    very beautyful! if seen those quite often on amazon but hesitated because I am way to scare to drill holes into the glas. Not sure if its enough for ventilation if the air only comes through the door.

    • @DragonairesClub
      @DragonairesClub 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thankyou you! 😊 If you try to drill holes in that, it will just smash into pieces. The door on its own has more ventilation than most other designs on the market tbh. It also has small gaps between the bars that surround the glass, too 🙂

    I love this terrarium!!! However, I've heard that jumping spiders have trouble sticking to glass, is this terrarium made of glass or acrylic? Does your spood have trouble? I would love to know as this terrarium style is MUCH cuter and cheaper compared to others I've seen. Thanks!

      Thank you so much! 😊 I had a lot of fun making this one. So the spider I put in thrived in this. As long as you have plenty of foliage and sticks for them to get about the entire enclosure, it will be absolutely fine 🙂 x

    How do they breathe wrapped up in tissue and stuffed into a plastic tube? Is it because they are so small that it isn't a concern?

    • @DragonairesClub
      @DragonairesClub หลายเดือนก่อน

      Exactly that. They require such little oxygen, being that they are so tiny that it is not an issue. They often are sent with small prey items and will have made little webs by the time they arrive

    I loved this video it answered so many of my questions about the orchid mantis, I was wondering what type of plants would you recommend for them In a 10gal or 37.85 liter tank? Also what live cultures would you recommend?

    • @DragonairesClub
      @DragonairesClub 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thankyou! Plants wise, I'd recommend Asparagus ferns, Orchids, Peace lilies. Any pretty indoor flower will work. Just ale sure there is a plant light to help them flourish. I tend to go for tropical greys or miniature snow white isopods to keep the soil and plants healthy, too 🙂 x

      It's far too easy to overspend at invert shows 😂 The glass coffin is doing great, and fluffy bum is doing really well in there. The one we bought from the show had the glass cut on the sides and replaced with long ventilated windows. The lid had also been cut to allow some air flow x

I Mean they make them too, right? Because i was talking about this on FB, in a jumper group, and they said they'd never hesrd of it, but jumpers didn't molt into their final molt with sperm already loaded in their pedipalps.

    • @DragonairesClub
      @DragonairesClub 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi! I'm assuming you mean money? the typical cost of a jumping spider here in the UK is around £20-£30's for the spider alone. There are specific places in the UK where you can buy a combination of spider+enclosure and accessories to decorate. - The spider Shop - Spink bugs and bits - New These are two that do the bundles but make sure to also buy a white LED that sits above the enclosure as it is important for these spiders to have a natural light cycle. They also rely on the light to hunt. Care wise involves feeding fruit flies if a small sling and blue bottles if older (Ask the breeder for size and what they are feeding as size differs so much per regius species). Once set up, they pretty much do their own thing and can thrive with minimal interaction. However, if you're like me, I like to make "friends" with all of my pets 😅. Hope this helps 🙂

  • @ilonkameijer1743
    @ilonkameijer1743 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I keep my slings in a super small cup to make it easier for them to find/catch their prey...Why do you keep them in a big cup if I may ask? I'm just curious because I'm pretty new in the hobby, I like to learn different methods (and the why) 😊

    • @DragonairesClub
      @DragonairesClub 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      hey, and thanks for the comment 😄. The size I typically use is 5x5x10cm for the majority of my slings, and I have not found any feeding issues from using this size. Ts can feel vibrations on the webs that they construct, so i drop a food item on the webbing near to them, and they will typically just pounce straight on it. One of the main reasons I use this size is to avoid the unnecessary hopping from cup to cup to cup, which has the potential of stressing the slings out. This way, they can just settle in and grow. My dwarf species, or any slings I receive that are less than 1cm do start in smaller sized housing though... 5x5x5cm or less 🙂. Hope this answers your questions 😁

    @user-yr7xc2ud5d 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Cool video! Interesting to see the differences in colourings/markings. Will the new arrivals all grow to a similar size? How many times will they need to be re-homed along the way? 🤔

    • @DragonairesClub
      @DragonairesClub 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey! Great questions 😊. Alright, so this is something I plan to keep people upto date with as they molt and grow. Different species grow at different rates and dramatically change in appearance as they grow on. I have different dwarf species that will grow to approx 6-8cm... some other terestrial and arboreal that will grow upto and around 12-15cm and one's that will grow to between 22 and 25cm.... so there's some beasts in the collection. Bit they will take years to grow so it will be a slow but rewarding journey 🙂 Some species will grow much faster and will be almost maxed out in a year.... it varies that much 😄
