How to change blending mod of image plane ? Plz reply
Inside the 3D plane under blend mode, choose the blend mode for which type of renderer you are using. If you are trying to blend in 3D I think the software renderer option might be the way to go. Of course that depends on what effect you are trying to achieve.
Thank you so much for the mention, and the nice words! Truly appreciated 🙏 I’ve found your tutorials insanely useful as I transitioned from After Effects to Fusion a few years ago.
You are so welcome! I love what you are doing on your channel. It always makes my day when people find the videos useful. Thanks!
Hi, Simon Ubsdell here. Thank you very much for the mention. I really appreciate it. Love your channel.
Thanks Simon! I really appreciate all you do as I know many others do. It is strange that many of those videos you put out over the past year I had never seen and I am subscribed to your channel! Especially since a common thread I see is people wanting more advanced Fusion tutorials.

Hey Guys, somehow the default export to blender does not work. Do I need to specify the version of blender and how would I have to set it upß Thank you
I just checked with Blender 4.2.3 and latest Syntheyes and the defaults are working as expected. There is an option to change the versions in the export if you are using an early version of Blender. What versions are you using?
@@prophetless 4.2..the default path simply does not work. It doesnt even open blender. Could you somehow provide a picture/script how you referenced your version of blender? Mine is: C:\Program Files\Blender Foundation\Blender\blender.exe
In the Blender Python Settings when you export. Put that file path in the Blender application box. So Syntheyes knows where to look.
@@prophetless Got it. Thanx
Awesome!
The best davinci 3d video tracking explanation on the entire internet. The video is too long, but after many fails - every step and detail is important! Thank you for this!
Wow, thanks!
This is an excellent 3D video tutorial!
Thanks!
the is the best so far that i have seen in using the software practically., i even would like how to make 3d objects interact with your real body..,
Thanks! It's funny you mention that. One of the next longer videos I am working on is exactly that.
Very nice ❤❤
Thanks! 😊
If you want to do the 3D Object track in different software you can skip to 11:10 Where we start talking about lining things up. For those that want to do this entirely in Fusion I have some links under the description to some videos that show you how to do the 3D object track in Fusion and other ideas and techniques.
Beautiful workflow. Thank you 🙏
You're Welcome! Thanks!
Thanks so much for this, big help for those just getting started with this workflow. Question maybe you can provide some in sight to. When comparing an Alembic export to the Bender python export, the blend python is missing many tracking points that the alembic export has. Any way to control this and have more tracking points with the blender python export ?
In case it helps others. While in a "camera view", select a tracker(s), right click then under Attributes and you will find "Exportable".
Thanks! Sorry I didn't get around to respond earlier but it looks like you figured it out. 🙂 I haven't been having this issue as of today. The trackers, by default should be set to exportable. In the trackers Tab at the very bottom, there is a little checkbox In the solved area. But as you stated below right click menu also works!
Wow. This is the best tutorial on Surface Tracker there is. Good and detailed. I just wanted to know how to add motion blur to Surface Tracker, but found a full guide. Since then they moved motion blur to another tab and left only 1 slider, but I think the quality is very good. They also changed the way tracked points are moved: when you hold Ctrl (on Windows) there is no dotted line you draw, but just a selection tool and you cannot rotate them anymore. All other things were not changed. Unfortunately in my case I was not able to do such a good job as you in the tutorial. I needed to replace 2 images on a white sheet of paper that a person holds. I still have some artifacts here and there. Maybe I just lack practice. Hopefully next time I'll do a better job. Thank you for your tutorial.
Thanks! I'm getting ready to do another video and plan on using the surface tracker for part of it. I'll have to look into those changes. That would be unfortunate if they got rid of the option to rotate the points.
@@prophetless I decided to check how Surface Tracker works on Color Page and it works exactly as in your video, but on Fusion page even vertices look different, you can select them only with rectangular selection and I haven't found a way to scale or rotate them, only move. I'm on Davinci 19.0.3. and found a discussion on Reddit: "Surface tracker in Fusion Issues" in ver 18.6. People complain about too big points on Fusion page and normal size on Color page. It looks like now they just changed the way points work on Fusion page, but left them the same on Color Page. I hope at least tracking algorithm is the same on both pages.
Interesting. Maybe it will go back in the next update. At least I hope. Sometimes they fix one thing and break another. 🙂
@@prophetless Maybe.
Your channel is a gem
Thanks!
Thanks for this!
You're Welcome!
Is there a reason to use camera tracker in davinci resolve instead in blender? You can do all the stuff inside blender and export for compositing in davinci resolve. I had only few projects using camera tracking in blender OR in davinci resolve.
Nope. I prefer Syntheyes for my 3D tracking but you can use whatever you want.
Thank you very much!
You're Welcome!
I have a problem. When I run the Python Script, the scene is loading fine, but the camera has no Keyframes and the image is not loading correctly. What could cause this problem? Thanks for these incredible Tutorials! Especially the undistorted Workflow Tutorial was exactly what I was looking for :)
You're Welcome! and thanks! The first thing I can think of is that the keyframes are offset. Which will make it not work properly. Check the frame numbers to see if the keyframes are somewhere else and you can move them into place. That is very common, usually it's just one frame but if you have frames starting at something like frame 1000 in syntheyes you wouldn't see them in Blender. The other thing that is very common is what versions of both software you are using. Exports and Import scripts change over time. Let me know if any of that helps.
Un must !!!! what wonderful tutorial !!!!
Thank you! 😊
I know this was said by someone else.... BUT thank you for diving deeper into Fusion, you have cleared up quite a bit of confusion regarding these techniques and concepts...no clickbait amateur hour here...thanks for this decent legit content....you have a new follower... im currently going through the official fusion book and they dont touch on solving track problems like this
Thanks for the follow! I'm glad you like the videos! More to come soon...
Hi, I'm realy interested in the course and will sudgest to my employer to bought it for me. Do you use a lot of plugin (from reactor) are not at all ? And just by curiosity does blackmagic consult you on fusion developpement ?
The core part of the course does not use any reactor plugins. In some of the project based examples we use some, but they are not necessary and we talk about both ways to do it. In the full version of the course some reactor plugins will be added in the reference section in the future.
@@prophetless ok thx a lot. I have no issue using reactor plugins. In fact I appreciate if you use it and introduce them in the course
thank you
You're welcome!
Does this course use TH-cam or are the videos on some other server? I don't know much English and I always turn on subtitles for tutorials, I bet a lot of people from different countries do that. If automatic subtitles aren't generated in courses, then sales won't be as big as they could be.
It's not on the youtube server but there are subtitles for Spanish, French and German. I can add more if there are any other specific languages you are looking for.
@@prophetless I am personally interested in Polish subtitles, but I suspect that subtitles in many other languages would be useful, e.g. Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Indian, etc. It would be necessary to track which countries are most interested in producing special effects. However, there is always a risk that a translation will be used by far fewer people than the work that went into making it.
I am looking into a solution for this. Hopefully soon there will be a lot more languages.
Your paint & object removal course was excellent and your Fusion tutorials are some of the best on YT, so will have to consider this one. Splitting it up into components is a nice idea. Was this made using Resolve 19 (things like intelliTrack?). Also curious if strictly Fusion or any Blender stuff? I don't do very much 3d comping but as usual, that will likely change.
Thanks! I'm glad you are enjoying the course and videos! Yes it is up to date with resolve 19. So things like intellitrack are in there. This is pretty much just Fusion. One of the Real world projects does get into compositing multi pass renders from Blender though.
Would this include project files that you follow along side the training? I love your channel for the quality of information thats provided.
I checked the courses, the project files are included, I should have checked. What does "and Reference" mean in " 4 complete courses in one: Essentials, 2D Compositing, 3D Compositing and Reference"?
Thanks! Yes absolutely! The project files come with the downloads in the course.
The Reference is a an ongoing collection of short videos to help refresh your memory or add more information on nodes and processes. This will continue to grow over time. You can look at the list of videos on the website to get an idea of what kinds of things are being added.
Where is your Instagram ID?
I don't have one yet. Maybe soon!
Looks nice, but the price is compele out of reach for me, since I do not live in a country that pays in USD the value of the money the course here in my country converted in my currency and adding international taxes transactions, it's absurd. but for those blesses to earn their money in USD, if I was one of them, I will sure buy it, even how that I finished my new pc with an RTX 4070 TI Super.
I tried to keep the price down as much as possible. There are standalone options which are significantly less expensive than the Full course. Right now you can get 15% off, I'm sure there will be more sales in the future and maybe some contests.
I've done all the Fusion training on Black Magic's website and passed the certified user test. Is the stuff in your course more advanced than that, or about the same level? Many thanks.
The course covers a lot more than the Black Magic's website course. The course is designed for beginner to intermediate, but we do ultimately get into things like multi pass compositing which is more advanced. The full version of the course will also be constantly growing due to user input.
@@prophetless Sounds great. Thank you 😀
I agree with coffeelover1456, just keep with Davinci Resolve.
I cant move the exported camera movement, everytime i move it it keeps getting teleported back to the origin of the map. Any help?
Thank you
You're welcome
I don't understand yet why those tracking markers are used. If they hadn't been used, it would only have been necessary to use the delta keyer. I don't see the benefits of using tracking markers or in what cases they should be used.
Depends on the situation, every shot is different. Tracking markers can be really helpful some times.
Thank you
You're welcome!
Another great tut Brian. You know production never listens. Our place got a shot with a TV screen, covered in green painter's tape...for keying! It's an attrition war that will never be won. heh
Thanks. I think it's getting better, last time I was on set they actually listened! 😀 Or maybe that was a one off. 🙁
Hey prophetless, i dont understand why we need to be deleting the first steady planar tracker ? doesn't it suppose to hold the frame steady at first ?
Yes it does, but when we did the paint for the cleanup we started getting holes in our paint. That's because the edges of the image can be transparent after it is stabilized in some situations. Removing the first planar tracker and using a still frame instead is just another approach to object removal that you can use if you run into issues like transparent pixels. Around 13:50 it's discussed.
@@prophetless Does that mean, the steady part is actually just for our paint process ? and it needs to be remove either way, because we are going to invert the stabilization ?
To the first question yes. We are stabilizing the video to make it easier to paint. You could track each one of the clone strokes to match the movement but you may find that to be more complicated. On the second question there is no need to remove the stabilized planar tracker(the first one) if you are not getting holes in your paint. A lot of times you will not have that problem. Using a still frame as opposed to a stabilized plate is a possible solution for when you do have those issues(transparent pixels). The draw back of using a still frame is you usually need to add back in grain and may have color variations if the lighting changes in the scene.
not gonna lie this was the best hour spent on a tutorial so far! every tracking tutorial shows you the quick and dirty tracking but now that i know how this node ACTUALLY works i can finally fix some scenes that have been really hard to track! amazing, thank you very much <3
You're very welcome! Glad it was helpful! Comments like yours are what makes it worth it to do these videos. Thanks!
@@prophetless keep up the quality content! you're helping (literally) thousands of people get better every day by sharing what you already know in an understandable and well structured way :)
Thanks! More to come soon.
It's convenient how everything in these tracker tutorials has that green background with black crosses and is moving slowly. What about fast pace tracking - like highlighting a player as they run with the ball in sports analysis like you see them do on TV.
