A very touching story! I know that you're happy that you stood your ground. I came out at 23, and it was the 1970s, so I think I was pretty brave to do so back then. One more thing: I'm sure you realize by now that "normal" is just a cycle on a washing machine. 😊

I'm getting all these "coming out" videos. I'm 60 years old! Definitely interesting to hear, but I did notice one thing: they're all 10-12 or so years ago. I guess it was a thing those days. So, where are you now?? It would be great to hear where you're at now 11 years after the fact.

Austin, Jesus never had a problem with homosexuality, and his is the only opinion that counts. Stuff in the Old Testament relates to Jews not Christians. When Jesus was baptized by John, he rose from the water no longer a Jew setting the final stage for his crucifixion, Resurrection and foundation for Christianity. There could be no Christianity if Jesus had died a Jew.

Age of consent in many countries is 16- (Western countries.) America's laws are pretty punitive- there was this straight couple having sex on the beach in early or late hours no one around pretty much, covered and now they're on a sex register. Don't let anything get you down. You'll do fine just remember you are young and still learning and you will never learn it all in a lifetime. So make your lifetime the way you you want it to be. I I know been there life is tough. You can do it. Keep in touch if you need to talk.

OK, I'm sorry but this is the most awkward coming out story I've watched on YT. I don't know if you made a longer version but, given how you can't put two sentences together here, I don't think I could take a longer version of you. Sorry. My respect of course for your process, whatever it was, because in here I haven't got a clue.

Congratulations on your courage and fortitude to come out like you did! You're a beacon of Light and an inspiration to others, including me! I 'm quite a bit older than you are, and wished I had fully come out years ago. But in the 1980s and prior, it was much more dangerous to arbitrarily come out for a variety of reasons. To this day I still have one foot jammed in the closet, but I recently came out to two long time close Straight friends, and they were very supportive. You're an angel sent from up above to help others.

Religion is a curse to rational people. We have to survive being around people who succumb to it. It is unfortunate that your parents weren’t able to see that you were more valuable to them than a bunch of mystic “beliefs”. Hope you will find a quality person to enjoy your life with, and create your own happy family.

Check out the Unitarian congregations in Victoria. There are two and you would be most welcome there. Unitarian churches are covenanting congregations with no doctrine or creed. Our members pursue their faith according to their own theological beliefs. Good luck!
