    you seen the M5 Competition LCI? 2021+ models. That car is a beast it definitely outperforms the G80, 0-62 in 2.8s usually. I'm stuck between the two as both cost the same here in the uk. Thoughts? Only thing steering me in the G80 direction is the cheaper insurance

    • @nate10n
      @nate10n 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Indeed that thing is a beast hands down. I love the M5 CS because it also has the bucket seats in the rear and I don't believe anyone else in the market is doing that. As for the LCI M5 Comp vs G80 this is a hard choice, but here's my thoughts: Performance: If you're looking for straight line performance hands down the M5 no question ask. But if you're looking more for a well rounded car that is quick and nimble (compared to the M5C), G80 takes the win here. The G80 is roughly 3-400 lbs lighter I believe and is a shorter wheelbase car. I see the M5 as more of the luxurious family sports car. Throw the kids in the back and hit a dig when the light turns green. One thing to also point out is overall maintenance cost in the long run. The G80 will be cheaper for parts/repair. With a tune the G80 will be just as fast in the straight line especially if you get AWD. Sound: S63 beats the S58 sound wise. It's not even a comparison. You either love or hate the inline 6 raspiness sound. This can always be improved with a single mid. M5 on the other hand... that v8 screams and pops. Looks: The M5 has the more traditional frontend with the kidney grills that just screams BMW. G80 has a very menacing look especially if you get it in a darker color. I've received many compliments from people and when told it's a BMW, they're surprised. Granted this was before when it first came out. Things are different now since there's many M440i on the road that has the big grill style design as well. At the end of the day, it comes to your current lifestyle. If you have a family to take around, taller/bigger person, or just want to mob around like a boss I would go with the M5, you will not be disappointed. If you are don't have a family, likes to hit the canyons, and likes modding your car, then I would go with the G80.

    • @nitrolz8993
      @nitrolz8993 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@nate10nI would more or less agree with everything here. The M5 seems like it would make you feel like a boss driving around. Thing is, I’m 21 and in the uk my insurance per year for a G80 is £3500 around. But, as for the m5 I can’t even get insurance, and the one quote I seen was 18,000£ a year… so looks like it’s the G80 for me. I love the muscular m5 look and sound. G80 won’t disappoint for sure as the car I’ll be upgrading from is a 2021 118i

    • @nate10n
      @nate10n 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Bro at 18,000£/year that is insane. You legit can get a commuter/daily with that. Better yet, use that to get some nice mods for the G80. That's a big step up from the 118i. And at 21 and getting a G80, that's a big accomplishment. Circle back with me when you do! Excited to see what spec you end up getting.

    • @nate10n
      @nate10n 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you! This one is a RWD. When I was in the market for one, the AWD was slowly being released and the mark up was insane. On top of that, there wasn't many with Carbon Bucket seats either at the time. Depending on where you live, AWD would make more sense. Here in Cali we don't see too much rain, so RWD is more than capable for spirited driving and traction control is very good. If I were to buy another one at this point in time, I would go for an AWD. No regrets with the RWD at the end of the day.

    • @nate10n
      @nate10n 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's definitely a hard decision to make for sure. How I would look at it is that buckets seats can always be put in. You just need to find someone looking to swap with cash on top.You can't really swap out the RWD for an AWD system. Have you sat in the bucket seats before? If not, that's a good starting point, because you'll be able to tell if it's comfortable for you or not. That will make the decision much easier if not. Waiting sucks, but at least you know you'll get the perfect spec for you. The option for individual color is always a plus as well.

      Definitely agree, I was on the fence of getting one that was spec with the CCB, but the price tag for replacement if anything were to happen is a bit steep. I think the standard brakes is more than capable for a daily. I do like the look of the gold calipers though.

    what do i get a m3 or m4

    • @nate10n
      @nate10n 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Really depends what you're looking for. Coupe vs Sedan. The M4 will definitely look more sporty because of the sloping roofline and 2 doors, but the M3 in my opinion looks more aggressive due to the rear fenders. I believe they're practically identical in terms of measurements. The M3 will be much more practical because you do have 2 rear doors. I think if you have the chance to sit in both side by side, you'll be able to figure out which one works better for you. That's what I did and felt the M4 was a bit too long for me personally.

  • @loggy7888
    @loggy7888 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I pray when I get mine I don’t get the brake squeak. It seems hit or miss from what I read and I can’t tell if it’s just because people aren’t cleaning their wheels properly and possibly leaving just some dust is still caked onto the rotor/brakes. Ceramic coating the wheels will help some but ultimately different brake pads to lessen the dust should help. I plan to get dravit and silverstone(non buckets) as well. I’d look into using Colourlock Leather cleaner and leather protector when you clean. With just water and microfiber you’ll end up essentially sanding the ceramic coating off your leather. With the colourlock products, you’d essentially just add more sacrificial layers on top to preserve the coating and protect the seats longer.

    • @nate10n
      @nate10n 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I spend a good amount of time cleaning my wheels and using products to remove the brake dust, but it still comes back after a while. It hasn't been too bad lately because I did the hard stop method a few times. But honestly, with the windows up and music playing, you don't really hear it as much. I'll give Colourlock leather cleaner a try. You do make a good point about essentially sanding down the ceramic coating with just water & a microfiber towel. I can see it being a big issue if you applied a lot of force while cleaning. I try to be as gentle as possible, but the sacrificial layers makes more sense to me. Good looking.

      Thanks bro! You can't go wrong with the M3 in any spec tbh. If you haven't already, def check it out in person if possible. The dravit hits different in person. And when you do swoop one up, make sure to make some videos about it!

      I'm currently on a stock setup with just a valve controller. It sounds decent, but pretty muted. I'm considering a cat-back system as my next mod.

      I do like the coupe for the slopping roof line, but have always been a fan of the sedan wide hips. Also, it's much more practical for me. Already have the S2000, so another 2 door car didn't make sense. Also, I see far less G80s compared to G82s around my area.

    Swap those pads out for EBC reds. Colorguard for silver stone seats Also, Govee lights instead of the Phillips lights. Way cheaper and just as good.

    • @nate10n
      @nate10n 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Any experience with the EBC reds? Just drove the car again today and the squeak is killing me. I'm really considering swapping out pads now to eliminate the sound. My buddy has Govee and I have to admit, for the price it's def worth it over the Philips. It's just I already have Philips around the house, so wanted to stick within eco system.

      @@nate10n I get it, once you’re in an ecosystem it’s easier to stay in it. I have EBC reds on my front brakes (havnt installed the rears yet) on my G80 and front/rear on my MK7 GTI. I’m a big fan of the reds. I like the way they “bite” and the dust is low. I have not experienced any noise

      I too wasn’t a huge fan of the front end at first, but after owning the car for some time, it grew on me. I’m not sure if it’s because all the other pros outweigh the con of the front end. Having a darker color car does however hide the new grill. But at the end of the day, look is subjective.

    My sound on my scat sucks ass too. Only way to make it sound good is going catless. I was catless straight pipe for a while but had to put cats back on. And now it’s just straight piped w cats and it’s crazy how much sound the cats hold back. Car isn’t as fun to drive anymire

    • @nate10n
      @nate10n 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Damn bro, catless straight on a scat? Your neighbors probably hated every time you started that bad boy up. Did you get any fume smell in cabin running the catless? I totally agree with you having a muted car ruins the driving experience.

      @mrdr_392 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@nate10n yea had to put em back on bc car was too loud. I still live with my parents over the summer and they hated it. But no the car didn’t have any fumes only time I smelt it was if I cold start it and let it idle in same spot you would get a wiff of gases if your outside the car close to it, nothing obnoxious though. I’ve had countless of people in my car driving around with windows down never has anyone mentioned anything about the smell. Even with people driving behind me they say they didn’t smell anything. It was the best mod I did for this car. And really any performance car I think it’s the best thing u can do. Your car with down pipes and tune will best fast asf and sound amazing. there is a big bmw scene here in NY and a lot of catless g80’s they all sound amazing.

    • @nate10n
      @nate10n 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Nice, I'm not surprised if left idle you would get a little bit of the fumes smell since the car isn't moving. I'm guessing modern cars are so much more well insulated, that the gasses don't get into the car as much. I really want to tune my car, but it's still under warranty at the moment. The S58 engine is super capable of pushing out some numbers, sucks that the only real way at the moment to get the ECU unlocked is through Femto.

    • @nate10n
      @nate10n 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You won't be disappointed with either option tbh. I was actually in the same boat. I went to checkout an IOMG one prior to the Dravit. The IOMG was a lot nicer in person than I expected it to be. The way the paint plays with the light really makes the body lines pop out. The only downside (personal opinion here) is that it's a bit too loud for me. I fell in love with the Dravit because of the different shades you get from the metallic paint. Once I added the yellow CSL lights, the car now just looks evil af.
