AED SURVIVAL STORY - Fast action and a defibrillator saved Brian's life.
A news segment from WIN News highlighted the recent donation of a defibrillator to the Royal Hotel Grong Grong/Welshpool Hotel by AED Authority. The donation was made as part of Stryker's Forward Hearts program. During the segment, Brian, 57, the manager of a pub in Welshpool expressed his gratitude towards bystanders who quickly acted to save his life when he suffered a cardiac arrest while on the job.
Tiana Daniels, acting team manager for the Foster Branch of Ambulance Victoria (AV), attended the scene and commended the heroic actions of the bystanders. Daniels emphasized that time is of the essence in cases of cardiac arrest and that bystanders' actions while paramedics are en route can make all the difference. In this case, the patient received CPR and multiple shocks from an AED before paramedics arrived, increasing their chance of survival by more than 70%. Daniels noted that if the patient's partner and other bystanders had not acted so quickly and had a defibrillator on their premises, the outcome could have been much different.

    What if the person has a nipple ring or a metal under wire in their bra?

    • @ShockValue500
      @ShockValue500 13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Rings and other piercings should be fine, bras that contain metal should be removed as they interfere with placement of the pads and can cause arcing and direct the current away from the heart

      Better to have some fried epithelial tissue? Or to have deceased nervous tissue and arrested cardiac muscle?

    Excellent demo video on how to use your AED. However, your model is a male. What do you do if it is a woman? Do you cut off all clothing, including a woman's bra? I would think so since most contain wires. I would suggest that your AED kit include a light weight blanket to cover patient once he/she comes to, especially if clothing (i.e. t-shirt or pullover shirt) needed to be cut off.

    Best damn defibrillator I've seen. Never had to use it, but I'm verry brand loyal.. I wouldn't use a Zoll unit to wipe my @$$ even if it's all I had. I had one, just stopped working one day. LifePak forever!

    Wrong indicator, should be on the left side those illuminated ( the hands up symbol ) 🥲 to ask do not touch the patient.

    The wires to the pads look a little too short, if you need to roll the person into the recovery position.

    Was looking for a training video as we just received a number of these 360P's in our school. However I believe you have the wrong symbol in use at around 2:30 when the dialogue is saying do not touch the patient the symbol flashing is the one where you can touch the patient. I find this would be confusing and will need to look for another training video that is more correct.
