I heard one of their songs the other day and started searching for more, I had their album and loved their music, so fantastic. They were really underated but listening back now, their songs still hold up against what we listen to now. Some might not agree but my tastes have always leant towards pop and I haven't stopped listening all over again and constantly ind myself singing them to myself. My favourite was Now those days have gone but there are some that I had forgotten that are brilliant like The Right Situation and Shine On. These four were always and will always be the Only Bucks Fizz for me and David Van Day can go do one!!

I still remember the day I saw the window of our local record shop littered with copies of this single. The reason, I then found out, was that Cheryl lived just down the road from us in Bethnal Green! My Sister knew her at School, back when she was Rita Crudgington of course! Then a few years later, she resurfaced in Bucks Fizz and the rest is history!

This is just the best. Really love this song and as an 11 year old at the time, the fizz stopped me in tracks with this mega tune. I played it to friends later in life and they thought it was Stevie Nicks / Fleetwood Mac. One of my favourites

It's hard to say which was worse. The scraping violins drowning out most of the track or Cheryl Baker's off-key wailing in the chorus.

I got fed up and lost interest with the group 1 when Shelley join she would never come up to Jay Aston and second got fed up with Bobby on the lead all the time. So glad we got the origina 3 backed

Who’s doing the backing vocals on this solo version then, at the when love is real it never dies part, doesn’t sound like Mike & Bobby, also the repetition of so strong has been omitted. Cheryl mentioned the release of Heart of Stone when they interviewed her briefly. She said Bobby sang lead while she provided backing vocals but maybe she could’ve performed a ballad version of that instead. At least this is better than the version the group performed on tvam! There’s also a version by a lady named Margaret Wakeley Harris. The writer Andy Sells went on to compose soundtracks for video games apparently!
