First Online Review: Cade 500 Reef Tank
I recently purchased a Cade 500 reef tank. Having been unable to find a review on TH-cam for this new product from Cade before purchase, I decided to attempt a review having now received and set up my tank. I am relatively new to the reefing hobby so please treat my comments as the feedback from a novice only. Thanks for watching! Feel free to ask for additional details or videos if you have specific questions.

Brother and Sister team make adventurous visit to Contiki great keppel island in 2003 to discover and report back on local island culture.
i am thinking of getting one of these and also livve in an apartment, was it hard to carry up the stairs?
Would love to see an update :)
Im abit late on this but how are still finding the tank a year later? Im in the same situation - live in a small apartment. Looking at the same tank also.
How's the tank worked out for you? Considering this 500 or a larger 600.
Really nice overview, thanks for making the vid 🙂
Awesome, this seems to be the most premium nano tank on the market. How are you finding that AI prime, is it enough light for your system?
Thanks for the video! I am limited on space so considering this.
Hello and thanks for sharing your experience. Beautiful investment. I have a question and a comment that might help you. My question is, what are the door hinges made of? 316 stainless steel? My comment or suggestion rather, is to add a removable piece of black acrylic or the like to block the light from your refugium from spilling to the skimmer chamber. Otherwise, algae will grow, typically hair algae, inside your skimmer body and many other places.
hi like your tank can't what to see how it go's I just got a water box 60.2
Great review, I'm sold
Hey mate. Congrats on the amazing tank. I've just purchased one myself and in the process of letting it cycle. In regards to you overflows, from what is visible in the video, you should be able to slowly close the valve below at 1/8th of a turn at a time. You'll find a balance where the water level will sit just below the emergency overflow but still be high enough above the regular overflow so as not to hear that gurgling sound. You'll know you have the balance right when you can no longer hear the water going through the emergency pipe. Monitor and adjust further to get the underflow affect with your sock filter in the sump.
How loud is the system would you say?
hi mate. thank you so much for this video. i am moving home from Indonesia next week and am in the process of deciding between which aquarium i want to get. I was actually looking at the red sea peninsula because it's got the lighting and skimmer as well. But damn this with the sump just looks so good. If you don't mind me asking, including the lighting and skimmer and pumps, how much has this entire setup cost you this far ?
Hey mate how is the ai prime light on this? there seems to be a bit of shading?
Would love to see more updates mate I just bought this tank it comes tomorrow /)
Well done mate, I’m sure you’ll love it! Such a high quality system to enjoy. Keen to see your sump config once you get up and running, I’m looking for ideas on how to customise mine.
@@m490l set mine up today, but need to buy all the bits and pieces now but I’m broke ha! Going Dalua for everything :)
@@m490l I don't think I'll have it much different to how it's recommended as I'm going to mainly be fish only tank but we will see!!
Thanks for this video , I've been looking at getting a small reef tank going for quite sum time, ive had bigger tanks in the past but they do tend to dominate your time, These cades do look great and the smaller they are the easier to do frequent water changes and general maintenance. I'm no expert either but maybe the speed of your return pump could be affecting your siphon ? is it a DC controllable pump or AC ? Should chuck a nice frogspawn in the centre of the tank and grab ur clownfish a mate they will probably host the frogspawn or hammer. Is that a cobalt heater ? . Enuff out of me, i look forward to more vids on your journey, Hopefully i will pull the trigger on something soon myself. Maybe even the Pro Reef Mini ? :P. Oh and if you want to reduce a bit of evaporation put a piece of glass on top of tank, cover 1/2 - 3/4 of it, just have to be mindful of it depending if you bluetak it or just sit it there but that could reduce a lot of evap. Ok im done :).
Amazing mate I’m really torn between this and the waterbox aio 35.2. I really wanted the cabinet to store all my bits and bobs, and didn’t want a sump if I didn’t have to because I would store the ato underneath, but there ato storage built in so this brings this beauty into calculation.
I love watching your movie. It’s one of the only ones you can get a glimpse of Keppel back when the resort was open and the island was full of life. It’s a shame the resort was demolished this year 😞
i was supposed to go there in early 2003.with much regret ended up in singapore and malaysia.
