I remember this game,my heart was pounding with excitement when The ROCKET returned that punt for a TD. And then it sank when there was a flag on the play. And if i remember correctly, after the penalty, ROCKET almost broke off another return TD. Those were exciting times in college football.
I was there...endzone
The famous illegal Uniform penalty (Socks) what a disgrace ,never called again
I walked right up to the Orange Bowl 5 minutes before kickoff and bought two tickets for me and my girlfriend. My first college game. I’ll never forget Warrick Dunn’s 80 yard run. Great atmosphere.
Warrick Dunn and Jeff Cheney rockin'.
Hard-fought defensive struggle. Turnovers are always costly in games like this one.
michigan blows it again i loved it
How do you show highlights of this game and NOT have the 4th down stuff that pretty much decided the game?
Great clip ! Any more of this game ? At the time, some thought Pitt took an easier road by playing Georgia in the Sugar Bowl. Hardly. #'s 2 and 3, Michigan & USC resp., played in the Rose Bowl. The Bulldogs were #4 and 10-1, their only loss a close one at Ole Miss, who would also hand the Irish their only loss the folliwing year on their way to the '77 nat'l title. Anyone else Pitt might've played would have been ranked lower with likely more losses. 🤔 🏉
I have a jersey called 17
bad call!
Onward to victory!
This is actually one of the most impactful games in Tennessee football history. Fulmer realized Tennessee needed to be much tougher and far more physical, like this Nebraska team. Fulmer took that lesson to the 1998 National Championship.
Hard to believe Nick Saban was in his fourth year of coaching at Kent State when this game kicked off
Lived in California at the time. Back then you rarely saw teams like Pitt. We always got a regional game. We had heard of Dorsett but this was our first chance to really see him play.
Tennessee never matched up well with Nebraska back then. People who know football better than me said Nebraska consistently chop blocked, and got away with it!
Donovan McNabb was killing it
who is that little guy playing running back. His cuts are eletrifying. He might have a chance at next level.
That's back when manning was assaulting the trainer girls.
Actually she was an adult full time employee
Anybody else seeing the best game from McCaffrey in 2023😂😂
2024 you mean
2024 haha
Came from the video of him signing a USC hat lmao
Real football 🏈
Kinda one sided highlight tape
Yeah. The 🚀 used to break hearts...
Simply Awesome! These were some of the best days and memories of my life! It’s been nearly 40 years since this team accomplished so much together. To all my teammates and friends I have not seen in so long- I wish you well, Go Tanners!
Terrible editing
One of the best games ever played.
Ken Clark turned his ankle on the second touchdown run. He still played, but he wasn't as explosive. Still a damn impressive run for the 3rd touchdown.
Dang, that facemask on Clark was not called. Hell, they unbuckled his helmet and it was not called. What an awesome run after the pitch from Steve Taylor. Ken Clark was a very physical back, but nagging injury held down his numbers. Missed most of his Sophomore year. The offense in this game was just unbelievable by both teams. The reverse to Richard Bell. Man, he was moving. The speed in this game was just incredible. Taylor ran 4:34, Bell 4.31, Brian Carpenter was 4.3 and had the best Electronic 10 yard dash time on the team. Clark was 4.39. And that weren't even some of the faster players for us. Dana Brinson and Terry Rogers were. Sadly, Rogers (Johnny's Son) who looked like the next great Husker I-Back as a Freshman, was lost for the season after early in his Sophomore year. He had Mutiple knee surgeries and never played again in Lincoln. I think that he and Clark both had about 130 yards a piece against UCLA. After that game Terry suffered the injury.
I'd forgotten about Charles Fryar who was Irving's cousin. Man, he looked like Irving blowing away and past everyone down the field. He was a great DB for us. High-fiving it with Reggie Cooper. A few years later that would have been a penalty for Un sportsmen like conduct. Ken Clark was a beast in this game even though he twisted his ankle on the 3rd touchdown and was slowed from that point onward. Without that injury he might have had 300 yards. I believe he did have 256 or something like that.
Back when game uniforms were only slightly nicer than practice uniforms lol
I was a kid when this game happened and to this day I know they did their best to bring the title back to Lincoln. Love Nebraska football win or lose.
Too bad ND didn’t pay enuf
Strang escaping that sack was the back breaker
Tackling use to be so much better
REAL football
Too choppy
A few plays and Miami is beaten in back to back years. Shame PSU couldn't play them in 93 or 94.
I love watching old games, only if the Cane's win. Hooked on Cane's!
Should’ve played Troy Smith
#3 Miami teams first year, 1993, in the Big East where they were supposed to dominate.. unfortuneatly this year they were ousted of the conference championship by WVU who went undefeated that year. Not a great year for the hurricanes in the end..
JC could throw it. Switzer should’ve let him do that more.
I Remember this game. Believe me Oklahoma earned every yard.
No other college football team in the U.S. has won as many games due to cheating referees as ND. No team has lost as many games to ND due to cheating referees as Navy.
#22 o and o ..... go noles😘
Nebraska played a far better team in the bowl set up, compared to whashington St? Michigan squeaked a win out against?!!! LoL Neb got the better TROPHY anyways 🎉
Horse shit editing. Fake block in the back flag. Just pure crap all around
I was at this game. Some legendary players in this game on both sides of the ball.
Most fondest memory of Nebraska football was Johnny Roger's. Man he was Great.
Shit editing
Back when Nebraska players were a team full of juiced up steroid players lol.
They played BOOMER SOONER THE WHOLE 4TH QT 😂
And Switzer gave the Pride the game ball!
