The tab on that ring passes through that sensor to give the fixture it's home and stop positions, as long as your gear alignment is correct position of that ring is irrelevant

@@PascoliniProductions I've found in the past people cleaning them the way shown in the video tend to miss bits and sometimes even push the residue into more awkward clumps, it also means that cracked rail mounts are easily missed.. I get what you are saying though, the modules can definitely be a little intimidating when you first open one. Plus you really need some bench space to open them which isn't always easy on a gig.

True, the rail mounts are fairly brittle and I definitely have broken them before. With the vipers getting into double digits in age that's probably gonna become more common. Maybe that's a video for another day

All the electric components are held within the head as part of the design to make the fixture IP rated. Placing the tilt components in the arm would make it difficult to fully seal the fixture. I agree that it's inconvenient, but it makes sense as far as sealing the head goes.

and to mention the tork values across the fixture when resealing it - really not a practical video at all.

@@PascoliniProductions df oil gets everywhere, I was cleaning a fan recently and the df oil had actually got inside a glass fuse. It's a great looking haze but it a bit of a nightmare for maintenance.

Static gobo wheel or rotating? Fixtures could be dirty and reflecting light, for which I'd recommend deep cleaning. However if it's not dirty ,it could be a calibration problem, for which you'd use the advanced menu to calibrate the gobo wheel. @@PascoliniProductions I know that the vipers have lamp adjustment screws for focusing the lamp. Could the same process work with the axioms using the for screws that hold the convexed piece of medal on the lamp?

No, it's not the same with the axiom. You have to ensure the lamp is seated correctly and then that plate just holds the tension

There is no bigger story? Light wasn't working, now light works. Anyone experiencing this issue now has one troubleshooting step to reference

Ensure that you're properly lamping the fixtures on and off either through the console or through the menu. Once lamping off, give the lamps time to cool before killing the power. Routine maintenance like blowing dust out of the cooling fans will also help keep the lamp in good shape. I have found these lamps do not like to last very long. We generally find ourselves swapping them under 1000 hours

Same amount you could run with any other console. It's more about parameter count and number of outputs available. With a full size MA and a few NPU racks with a few opto splitters you could run hundreds of fixtures as long as you have the power to do so

Were you using the 23 channel mode? You're probably right about that. I think they're more of an uplight or scenic lighting fixture rather than a crowd facing effect light so a lack of strobe effects wouldn't surprise me

The DINA error means the dimmer isn't calibrated. You need to access the advanced service menu (press and hold the cog wheel when "SERVICE" is highlighted in the menu. From there go to the Dimmer option. That will allow you to adjust and calibrate the dimmer value you desire. Once that setting is saved, power cycle the fixture and the error will be gone
