Unfortunately Minecraft Dungeons is in its end state - all DLC has been released and there are no further updates, seasons on DLC planned on being released. While that means there wont be anything new for this game, it does mean that this review will be relevant for the foreseeable future.
@FuthorcGaming tbh the community is what keeps this game alive, since it stopped updating in 2022, if it wasnt for its community it'd be in a graveyard.
Absolutely! I see more people discovering the game and enjoying it too, so I really hope strong support from the community and interest from new people helps make real the rumour of a sequel
@FuthorcGaming nah there wont be a new sequel, Microsoft has turned too money hungry to make anything cool, they just make anything that makes them more money.
@@FuthorcGaming althought MCD's community is probably able to make a new sequel, we just need a motivation to do so.
$1.99 During Autumn!!! 10/10 very good deal as of right now

Arthas is the anakin of warcraft
Arthas did nothing wrong
I first played it this year when the first two were released on ps plus and they're no nonsense, easy to get into games with a simple gameplay and easy to like.
Just 100% completed the Lego Harry Potter game and it was such an enjoyable experience I decided to try this out. So far not a fan. The main “puzzle” mechanic seems to be remembering who and which abilities to use where. It’s not like the actual puzzles and gameplay in Lego games is challenging, but this just feels hollow in comparison. Are any of the other marvel Lego games worth it?
I would agree. This certainly had the feel of hollow cash grab tie-in. I intend to play and review as many LEGO games as I am able. I hear the two LEGO Superhero games are superior.
"No one orders me around"
The most insulting part about Shadowlands is how they used Arthas for the marketing, only for him to really *not be a part of the story at all* Even worse is that Sylvannas monologues as his soul disappears into the wind like wet fart. All the while SHE gets a chance at redemption despite commiting many of the exact same crimes, and under the same circumstances, and Uther & Jaina just stand there not even getting a word in on how they feel about Arthas. I am *convinced* that the current writers are genuinely angry at the fact that they can't escape from under the shadow of all these classic characters, Arthas included, because they can't write for sh!t. So they're determined to run the story into the ground. Literally the only other explanation is that they really are just THAT incompetent and genuinely thought they were writting a facking masterpiece. And frankly I don't know which is worse...
Unfortunately that's just about every modern writer. They're all from similar backgrounds; well off, upper-middle class privileged, immature, adult children who've never really had to struggle or fight through life and so don't have their own life experience to count on, so they just rehash old story tropes over and over because that's all they've known.
@DB-sd3cw using tropes isn't necessarily a bad thing. They exist for a reason and are a great way to communicate an idea to your audience. I think that what a lot of modern writing, particularly for games and films, is that there is that spectacle is prioritised over character. Warcraft was at its heart a story about characters, and that's why so many people connected with the franchise but by Shadowlands, Warcraft was a few expansions deep into spectacle over characters. I think a big part of this was that after Wrath, all the loose ends from the Warcraft games were wrapped up and they had to start crafting new stories, but that comes at the cost of set up and character.
@@FuthorcGaming think we're discussing past one another
God I HATE how they did him dirty in Shadowlands... Disenchanted as a fucking wisp. The MOST recognisable character in WoW gone like that. Prime level of stupid.
who does not love the fallen hero story arc
Would love your take on Illidan, although his story isn't quite done yet, I think many people tend to over simplify his character and his evolution.
Huh? What? That 10,000 years old blind beta night elf story isn’t done yet?
@t0m653 not as long as he is alive hahaha
@@Anachronos97 I mean would you rather be him or die bro? I’ll choose death over him any day 😂
@@t0m653 who said anything about wanting to be him ? 🤨
Yeah. I always thought Malfurion was an hypocrite and Illidan was a dick but at least he was an honest Dick
Yes.
I played this as a kid. It is a great game but clunky.
Great job. One of the better reviews out there.
no one talk about it but you got a great voice.
Artie had insecurity and abandonment issues so he gave himself over to the Lich King who trusts him and will never abandon him
Shadowlands could have been redeemable it not for what they did to Arthas.
Is Walter White an anti-hero? He flat out felt like a villain to me, but I stopped watching after about 1 season (specifically _because_ it just felt like he was a villain). Anti-hero to me is more morally grey, like Dexter (which I also didn't watch terribly long, but at least he did both good and bad; I don't remember White doing meaningful good in the first season?). Honestly Arthas has always been questionable to me for a similar reason: he's basically just _The Worst Paladin Ever._ Reckless, prideful, and does horrible things without good reason. Perhaps later books backfilled his story arc, but with Warcraft 3 there just weren't clear motivations -- he was just an impetuous, terrible paladin. Really it's the culling of Stratholme more than anything that illustrates that point, since he makes no attempt to separate those who might be untainted, he just kills everyone.
Walter White does start out as an anti-hero and very sympathetic character, doing what he does to provide for his family once he's gone, but he VERY quickly becomes the Villain because deep down he's not a very nice person. I used him to demonstrate anti-heros in modern TV because a lot of people consider him an anti-hero. Arthas is in a different position. I used Christie Goldens Rise of the Lich King novel as it retraces the events of Warcraft 3 and fleshes out Arthas a lot. I'd recommend it. It's a good read. Deep down, Arthas is a nice person. He wants to do right by his people and be a good paladin and good leader. He is somewhat rebellious and confident in his power, but he has entirely good intentions and, by all accounts, is a well loved and respected paladin and prince. Arthas's desire to protect his people at any cost, to an obsessive degree, is what motivates him to do what he does. He shifts from being clearly good, to morally-grey with his actions that are questionable but are motivated by the desire to protect his his people, before turning to be truly evil when he takes up Frostmourne and fully submits to the Lich Kings will. Stratholme can be debated either way, plagued grain has been distrubuted through the city, you don't know how long you have until people turn, how many people have been infected, if you can even tell before they turn, or if you have enough time for reinforcements or those with the skills to quickly test people to arrive and help. Stratholme is Warcrafts trolley problem. Do you cull Stratholme to prevent the deaths of many, many more when the plague spreads further?
@@FuthorcGaming I guess maybe if more groundwork had been laid showing Stratholme's undead situation was somehow unavoidable and definitely going to infect 99% or more of the town? With a lot of scenarios like that, the writers do a good job of showing that in the particular context, the action was reasonable (and sometimes they go as far as actually showing the further harm was avoided by taking the brutal measure). I don't remember that being true of Warcraft 3's Stratholme storyline, but admittedly it's been a while since I played the War3 campaign. I just remember thinking he was an absolutely horrible person -- and I thought that as someone who often sees the rational "algebra" to harsh 'greater good' decisions like that. They could've played that plot point as him trying to save whoever he could, but genuinely being too late to save a single person. Or they could've shown some island nation where one single town being infected resulted in an unstoppable spread that swarmed the entire army, despite that nation having a strong military for its size. There are quite a few ways they could've done that story better. But instead he just very quickly decides to raze the town and lock people in, almost certainly killing uninfected people who didn't deserve it. Basically they could've stepped into it a lot better than they did.
damn fine video, well done.
Thanks dude 😀
Crazily I got invincible on my 3rd run trying to farm it.
Incredible video, I love how you illustrated Arthas’ journey using literary archetypes, it helps support that initial point you made about writing in video games being just as artful and important as in other media
Thanks! I really think video games can be just as powerful, if not more powerful, than other forms of media. It really is a powerful art form, and Arthas's journey is a powerful one, and the fact that fans are still so invested in his character after all this time just goes to show it
Really good video! I was shocked when I realized it only had like 200 views
Wow! Thanks for the feedback! I'm just glad I finally got the video out, it's one of those ideas that's just been rumbling around my head for a while!
14:40 small note: He doesn't blame the scourge, he blames the mercenaries he hired to destroy the ships.
Thanks for pointing that out! You are 100% correct. Can't beleive I missed that! 😂
"We don't talk about Shadowlands!" No joke. That was the worst thing they could have done with Arthas. So disappointing.
It was such a bait & switch, preying on players' desire to see his character again. Anything would have been better than that.
Great review!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it :)
Short answers Yes
You made a mistake its not on android
Good spot. My research when writing suggested there was a mobile port in development with an APK that could be downloaded to test. Looking a bit further into it, it seems a little suspect. So consider this a correction.
Whenever I try opening it because I got it yesterday, it just freezes on the “press any button on the controller to continue” screen and kicks me out. it let me play it when I first bought it but I can’t anymore. Do you know why this is or how I can fix it?
The background music 😢
I replayed it a couple of weeks ago so I'd say yes.
This game will still be worth playing in 2050
It's iconic, it's definitely going to have some incredible longevity

good video, mate interesting to play it after the new games
Thanks for the feedback! It was definitely interesting with the knowledge of the new games. It was nice to see Kratos before his growth in the new games.
should i get the game? im planning to get it since its on discount for switch
There's definitely enough here to warrant a purchase, especially if it's on sale! You'll get plenty of game for your money!
I bought it on a win and am really glad that i didn't listen to reviews because i find it endearing and really enjoyable. I can see my kids enjoying this game, should the Lord reunite me to with my family. I'm really surprised that people are review bombing this game and even more glad that there are channels such as yours that enjoy the game. Sub earned, good friend. Thanks for making a balanced review.
I hope you do reunite with your family, I'm sure your kids will love it. The game is super enjoyable and a great one to play as a family!
This was such a joy when I was younger ! From the music, the art style to story/characters and gameplay, simply wonderful ! They should make a proper new title 👌
Absolutely! I'd love to see a sequel or other game in the franchise, it's truly feels unique in both aesthetic and gameplay 👌
So about that...
@ Dude, I jumped high and wide when I heard that !
@@FuthorcGamingYou must be really happy the past few days.
Surprised, but yes, I'm quite happy!
This AI voice is almost unlistenable. My god, it's insufferable. OP, you're the definition of low effort.
Catching up on your videos and I’m glad you’ve finally got around to talking about this one. It’s everything that a sequel should do and then some. Shame Cat Quest 3 didn’t live to the hype for me.
Thanks for the catch-up! I had heard 2 was far better, but I was apprehensive going in. I was really pleased to see it was everything I would want in a sequel - more of the same, but better! The grapevine has given word that it's a bit of a step back. I'm going to give it a bit of space before I think about covering it here, let it mull a little.
Excuse me, but are seriously having this conversation about Skywalker saga in 2024? The huge fan base answer is duh of course it is as long as the fan base for Star Wars is alive and well yeah Skywalker saga is definitely going to play in any year after it’s initial release
I think there's always room for this conversation about any game. The answer is most likely going to be yes for fans of the game, but there are always new people interested in the game who might have not had the opportunity to play at launch and once that new game shine has worn off, a reflection of the game in its most up to date state might reveal something that isn't worth their time. Opinions and attitudes towards systems and games change over time, and I think it's always worth reevaluating from time to time to see if it's still worth sinking your time or money into.
@chrishogstrom1571 Mate by that logic we shouldn’t be talking about games that are older than 12 months? So no talking about Halo 3, or Bioshock or even Red Dead 2?
Really enjoyed listening to your thoughts on Slime Rancher. This game has been on my backlog for quite a while - looking forward to give it a go today!
Thanks a lot! Really appreciate your comment! I had heard little bits about it and was happy to finally play it. Hope you enjoy your time in the Far, Far Range!
A few months ago I was at Dave & Buster’s and one of the games they had was, well, I think it was called Minecraft Dungeons. It was the same setup; Diablo-style gameplay, and after each playthrough the game gave each player a card. It could be items, skins, or get lucky like my brother and get a whole unique item set. Then you could use those cards for any follow-up runs. It was simple, but fun. Then I remembered that Minecraft Dungeons was in fact its own game and wondered if this is all that was left of it. I’m glad this review is here because most reviews are over a year old. And I liked Diablo 4, so this looks like a fun, casual alternative to that, along with the cozy Minecraft vibes. I think I’ll be looking to get the game now, so thank you, and thank you for sharing your personal story with the game as well ❤
Slime Rancher is one of my favorite games!
Glad you enjoy it, I enjoyed my time with it, I was certainly a relaxing experience!
Video is a bit longer than I think it should be. I think the audio could be improved a little bit as well in terms of clarity of your voice. Good work!
Thanks for the feedback, really appreciate it! Audio clarity is definitely something I'm working on!
any and ALL cat quest games are worth playing in ANY year! 😼😸 these are simple games that you can just jump into without any hustle and bustle if you're looking for quick fun. they do appear childish, but something about these games that pulls you in and keeps you engaged.
Yes Cat Quest 2 is worth playing. I play and platinumed Cat Quest. I am approaching the halfway point in Cat Quest 2. I bought Cat Quest 3. Currently, you can download and play Cat Quest 3 demo on PlayStation
The franchise has been pretty good so far! I think I'm definitely going to have to check out Cat Quest 3!
What's the point of such analysis? This is neither a multiplayer or MMO game so there's no FOMO involved.
It's not necessarily about FOMO. The landscape of gaming changes frequently, mechanics and gameplay come in an out of favour, design choices can age poorly, or maybe an update has ruined the game. Reviews from when the game released aren't always relevant 5, 10 or 15 years later. This is an opportunity to review the game in its final state, with the context of time, and see if its still worth spending your money on and investing your time in.
