Claude Debussy - Golliwogg's cakewalk, piano score and music

Golliwogg's cakewalk is the last part of the piano suite 'Children's corner', dedicated by Debussy to his 3 year old daughter Chou-Chou. A golliwogg was a ragdoll puppet popular at that time in Paris. A cakewalk was kind of a dance contest (the winner would gain the cake). The recording is from a piano roll played by Debussy himself. Another very beautiful rendition is by Hetty Sponselee. It is breath-takingly played by her on TH-cam.
This would be the perfect soundtrack for a ww1 COD style game airiel dogfight against the red baron.
So sad that Piotr Ilyich didn't make an arrangement for Pas de deux movement for piano, because Pletnev's one us freaking difficult and unplayable.😂
Is it Pianoteq piano instrument?
Hey, you shouldn't post real human playing piano without acknowledging performer. It is a gross disrespect to all musicians.

From whom/which entity can I purchase a download of this music sheet?

The audio is different from the sheet music displayed it seems. Are you sure this is not Sudbin's transcription being played in audio?
Liszt also wrote a wonderful piece incorporating -- and alternating -- the Miserere of Allegri and the Mozart Ave Verum Corpus. It's titled (Evocation) A la Chapelle Sixtine, and exists in versions for piano solo, organ solo and orchestra. Here's a lovely version of the latter, played on "period" instruments: th-cam.com/video/v6ZUiYTUmdU/w-d-xo.html
The playing tempo (about ♩=108) is faster than the required tempo (♩=80) on the music score.
I have the Saltykov transcription if anyone wanted it
can you please send it to me
It's an absolutely beautiful transcription - where can one get a copy of this please
Unfortunately the sheet music and the piano doesn't match
Demonstrates the overlap between ragtime and jazz well
I love this wonderful music and, yes, I guess this is Paul Barton playing. Do you know where we can find the piano sheet arrange par Pierre Gouin ?
gotta say, kinda disappointed with this performance. the worst offense by far is the incorrect rhythms in the 8th and last measures that change the feeling too much, robbing the syncopation from the last measure. the performer also removed the pedaling from the exposition of the theme so we didn't get that contrast with the second statement of it. the last notes of each phrase before the octave a thingy are way too short, they're tenuto not staccato. and maybe it was just because i had already had my opinion soured, but i didn't feel like the crescendo into the forte before the piano restatement of the theme was good, it felt like it petered out and shied away rather than providing contrast. many performers rely too much on the pedal as a crutch but i think this performance could use some more, or at least holding the notes as indicated.

What a misinformed opinion. This isn't beethoven, it's gershwin. Completely different performance practice. I thought the performer was fine, it's groovy and feels as it's intended, which counts for more here than any of the BS you mentioned.
@@tedpiano yknow, i think i was extra grouchy for some reason when i made that comment. i like the performance just fine and i totally get what you mean, i think i was a bit of a hardass for no reason. genuinely thanks for the reality check lol
