    Thank you for showing the whole process. I have a quick question: my starter is currently fermenting for the first time (I just made it.) do I need to feed it before using it the first time?

    • @TheHooptyHaybalers
      @TheHooptyHaybalers 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      We didn't make our starter from scratch, we were blessed from a friend with an active starter. So I'm not 100% sure where your starter may be, it should be active, bubbly and happy, ideally doubling before making a loaf. I do feed mine before baking, in the start of the video our starter jar was quite full, of bubbly and active starter - after I added my starter to the bowl for bread we fed it again (in the jar) - once this rises and more than doubles it's ready to bake with again. We hope this helps! Happy baking!!

    • @TheHooptyHaybalers
      @TheHooptyHaybalers 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If I recall its more of a greaseable bushing. I do have some footage of me going through the wheels, I will try to get it edited and uploaded. That nut has three positions, and there are metal shims to get an "in between" amount of clearance. I just installed mine so they were tight, but not so tight that they created drag. I have not had a problem. Thanks for the comment!

      @@TheHooptyHaybalers I'm talking about the big nut on the shaft the wheel rids on. It backs up(adjacent) to the driveshaft you replaced the u-joints on. I am wondering if you recall the correct orientation/installation of that nut. I recently did my left side hub. I put the smaller portion of nut towards the wheel bearing. Being a bearing with a rubber seal, this made more sense. To use the nut to push onto the inner part of the wheel bearing, instead of the rubber seal. I might be incorrect on the matter.

    Everything looked yummy, you’re a great cook! For the scalloped potatoes, I have started boiling my sliced potatoes for a few minutes to soften them before I prepare the dish, which saves a lot of time in the oven. When I make cheesecake, I add some finely chopped pecans, a touch of cinnamon and use half Ritz crackers and half graham crackers. It really adds a lot of flavor to the crust. Yours turned out looking beautiful! I found the music too loud to hear you some of the time, and the scratchy intermittent sound was very distracting. I don’t know if it was part of the music or what, but it was distracting. I wanted to hear you more than I could. You really outdid yourself with all the cooking! Whew! For the sandwich bread is that regular flour or bread flour? I’d like to try this recipe. Tfs. Have a wonderful day.🤗

      It is a bread flour - King Arthur Special Patent to be specific 😊 But All Purpose will work as well, that's what I was using before finding the Special Patent. Thank you so much for tuning in and we do hope you try the recipe!

    I love the smaller loaves, so you can freeze the rest. Great Idea! 😊

    Is it possible to get the flour measurements in grams or ounces?

      1 C. of flour is equal to 125 g. so 3 1/3 C. should be 416-417g. of flour? I've not tried the recipe using grams, but we do hope you give it a try! Thank you so much for tuning in! 😊

    Just finished this bake. Can’t wait to try it. Did a hand mix. Only thing was different was the 3 tablespoons of olive oil was less grams. I did 3 tablespoons and then a tablespoon of unsalted butter. What could that hurt? Beautiful loaf. It’s had to wait for it to cool down.
