Drift Journey 9: The Dirtiest Drift #forza #motorsports #drifting
I haven't had a lot of time over the past month to put much seat time in on my new rig. Still, I'm pretty happy with how things have been coming along. This is a pretty dirty drift, but proud of how I was able to keep the car under control.

    Maybe this is just me, but I struggle driving rwd cars. FWD and AWD are perfectly fine, but I always lose the back end on RWD. Got any tips to help with this?

    • @alexanderagostino1521
      @alexanderagostino1521 25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      For AWD and FWD cars, dealing with oversteer is pretty easy, you just step on the throttle and the car straightens out. For RWD, this is the opposite, if the rear is slipping, you want to let off the throttle a bit. You can adjust tuning settings to help with the slippage, things like your differential, rear aero, camber can all help with oversteer. I can make a video on this if that would help.

      I wrote an application that uses the data out telemetry information to give various info in real time as I play. It requires some sound mixing because I play on XBox and the program runs on my PC. It is called accessible real time forza companion and can be found on Github. I'm currently rewriting it though, it's a little buggy as it is.

    Hey man, I just came across your video earlier today, pretty good stuff. I’m fairly new to the world of being blind and I had to give up some racing, but hopefully this game can get me back into racing a little bit. There’s an awful lot to learn, but I think this video that you have put together has pointed me in the right direction so thanks, I’m looking forward to seeing what else you’ve created.

      Oh man, I'm so glad you stumbled across it then. I can only imagine how much you've missed it. I just bought a fanaech wheel setup. I want to do some tutorials on how I use it. Those opening racces are rough. I recommend just turning on full assists through those until you get to the first builder's cup, then exiting and hitting up free play and go from there.

      So, I went in and I actually ended up doing that before. I had even read your message, but what I did was, I still allow myself to control the throttle and the gears because I just love the way gears work in relationship to throttle and breaking and I have to say That your video was what allowed me to figure that out and now that I’ve done it this game is absolutely amazing. I’m in the process of starting my new career. I’ve got my colors chosen, I even managed to grab the Porsche even though I really going to be looking for the Audi LMS Evo. I’ll definitely be going into a practice race as you suggested and taking the time to get to really listen to and learn all of the sounds and learn what it feels like to fully control the car. But that is going to take a while so until then, I’ll continue having partial control and, I have to say even with having partial control it still feels really good, so again heckuva video and thanks for your help and I will definitely be in touch once I’ve got questions because I know I will lol, good luck with the internship.

      No, I haven't ever played it on an IPad or tablet. I know cloud gaming does work with Forza, but honestly the delay would make it nearly impossible to play without many assists. Even the delay over the wireless controller is annoying. I play completely connected to the XBox to reduce as much latency as possible. With how precise you have to be with the inputs, every little bit helps. Also, sorry for the streaming quality. I think my laptop was overheating which caused all the glitching in the audio. My microphone was also far away for the first half of the video, yikes. Really need to be better about checking all of that. Thanks for watching all the same.

    I think you are responding to me, but your name is alexanderagostino1521 and not The Senseless Gamer. Are you the same person? Anyways. In your video you also said you use full driving assist on Crareer races with other drivers to learn the track. Wehn you learned the track, did you do good without fully steering assist? Dont get me wrong, I am not critisizing you, I just want to know exactly what and how you do it and the reason it doesn't seem to work for me. I have to admit, I am pretty impatient (although I have raced quite some hours now;). I still think though, that the audio queue volumes arent quite right I aint giving up this game any time soon:) I just dont see enough progression, and like you stated too, thats very annoying. I just want to be good at this game now its finally here. But perhaps this race game isn't for me indeed, because in 2001 when the very first Forza released on Xbox and I wasn't blind yet, I didn't like the game too much. I was more of a Gran Turismo fan on PlayStation. Unfortunately this is the only race game of its kind at the moment. Gran Turismo being as accessible as Forza, will probably not happen any time soon, if ever. Since Japanese companies do not feel the same need for accessibility as their American counterparts. So not much choice there.

    • @alexanderagostino1521
      @alexanderagostino1521 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, same person. Generally, when I'm learning a track I will start just as I did in this video. I'll have all assists on, I'll learn the track layout, then I'll switch off one assist at a time and take as much control as I comfortably can. Usually this does mean turning off all steering assists. There are many tracks with many different layouts, so learning them all will take a lot of time. Some tracks are especially challenging because they are so narrow. Others are more forgiving and are the ones I put more effort in learning to drive without any steering assists. I am still trying to have fun after all. Also, I'm not sure if you'are aware, but you can adjust the volume and pitch of each audio queue. I might've already mentioned that though.

    • @ronaldvanrhijn6652
      @ronaldvanrhijn6652 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@alexanderagostino1521 Yes of course I know of the volume and pitch settings for audio queues. And for all other sound effects for that matter. I have been tampering with them all the time;) Thanks for the headsup. Keep upt the good video work.

  • @ronaldvanrhijn6652
    @ronaldvanrhijn6652 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Thanks for the video. I am watching all videos on Forza's blind driving assists. I am pretty frustrated with it I must say. I use good Bang & Olufsen XboX headphones, but cant seem to hear from which sides the track limits come from good enough. You practice on an empty oval track, without any other drivers. so its quite doable, but when racing against 24 other drivers, weather effects etc, in Career mode thats a different story. At least for me. Taking a chicane is very tricky. Sometimes I do exactly what I should do, turn away from the track limit, but then I even crash. Following the motor sounds is indeed undoable, it sweeps constantly from left to right and back again. Your tip to use manual gears, isn't for me. I have way to much trouble with all the other stuff yet;) Your Narrator voice is pretty fast, perhaps you could slow it a bit down in future videos? I have experimented alot with sound volume and pitch settings of the audio queues, but still havent found the sweet spot. In many videos I hear the audio queues pretty clear above the motor sounds, but when I play here at home myself, my motor sound is often harder than the queues. I have the motor sound volume lowered to 30%, but then still it's sometimes hardly to be heard. I cannot stand headphones and have the developer Turn 10 suggested via their official forums an option to be able to set different sounds for the track limitt audio queues left and right. This would eliminate the use of headphones and would help me alot. So you arent dependant on the directional character of them. Also suggested to have more different sounds to choose from for all the audio queues. Since the current ones, all sound a bit the same.

    • @alexanderagostino1521
      @alexanderagostino1521 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It sounds like you are struggling a lot with this title. You pointed out that I'm practicing on an empty oval track, which is correct. However, I am able to compete against AI opponents and other people as well. Just this weekend we are organizing an all blind tournament. The audio queues are very customizable. There is one area that I would like, and that's a look ahead option for the track limits. I think being able to change the pitch for the track limits is enough to give them their own unique characteristics. Obviously, this is just my own opinion. I'm really sorry you are struggling al the same. It's possible that Forza just isn't for you, which is perfectly fine. For many, racing games aren't entertaining. That being said, I am willing to sit down with anyone who is willing to listen and help teach them to drive.

    To let you know there’s no benefit between manual and automatic you only get faster shifts if you use manual with clutch

    • @alexanderagostino1521
      @alexanderagostino1521 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for watching. I don't really know the reasoning behind that, but its nice to know. However, in this instance, the idea for turning on manual shifting is to help give the driver better control over their speed. Since we don't get a speedometer read out to us, it's difficult to know how fast we're going. If you look at the tuning menu and review your gears, you can get a pretty good idea of how fast you are going depending on what gear you're in. For me and others at least, using an automatic transmission makes it easier to lose track of what gear we're in.
