@ten minutes in, I thought this about the siege engines in Pharoah. From what I understand, siege engines weren't used during that period. I may be wrong, but that was my only negative perspective of Pharaoh.
And cavalry is also anachronistic.
@@scotvince7847 right; however I do believe (without looking up to confirm) that the Yamnaya were riding horses during this time (not chariots). Perhaps they were a bit later though
I asked ChatGPT: "The Yamnaya culture, primarily associated with the late Copper Age and early Bronze Age, had largely dissipated by the time of the Bronze Age collapse (around 1200 BCE). The Yamnaya were originally a nomadic pastoralist culture from the Pontic-Caspian steppe (modern-day Ukraine and southern Russia), active between roughly 3300-2600 BCE. By the time of the Bronze Age collapse, the Yamnaya people had already undergone significant migrations and transformations, contributing to the development of various cultures across Europe and Asia. Their descendants and the cultures influenced by the Yamnaya, such as the Corded Ware culture in Central and Northern Europe and the Andronovo culture in Central Asia, were more active during this period. During the Bronze Age collapse itself, which was marked by the widespread fall of complex societies in the eastern Mediterranean, the Yamnaya's direct descendants would have been integrated into various emerging Indo-European cultures across Europe and Asia. These groups were likely less affected by the collapse than the more established civilizations in the Near East and the Mediterranean. Instead, they continued their expansion and adaptation to new environments, contributing to the spread of Indo-European languages and cultural practices."
the Yamnaya are indeed credited with being among the early cultures to domesticate and ride horses, which they used for both transport and warfare. This innovation gave them significant mobility and military advantage, which played a crucial role in their expansion across Europe and Asia. The Yamnaya culture, flourishing around 3300-2600 BCE, is associated with the early use of horses, not only for riding but also potentially for pulling wheeled vehicles like carts or chariots. This use of horses for warfare, combined with their pastoralist lifestyle, enabled the Yamnaya to spread their influence over vast territories. Their migrations are believed to have significantly contributed to the spread of Indo-European languages and cultural practices. While the Yamnaya themselves had largely dissipated by the time of the Bronze Age collapse (around 1200 BCE), the legacy of their horse-riding and warfare techniques would have persisted in the cultures that descended from them. The knowledge of horse domestication and chariot warfare, which may have had its roots in Yamnaya practices, became central to many Indo-European cultures that followed, influencing military tactics across a wide area.
The Yamnaya culture is not primarily associated with the use of chariots. Instead, their innovations in horse domestication were more focused on horseback riding and the use of horses for pulling simple carts or wagons. The Yamnaya were among the earliest cultures to domesticate horses, and their use of horses provided them with significant mobility across the vast steppe regions. Chariot warfare, as it is more commonly recognized, developed later and is associated with subsequent cultures influenced by the Yamnaya and other steppe peoples. The earliest evidence of true chariots-light, two-wheeled vehicles designed for speed and maneuverability in battle-dates to around 2000 BCE, and they became more prominent in warfare during the second millennium BCE in regions such as the Near East, Egypt, and parts of Europe. The chariots associated with later Indo-European cultures, such as the Sintashta culture (which descended from earlier Yamnaya-related groups), played a significant role in the spread of chariot warfare. However, during the time of the Yamnaya, the focus was more on horseback riding and the use of horses in simpler forms of transport rather than the chariots that would become central to warfare in later periods.
LOVE THIS, thank you for the love shown to the Historical Title fans, I also love WH btw but at my core I love Historical TW. So amazing to see how it is done 🤓🤓🫶🏼❤️
Just to tell I really loved the approach of the thruth behind the myth in Troy. It was really smart and inventive. Concerning Pharaoh Dynasties, the game became really good in my view. I enjoyed battles for the first time since Medieval II, for what I look for in them in the TW series: as a battle simulator, with their slow pace when the lethality feature is desactivated. Lethality is a very good mechanic idea, but it accelerates the pace too much. Congratulations, best of luck for the future.
Yesssss!! Truth Behind the Myth is still my favourite mode to play Troy. Really brings the homeric epos to life in a fitting way
Which total war is in question because its not one made by sofia
The guy doesn’t even know what a game director is you can tell from the state of pharaoh
Total war Pharaoh is made by CA Sofia, and this studio basically saved the game by releasing a huge free update for the game 2 weeks ago ! Why are you talking about a subject you don't seems to know anything about ?
@@matex600 the dynasties update makes total war pharoah addictive as fuck and one of the best historical total wars ive played in years. probably since Atilla.
@@Germainb5 because I think the game is rubbish
@@carsen1GTFO try a total war pre rome 2 you will be amazed
Great talk. But I didn’t understand his comment about the three skill checks in the Zaithisk machine in the creche. the machine cannot remove the tadpole - or can it? i thought the checks only affect whether you get a buff or a temporary debuff. So why the three checks?
Amazing. There are so many choices in this game after 2000 hours there is still content i’ve never seen .. because i havent made as many apparently stupid, crazy or impossible choices as I should. Time to let loose and let Larian sort out the consequences.
Kipi's the Best!
I'm really surprised that this video is so unpopular, it's so much Insight into how baldur's gate 3 works. Any fun of that game should watch
I guess not many players of BG3 are really that interested in things like game design - I'm here specifically because I don't enjoy the game, but *have* found it interesting to pick through how the game was put together and how things ended up feeling (for me) so disjointed.
42:45~ Is... is that a picture of *Alice Cooper* hanging on the wall there? 😅
Amazing video thanks for sharing more people need to see this
Players want to make the most money possible. If a player can earn 100k a year playing $Cryowar then Cryowar will succeed.
