    I was stuck between Mazda 3, Audi A3 and Benz A-Class, finally I went with the most unknown quantity. But I can confidently say that it was the right choice all things considered. I went with the most basic trim because I hate automatic A/C, and didn't want to have 18 inch wheels. With the basic trim I Paid almost the same as the exclusive line and I didn't get many many of Exclusive line's options such as the heated seat...etc I wanted the most basic version of Mazda and it was the right choice. There are far less things that can go wrong. Engine of this car Skyactive G150 is a masterpiece of auto engineering. It is so smooth, powerful and very flexible in all gears. The best point of this car which for me is the most important one is that how quiet the cabin is no matter what speed you are driving. And finally when the car is out of warranty after 6 years, the car is so simple that I can fix it by myself. The best money I've ever spent. I will keep this car forever and I want to put on it as many KMs as I can, I hope to hit at least half a million KMs. BTW it's not a hatch back with that long nose and long wheelbase, it's in Kombi/shooting brake territory.

    • @upshifter
      @upshifter หลายเดือนก่อน

      I like your config. Mine would be sth similar but also with another reason, lightness. For example I don't like big wheels on cars, too much unsprung mass. Other thing I agree with you is Automatic AC, I prefer manual AC, I never use auto in any of these news cars, it's pointless and it doesn't work the best in auto as far as I am concerned. Mazda is great you get quality like in premium segment in all aspects in my view.

    • @ampm9771
      @ampm9771 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @upshifter I am glad that I am not the only person who thinks Auto A/C doesn't work well. I had it in my audi, it nevet never worked well, either too warm, or too cold. BTW have heard of the new 2.5l engine is coming from middle of this year? And that makes the 2.0 150ps even a bigger gem because 2.5l engines in USA has had many issues and is made in Mexico. My dealer told me that from this year not all mazda 3s will be made in Japan, you get Japanese or Mexican build randomly which is a big no no for me because one of the reasons foe buying mazda3 was because it was made in Japan.

      @upshifter Believe me, 2.0l engine is much much better, especially the 150ps. The new 2.5l puts out 140ps and 234N of torque, but internet is full of reviews talking about cracked. cylinder head and oil leak of the 2.5l engine which is built in Mexico.

    • @upshifter
      @upshifter หลายเดือนก่อน

      Bridgestone LM005 are fantastic winter tyres. They have really good grip on snow. But another great tyre is Conti Winter Contact TS870P, I remember that had really good snow grip, like I was really surprised when driving them on a snowy day.

    • @ampm9771

      @upshifter I think I will go with Bridgestone. I had continental before, it has great grip, but has the thinnest thread and don't last lon. I have the same car 2024 model, I can confirm that. on autobahn I smoke cars with higher horsepower. The only downside of this car is that it isn't comfortable driving on rough roads, other than that it is an incredible machine for long journeys.

    • @upshifter
      @upshifter หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah but if you want the car to be good in the corners with classic suspension and damping system it has to be stiffer. On the other hand I cannot say it´s uncomfortable, the rebound on the damper is quity comfy actually and you as a driver are sitting far from front wheels, so they don´t affect you as much as if you were sitting closer to them like in some other cars.

    • @ampm9771
      @ampm9771 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @upshifter The problem of mazda 3bp isn't the front, it's the rear that upsets the car. Actually the front is quite good because the car is nose heavy. On smooth surfaces, or even roads with big holes the car can handle well, but smal bumos and holes and waves the car can't dampen them. The suspension setup us indeed relatively soft, but because the chassis is too stiff, the rise is rough. But i agree with yoyu, the sporty characteristic takes out the comfort. Now imagine if mazda 3 had indeoendent rear suspension, the car would become the miracle of automotive industry. IMHO mazda has done an i credible job. The car is so smooth that city and autobahn draving feels almost like electric drive. The only thing that annoys me besides the stiff ride is the crazy engine braking that mazda has introduced in 2024 for the mild hybrid models. All that said, this is an incredible machine. I will not swap it for any other cars and will keep it forever. The car is a joy to drive and give incredible fuel consumption on autobahn, at constant speed of 130kph I get 5.6l/100km with A/C on which is incredible. For my driving, I get combined 6l/100km city and autobahn driving.

    • @upshifter
      @upshifter หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ampm9771 oh yeah, I know what you mean. It´s because of torsion suspension in the rear. I drove the older Mazda 3 with multilink, and for sure there is a difference I felt. Unluckily it is inevitable with torsion bar. But I think they had to do it, as they had to introduce more systems, but they wanted to keep the price still reasonable, I think that´s why they went for torsion. Mild hybrid yes, it is like 15-20% braking. When I didn´t want it, I just went to Neutral. But TBH I quite like recharging the battery in the city, also it helps me with those small brakes touches in the traffic, that I otherwise would have to do manually if I hadn´t had that mild hybrid regen.

    • @ampm9771
      @ampm9771 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @upshifter Overall I am quite hsppy with the car. Just hit 9000km in 4 month. Went on a long distance holiday with it, there trmperature reached 40 degree, but the car became even smoother. What surprised me was how strong the A/C was in 40c. Another surprise was the oul temperature remained between 90-100 despite having 0w20 oil in it. It's a great car that you can live with its minor flaws which aren't really flaws, i call them annoying. Mild hybrid is great IMHO, only the engine braking makes the car buck as soon as tou lift off in 1st and 2nd gear, but now I have learnt how to drive the car the way it needs to be driven. The only other annoying thong is the cylinder deactivation which vibrates sometimes. Other than that, the car is great. I drive it fast on autobahn and it remains really stable at high speed.

    I’ve owned a CX-60 diesel for about a year. The most serious problem of this model is the poor work of the suspensions, which are not able to guarantee sufficient comfort on even slightly irregular terrain. I had to mount 4 Koni shock absorbers at my expense and now the comfort and the road hold are improved. However, I find it shameful that Mazda has marketed its premium model with such a serious congenital problem and, at least in Switzerland, has offered no solution. I would not buy it again!

      I don´t know what car did you own before. I didn´t feel Mazda CX-60´s suspension to be too bad. Of course it is on the stiffer side, but you need that for a driver focused SUV, can´t make it soft as a pudding to do corners well. It is much more pleasant than other Mazdas still. In regards of suspension Mazda is a sports brand in my eyes.

      It's called Šturec, in the middle of Slovakia. Problems in cornering? Well only those connected with being SUV. @@upshifter im almost certain mine is FWD only although I'm not 100%, back end does kick out in the wet on corners if a bit too quick similar to RWD vans I've had for work. I do like the body style and front lights, not a massive fan of the rear lights just not what I like really after following an identical car to me for half hour. The upside is that although it's pants on fuel, you do get the power output you'd expect from such a bad fuel economy -had a 2016 1.6T RenaultSport Clio, kicked out about 40 brake more than the Tivoli and averaged 25-28mpg conservative driving, 0-62 5.9 seconds, not sure how fast the Tivoli is, but in Sport it's very responsive and in lower gears accelerating upto 70 isnt a problem at all (even in normal, the kickdoen has you off tge mark very quick). Shame it doesn't hace an Eco drive mode, or there isn't one that's slightly less thirsty - considering it's not a performance (speed) engine, it really shouod be on par with similar vehicles like rge Mokka, Captur, T-Roc, Puma etc which (on paper) are all 47mpg-65mpg. I can't wait until I swap over to the Mokka, mainly due to the fuel factor but also because I like the interior of modern Vauxhall's/ Opel, but also as I've found the Tivoli to be unsuitable for my needs - no Lumbar support is a joke for a start, and I would like to see paddle gears in the vehicle instead of just a semi auto shift stick. I could be wrong but unlike most modern auto's, I don't think the Tivoli has a DCT so overall shifts aren't as quick or efficient as they could be. Not only that but it falls down against competitors in the fact it's only a 6-speed auto transmission as opposed to most competition in 2024 being 8-speed. Still have my Tivoli for a week, and so I am gonna have as much fun with her as I can begore switch - she is fun to drive and sticks to the road pretty good, suspension leaves something to be desired thouugh eh! Feel every bump 😅 Edit; sorry for the biblical length comment, ADHD got away from me xD

    I'm with JWF. I also bought the Wind AWD with tech package. Getting about 315-320 miles of range in mostly ECO mode with Level 3 Regen braking. Did I need the AWD? No. ECO mode basically just switches the car to driving on the rear motor. But It sure is nice to push the button to Sport mode when you need to merge on the highway. Super fast, super fun. My only complaint is I'm a big, wide guy. These seats are clearly designed for thinner, smaller people. It wasn't really an issue during the test drive, but it starts to make a difference on longer trips. Just 3/4 inch of width in the front seats would make these seats more comfortable. And there's plenty of room to do it.
