The World Record Remastered | Command & Conquer: Yuri's Revenge Allied Campaign Speedrun
Part 1/4 (originally)
Finally ran this campaign on my gaming laptop after 3.5 years. I will be posting my best individual mission runs on my gaming channel @lollimegamer12 since getting to this full attempt merited some crazy fast AND LUCKY completions. If there's enough interest, I could make a commentary breakdown video of how I approached each mission, from the numbers to the timings to the RNG (most significant in mission 2).
Also, I apologize for the short pause after completing mission 6. I am currently sick and really had to relieve my tiny bladder from all the fluids I'd been drinking. Funnily enough, that was the fastest I've ever run that mission (and prolly the fastest in the world for that matter).

I have no clue how you come up with these insanely fast, yet funky ways of completing them missions, but I know I wish my wife loved me the way you love tesla troopers.
A combination of learning from other people (glitches and the like) and theorycrafting in the shower! And honestly, I also hope my future SO will love me just as much as I love this game! XD
@@limegamer12 I remember this from commandos - before internet could help like this. It takes a lot more time than the speedrun ;) Lots of trial and error in my case too - but when you finally find the sweet spots, wow. Big pay off. It's sort of like hacking, lock picking. You defeat the original purpose by looking for weaknesses, soft spots, things you can abuse. It takes skill! Well done.
@@limegamer12 I suppose it all started for me with Mario, which had a few shortcuts on purpose, but also just bugs/glitches and some were relatively easy to find out. Sometimes you just have to try weird stuff ;)

It could be the mission setup: on Easy difficulty, a lot of missions even in the Soviet campaign have troops starting with some rank!

@@limegamer12 if you play long versions of the maps, Sub Divide, Weather Alliance, Red Revolution, Polar Storm are just insanely long and satisfying missions for a 2000 game. Especially Red Revolution was insane when as a kid.
@@radec1906 I used to Turtle and then capture every single enemy structure, even rebuilding uncapturable defenses in their exact spots! My only complaint when I did long plays as a kid was that the Soviet campaign didn't offer full tech for both sides even in the last mission, which the Allied campaign did.

Where did the aircraft carrier planes come from in the first mission? They litteraly just spawned in
If Tanya is killed, aircraft carrier reinforcements spawn in from the west. I just spammed the "P" key (select all combat units) to call on the carriers to attack the dominator while they're still out of frame to save time! :>

If it makes you feel any better, it took me hours of repeated experimentation for the most consistent way to pull off that 20-second bit, but even "the most consistent" did not guarantee I would get that when I finally went for full runs! ;>
I just played through Red Revolution and it’s such a pain in the ass to play normally. It’s fun to see someone completely cheese it.
The way he attacked the nuclear power plant with apocalypse seemed glitchy. Pretty sure thats a bug :D

What the hell happens here? how 29:30 ?
Known as the save-load glitch, it is best used with chrono-units to cancel the teleportation stasis time. This means that after I reload that point in time, the chrono-units can instantly perform whatever their next action is instead of waiting from the jump distance! ;P

Wow, didn't realize you could use the waypoint system to infiltrate your own building lol. Would this also work for all the other buildings a spy can get into (barracks, vehicle, refinery, etc)?
In Red Alert 2, yes! However, the refinery wouldn't merit you anything because you're basically stealing your own credits if I'm not mistaken! ;P

Speedrun.com leaderboards don't really care what difficulty you play on, only the time it takes for you to complete a campaign. Because of that, Hard would take a little longer because of certain missions' extra enemy forces composition and the like. If you're interested, I just did a remastered Yuri's Revenge's Allied Campaign on Hard because it actually saves time in one mission over the other difficulties (mission 6).
