Python first look my first speed loader reloads in 4 years
First firing of my Python, and first shooting since hand surgery. Way out of practice especially with the speed loaders (henceforth the choice in music... Beck). Trigger pull is about 9# but smooth with a slight back wall right before the hammer falls. Last scenes, the plates were really stuck and needed a couple extra hits to fall.

Got my Hoyt Defiant 34 restrung and dropped from 80# pull to 70# and decided to drop arrow weight to 650 grains. The micro-diameter Victory shafts seem to have good reviews. I went to paper tune and thought I had everything dialed in. Then I had a furl bend and things seemed to go out of tune. Another 1/2 hour and a sacrifice to the arrow gods everything looked good on paper. At that point I wa...

This is my 3rd performance center revolver. Unfortunately, like the previous 2 revolvers it had to go immediately back to Smith Wesson for warranty work. Smith Wesson took care of the problems on the other revolvers, and I am hopeful they will make this good. HOWEVER, this does NOT bode well for their quality control. This was NOT some 200 dollar Hi Point that I purchased. I'm pretty sure the s...

I picked this rifle up a couple months ago. The blue looks good (not great) but we will see after a few seasons of use if it provides the rust protection like my 1949 vintage 336 which my grandfather and dad hunted in all sorts of inclement weather... hardly any rust in spite of the blue being worn down. Brand new to bowhunting. Testing my new bow camera that screws into the bow. The bow is a Diamond Core set at 70#. I've been testing broadheads for some wild boar hunting and want something that has the best chance of penetrating bone in the event of a poorly placed shot. As I am new to using a bow, I'm probably more likely to mess up on placement than a seasoned bowhunter. This was with a 250 ...

Earlier in the day while testing this gun, it fired simply from cambering a round (NO FINGER ON THE TRIGGER). This was a $200 purchase on gunbroker. If you were determined on a hollow point federal hydra shock HSC, Gold Dot, And the XTP bullet loaded by Underwood, Remington ultimate defense full size, plus P Will always open up and are very reliable because police use them. I have been doing 380 ballistics for almost 15 years, I have shot every bullet that exists other than some plus P loads by Underwood and buffalo borer

    Brother you want around that performs and gives you penetration go with Underwood extreme defender and extreme penetrator, those two rounds are the best 380 rounds that exist. Point blank I say that because they are solid and they get plenty of penetration also if you want another solid that's that does perform very well fort Scott munitions mixed TUI ammunition tumble upon impact which basically look like rifle bullets in pistol cartridges

    What's your opinion on the 5 Star Speedloader? Pros? Cons? Does it come into contact at all with the frame at all while loading? Is there jiggle? If so, is it easier or more difficult with the jiggle? Considering buying the range block from them that includes 2 speedloaders, but wanted to get an opinion of someone who's actually used the speedloaders first. (Running the 627 V-Comp .357 myself.)

    • @pps67
      @pps67 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      My overall opinion is favorable. To release the rounds the twist is counterclockwise, unlike most other speed loaders. There isn't contact with the frame, but there IS quite a bit of jiggle, which I feel makes it a bit more difficult than using moon clips.

    I recently bought a 30/30 used for 300 dollars . It had U in the serial number no checkering and Jm on the barrell and i still wondered if I got a Remlin. I did my best research . I think it is a 1961 . Going to have my Instructor check it out next meeting. . I heard Remington had some leftover barrels but i just don't see how they would go that far. It came with a scope. I think I got the real deal but I am paranoid ! I live in Florida and from what i see a lot of people down here don't use Lever Action Rifles . I hope Remington tightens up. Bought a Pump Action 12 Guage from them and it seems fine to me. I started out with a Henry 22 Lr . Henry makes a good rifle but there is that tube thing and I wanted a side loader. Anyway I guess I will soon know whether I got a Remlin or not.

    All you can do with the 380 is mix FMJ ammo with your favorite hollow point. No 380 hollow point is going to penetrate bone all of the time. One thing about alternating FMJ and HP ammo is you are likely to hit the attacker in the same area with all of the shots you fire, especially at very close range. I would not use Critical defense in any caliber of weapon. I tested 125gr critical defense in my 357 mag with a 6" barrel. The bullet over expanded and failed to penetrate to a sufficient depth. Freedom munitions ammo with the 158gr XTP bullet performed much better. FM does a good job of duplicating the Hornady Custom load. The XTP is one sweet shooting bullet. Plus Freedom munitions is priced so you can afford to practice with the ammo you plan to use for SD.

    People seem to misunderstand home defense and self defense. The purpose of either is to stop the threat...not to kill the threat. Killing the threat in either scenario could get you a murder charge, as I've seen it happen before.

    • @billjohnsonseattle
      @billjohnsonseattle 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Darrin Baker BS. Total BS. If someone breaks into your house, you shoot to kill. I've yet to see a murder charge for someone defending themselves from an imminent threat, ESPECIALLY in their own home.

    That bone you used is about twice as thick as any human bone. To say it wouldn't penetrate a human rib is utter nonsense. To those that say a .380 isn't good enough for defensive purposes don't really have any idea what they are talking about. I have seen far better and more realistic testing on the .380 and it is more than adequate enough for deadly use. While its true that certain ammo is better than others. It will certainly get the job done. Look for any round that is an xtp round for .380. Critical defense would not be my first choice but better than nothing.
