the loneliest art
A video letter to my best friend, following a debate we had on whether or not a thought could be considered a work of art.

The Age of Giants

On oligarchies, climate change, and the need to cultivate resilience in the years ahead. This line by Bertolt Brecht never gets old: In the dark times Will there also be singing? Yes, there will also be singing. About the dark times. LYRICS: Hold the front Before the worst has come to pass I’m not a martyr I’m just the daughter of a tired man Blighted miles Gotta salvage what we can Gone are th...

Your writing on the stairwell Clementine peels in the sink Thoughtless as a summer morning Call me like a hungry blackbird Sneakers dangling off of the roof My butterflies fill the rafters Driving through the fields again Picking out our stars, cheeks red My Gemini midnight brother The world Turns You're the steady kind I’d fight for Home Everywhere you touch I’m home Know it in your eyes, you ...

Hypothetical Proton Decay
มุมมอง 774 หลายเดือนก่อน
Some of the models that seek to come up with a Grand Unified Theory of the Universe hypothesize that protons will eventually decay into neutrinos and positrons. Because it violates baryonic conservation, it's by no means a commonly accepted theory. But if proton decay ever ends up being observed, my very rough understanding is that it would mean that at some point in the future, most matter in ...

really wanted to get a better audio quality, but until I have the gear this'll have to do lyrics: Doe eyes, you’ve haunted me half my life. Nothing ever made more sense than the rain when it drenched you. Red lights skitter along the walls- Footsteps creak in the hall- Stories we could only tell where the shadows wore name tags and sleep was always late. It’s July, your mother won’t call you ba...

Singing In The Dark Times

This song was greatly inspired by the writings of Bertolt Brecht. I know a lot of people my age are feeling fatigued and helpless when they look at the state of this world. But as Jon Stewart said on his wonderful return to the Daily Show, "The work of making this world resemble one that you would prefer to live in is a lunch pail fucking job, day in and day out." Change is slow, but it's also ...

Maybe.... The worlds art comes from dreams. And dreams come from thought. But you know what? I'm glad that God can see into my heart and mind... And in him, I share a deep friendship that no one else could share, because no one else can see all the dreams, the hopes and feelings I hold in my heart and feel it too... Thoughts, ideas, dreams are all placed on different kinds of canvases to convey our heart. Art is meant to be seen. No one can see our thoughts except God. So, from our thoughts, we create art. That is the process. Just like from trees, we create paper! While some may argue and bring up good points that paper is tree, they have distinct differences. Such is thought and art.
Fart. Ok now that I got that out, "art" can be applied anywhere eh? Though with something as intangible as what you're describing, the art may more be the practice rather than the content? Isn't that what other arts do too, evoke thoughts?
Yeah, I guess my question isn't "can" art be applied anywhere (which I decided "yes" on years ago), but more of how does our experience of something change if we treat it as art? Especially our experience of our internal world.

Thanks for making me feel what you feel…. It’s the energy of things that move me… (PS: I put you in my 888 playlist so ai can come back to it when I want to remember this moment…)

Great voice man
Hey could you share what you played for the banjo on this? I’m new and want to play this song but can’t find anything for it anywhere. Thank you!!
I think we transposed but the basic thing I was playing on banjo were the chords D, G, Bm, G. I was playing in 3/4 timing to create a cool rhythm, and on the last G I think I did some hammer ons for fun.
Such a beautiful concept.
Beautiful🤩
