John Deere 1025r Winter Prep: Plow & Blower Install
Get ready for winter with this complete guide to installing and testing a snow plow and blower on the John Deere 1025r! Watch as I walk through the entire process of mounting both attachments using the quick-hitch system.
I show you the full installation process, including setting up the electric spout control, routing hydraulic lines, and testing both implements. The 54-inch snow plow and front-mount blower transform this compact utility tractor into a serious snow-fighting machine.
See real testing of both attachments, with detailed explanations of the quick-hitch system, hydraulic connections, and PTO setup. I share honest feedback about the 54" vs 60" plow options and demonstrate the blade's performance in both snow and dirt modes.
Whether you're considering these attachments for your 1025r or just want to see them in action, this video covers everything from unboxing to field testing. Perfect for anyone preparing their compact tractor for winter operations.
Want to see more John Deere 1025r content? Check out my previous video showing the initial tractor delivery and setup. Thanks for watching, and stay tuned for upcoming snow removal videos!

So with the cutting blade on that plow, I went to metal fab shop. Took a new blade to them and they made me one lot thicker and taller. This made the blade last lot longer than one day like the stock ones.

you will enjoy that great little machine. I bought one years ago, then upgraded to the 2025R. A couple of things, you can get extenders that bolt on either side of the plow, they are 9", so then you would have a 6' blade. I would strongly recommend you get some edge tamers or like product to bolt to your blade cutting edge. This keeps from digging in, also use the float mode when using them and plowing snow. Invest in a weight box for the rear, you already have the I match system for the rear and you will need the extra lbs, the wheel weights may not do it. I keep the backhoe on mine. Moving that pile of dirt can be moved in a fraction of the time by using the loader.

I ended up going with the TYM equivalent, just the tractor and loader with no addons. I have the industrial tires with no added weight anywhere on the tractor and have yet to get stuck. In 4 low these little tractors can go just about anywhere. If you plan to plow with the bucket, I would absolutely get some clamp on shoes. Even on pavement they are great because you can aggressively angle the bucket to cut through hardpack and ice without ruining your driveway surface or grass. I checked out these JD's and they are awesome machines, very impressive power for their size!

During the summer months, I removed my doors from the cab. I put eye hooks on the posts of my pole barn and used the door pins to hang them on the post. Store them right along the side of the wall of the pole barn. The engine heat will also enter the cab during winter and summer months. So during the summer, you want that heat to get out as quickly as possible otherwise you will cook in the cab with sun beating through the glass and heat from engine coming into the cab.

Yes it’s only a good option if you’re removing your loader often. If you never take it off then there’s no need to get it.

Very nice tractor. A friend of mine had a 1023e that he felt was a good tractor.
