then fire. If it's an inertia trigger system like the superposed and citori, you'll need to smack the butt pad pretty hard to discharge the second firing pin

Not that I know of. The safest way is to use snap caps to avoid dry fire.

@@TAJArmory Thank you very much for the information!
Hey man great video! I just got one. 11-48. How do I know which year mine was made?
Thank you for your support! You can look on the left side of the barrel near the receiver and it should have 2 or 3 letters stamped into the barrel. You can then search "Remington manufacture dates" and find a website that will give the month and year decoded. You can also post on here and I'll tell you what you have
Hell yeah!
Congrats merry Christmas too you and your family
Merry Christmas
Congratulations, you have many more coming.

We will draw a winner for the 2 boxes of Remington Gun Club Target shells on December 26th! Thank you again for your support!
That one's pertty
One of these days we need to get our hands on one of those to do a video!
I have one in my safe, can’t remember how long I’ve had but I still use it
Lightweight classic that goes forever!
Who actually designed the rifle? I mean the one person behind it. Something as good as this rifle is was probably not designed by a committee.
Great question! Wayne Leek, an engineer at Remington firearms, designed the Remington Nylon 66 rifle. The rifle was also designed by C.H. Morse and H.W. Young. However, the zytel 101 nylon compound was designed by DuPont company
@@TAJArmory Thank you for the answer! I have an older black and chrome rifle with no serial number and one of the Brazilian CBC "clones" which I have never shot. I think the Nylon 66 is one of the best rifles of any caliber ever made.
Thanks for the video. Your 62 gun is a Lightning BroadWay trap gun most likely with mod/full chokes. The trap guns of this era came in two basic setups. The standard Lightning had a standard width rib and the BroadWay had the much wider rib. The standard rib guns tended to be slightly lighter through the front end due to the narrower rib. Those guns would also on occasion have the ribs get loose due to heat and such (ask me how I know)... The BroadWay gun ribs were quit a bit more durable with this. Through the life of the Superposed as a production gun there was a wide range of options that the buyer could choose for not crazy money. The reason for this is that the guns were most often sent to the Browning facility with full chokes and somewhat oversize stocks. if the shooter decided they wanted a non standard stock spec it was a straight forward option. Same for name engraving on the trigger guard, chokes, 3 inch chambers, recoil pads, and type of sights. I'm fortunate enough to own a 1939 trap gun with several of these non standard options.
Thank you for the information on my gun! I'm definitely excited to get out there and compare it to the Citori. Both are full chokes in the 32" barrel so should be a great trap gun!
I have a 1951 field grade Superposed with 30 inch barrels (choked full and improved modified). Shoots great. Just a classic!
Thanks for sharing your experience, they are truly classic guns!

My father bought my brother and I back in the 1970s, two Nylon 66 rifles. He paid $69.00 each for the Mohawk Brown models. We shot those rifles for years. I handed down my rifle to my youngest brother, he still has it. I recently bought a used Apache Black with chrome model at a gun show in upstate NY. It needed a new stock and I found one new, on ebay. Then sold the old stock. The gun is now in mint condition, they range from $600 to $1,000 in today's gun market. I had one of these rifles most of my life, and love them.
They are classics and really just appreciate in value at this point
I have the AL390 and it's the best damned shotgun I've ever owned! I recall that during the first 50 rounds or so it would have failures to eject and that worried me, but after that first 50 I have put THOUSANDS into it without a single, solitary hick-up. Beautiful gun! Only one issue: You MUST be careful of how you replace the fore stock after cleaning. If it is not properly aligned, then it will sit on the lip of the retaining cap (rather than inside of the lip) and crack as you tighten down the end cap. Ask me how I know! Also, the recoil spring system is supposed to be replaced after 3K rounds, but I haven't done so yet, so I guess mine's supposed to be cycling slowly.
Thank you for your support and sharing your experience! We agree it'd a great shotgun, and that's good to know about the break in period
You forgot the 825 which corrected the 725 mistakes, namely the ported barrels. Pity Browning Citori line is restricted to regions. We in the US get the shaft hard in regards to any engraving and especially the grade of wood. Across the pond the sister B Citoris, B625, B725 etc are stunning but exporting one is cost prohibited. Why Browning does this is unknown, but they made it clear to Miroku, you can think about it, but don't do it.
Thank you for your support and sharing a little info on the 825. I honestly didn't know about it, so that's why we ask for comments to expand on our videos and add even more information for the community. Thanks again
The Browning Citori is, without a doubt, one of the finest made O/U shotguns ever made. I have Beretta 686, Perazzi and Citori shotguns and there's no way the Browning takes a back seat to anything out there. They go multiple thousands of rounds without issues and when they do develop problems or broken parts, any competent gunsmith can fix them in a heartbeat. My only two complaints with the gun is that They use that "H" style safety for barrel selection which has a tendency to find the middle instead of "O" or "U" when the cock pheasant or covey rise happens and Browning does not offer non-adjustable comb stocks for right and left handers like so many Italian and Hungarian makers do. Their stocks are dead straight, zero cast design unless that's changed in the last few years.
Thank you for your support and sharing your experience with those models. We agree we're a fan of the Citori as well, and are excited to get some more future shooting time with the 686 to compare.
Why are you shooting a Beretta?????
You got me! We had taken footage of both a Beretta 686 and Citori 725 and unfortunately lost the 725 footage... we will be making a video soon with the 686 and 725 face off
@ Even though you were shooting a Beretta, I thought it was a very informative video 👍🏼
And how does it shoot?
We will be making a video soon going over the specs and shootability of both the 686 and the 725. For now, I can say they are both winners, but I will go into details and my opinion in the video to come. Thanks for watching!
That fore end is absolutely horrible. A regular Citori fore end would have been nice.
There are definitely differences in the forends over the years.
Thanks for the video. I've got a 31 inch barrel 725 that's part of a run of non standard 725s' that a good size dealer orders. I've simplified my choke's to LtMod in both barrels. There's not a target that's out of bounds with a good shell and those chokes other than 2nd shot on bunker. For that game I'll run LtMod/full due to how far a 2nd barrel shot is if needed. Browning built I believe no more than 2 prototype Superposed in 16 gauge. Until They started building the 16 gauge Citori Browning didn't have a 16 in their over/under lineup.
Thank you for your support! Ive only ran the stock chokes that came with the Citori which is why I do M/IC... but I run LM in my 870, 11-87, and V3 and am a fan. Might have to go out and buy a LM Invector DS to try it out. Also, I do know the 16g superposed are rare, but I believe they were more popular in Europe with the B2G Coblance model which was 16g. I could be wrong though as I just get most of this information on websites and forums.
@TAJArmory If you decide to go with the LtMod chokes give serious thought to aftermarket Teagues. I went with their titanium extended model for mine. I wanted to pull a bit of weight out of the front end. They pattern great.
Wow!!! I consider myself to be a history buff of Browning and specifically Citori, certainly a huge fan of the gun, but I learned tons from this video. Browning should just post this on their page. Scott, you really did do your research on this one. Thanks for another great video.
Thank you Tim! We appreciate your continued support! Next week we're doing the silver pigeon and then we're going to do a face off between the citori and silver pigeon. Once I run out of shotguns, I'll likely go to hunting rifles and then possibly pistols... let's keep it going!
Do a 686 next
You got it! Thanks for your support!
Winchester's semi auto that will slam fire.
Very different to operate without that charging handle
I have one !!!
They are classics!
I have may 12 1905 on mine😊
That might be the patent date if it's on the barrel. The serial number will indicate the year made
I appreciate that you’re making “forgotten weapons” esque content but for sporting guns. It’s great to learn about these guns. You should try to do a video about beretta’s 300 series, like the 301,302, and 303
Thank you for your support! This comment has me really thinking... our original intent wasn't just to do sporting shotguns, but it certainly has taken that path. We will continue with the sporting shotguns and also introduce some sporting rifles and pistols in the future.
@ fantastic! If you need a good idea for rifles you could do something on the Remington 721,722 and how it led into the 700.
My parents gave me a 16ga for my 15th birthday. I never had any problem with reliability. I've still got that 16ga. I'm looking for a 12 Ga. in good condition because it was my dad's gun.
Thanks for watching and sharing! I've seen them on GB and gun shops for about $300 to $350 which is reasonable
Excellent video. Looks like future fodder for a Forgotten Weapons video.
Thank you for your support! We are big fans of Ian and Forgotten Weapons. Definitely one of my inspirations to do these videos!
I love my 1100. ❤ no need for anything else.
Thanks for watching! We're a fan of the 1100 as well. We were just talking about an 870 and 1100 tribute series to different variants of each.
Another great video Scott. Thanks.
Thank you for your support Tim! Definitely more videos to come!
I was gifted a 12 gauge 11-48 when I turned 13. Years later when my grandpa passed, we were going through his gun safe and found that he had a 16 gauge 11-48! It’s cool to have the pair and anytime I shoot I get to remember my grandpa.
So many great stories about how firearms serve as a memory of a parent or grandparent whether it be hunting or target shooting
bought one that was used in a gun store range in 1972 for $25.00 still have it excellant accurate rifle . i'll never sell it
If only we knew then what we know now... guns and stocks only go up in value! Lol
UntouchableS move gun
The bonnie and clyde gangster gun model 11 and 11-48
I've seen a shotgun like that before
Yes, they are fairly common, but definitely a unique concept without the charging handle
I took me three years to find a 20 gauge
Bet it was worth the wait!
FYI it sounds like your lavalier wasn't working, and the sound is a bit ahead of the video at least on my screen. Something to work on for next time. Keep it up
You are correct, we only had limited time with the A390 so we couldn’t re shoot. Thank you for your support!!
I have three a 20 gauge and two 12 gauge’s .one 12 has a silver receiver with a gold turkey I think it was gun of the year in 1998
beautiful gun.
They did a great job on this one... the wood grain really pops, and the inlay on the receiver is tastefully done! A beauty for sure
My dad still has an Apache black 66 he bought new at our local hardware store in the 1970’s. I have a Mohawk brown one. These guns were way ahead of their time .
Very cool
Got mine and a CBC copy cat made in Brazil. Love both❤❤
Definitely cool guns!
