Very cool layout! Can't believe how narrow that toilet closet door is 🙃
Should be the orange color accents.
I need my wing for my camper do sale them .
Nice job! Did you have to redo the wiring on it? I’m trying to find the wiring manual for my 1966 Santa Fe . Have any ideas?
Very nice, bed looks comfortable, large booth. how much?
A very nice job well done thank you
That trailer is in pretty good shape considering that the metal shin , usually on it is a fantastic source for condensation . I think I had one . A 1972 soro Scotty , 13’ long . A little heavey to tow , but the interior was nice if the mice didn’t get in it . Um , years ago , you could have your family ride in it ( like your mother in law ) . The law was changed since to exclude that possibility . No peace for the weary 😮💨.
VERY interesting to see innards of old campers & how they are built. Surprised to see how it rots out from the bottom vs top down 🤔. Good to know for my build. Thanks
How exciting to be rebuilding from scratch. Looking forward to seeing the final results. I'll be watching for sure!
Your videos have reignited my faith of restoring my grandparents old camper. Thank you!
Very nice!!! The only changes I would want is red accents instead of blue and a back on the 1 seat at the dinette.
Hi where are you located in what state will be doing a roadrunner 69 over could a pointer
Hi I have one with layout just like this would like to know what cost is to do this.also where do you get vintage parts please le me know.this is real nice you do great work
Most parts are rescued from the camper. Vintagetrailersupply.com is a great source. Builds of this size average about 6k in materials and about 250 hrs of time.
Thank you Brad for all the tips and knowledge you provide in your videos. We have a 1961 Rustler truck camper that is in mint condition on the inside, as if it was never used. The vents in the kitchen and over the bed area however started to slowly leak over many years of neglect long before we got it for free. We have plans on restoring the entire roof. Your videos give me encouragement and good advice and I appreciate that. Have a great day
Why can't you have inside and outside plywood walls? Then apply the skin.
Appreciate your efforts!!
Did you replace the water tank, or did you clean it out? Would you trust the water coming out of it, with it being so old? I have a 1974 Aspen, and was wondering about this.
This camper got a new ABS water tank. I replace all tanks in rebuilds. After 40+ years of who knows the water sources...yikes :)
Hey Brad! WOW!! It looks fantastic! Really brought back some good memories, recognizing some of the original components of the trailer. You have done an AMAZING job restoring it! Congratulations! - Chris Adsit
Cool video and looks like a fun project. I would like to recommend something to you. Make your videos longer. You've got plenty going on there to make a longer video and TH-cam really punishes short videos these days.
Thanks for the tips!
I am in the middle of restoring my 68 aloha. 15'. I need to redo the panels on the ceiling. It looks like I am going to have to take the skin off and then take the beams out to get to the ceiling. New plywood and then put back together. Does this sound about right? thank you
perfectly correct- from the outside in. Check out can ham trailer or Rob the Rebuilder- lots of detailed videos on the process. @robthe rebuilder
Very cool!
I love what you do, bringing life and beauty back to classic campers. I would love do that, I also have a fascination with teardrop style campers.
Incredible!!!
Where will you be posting for sale?
Typically locally in marketplace. Also cross posted in vintage camper groups. Will be about 12,500 or so depending on some fit and finish needs. Thx.
Hi, what is the approximate cost of these type of RVs you restore/ rebuild
Varies on time and materials. Frame ups average about 200 / 250 hrs and about 5 to 6 in materials, depending on metal pricing and fit n finish requests. Works out an avg of 1500 per linear foot lenght.
What a beauty!! What size and weight?
This one will be about 2100 dry and is 15' (18 with tongue).
My husband and I love your camper! We loved it so much that we picked up a 66 Shasta Compact. It needs alot of work. We cant find aluminum edge rail anywhere online. Can you please let us know where we can find metal edge rail? 😊
It is out about everywhere. Put your email in at vintage trailer supply for the product and move fast once they get more in stock. Good luck!!
Sweet crib❤
Happy dance over here!!
You are a real Champion. Take a bow!

Did you paint that with a brush? Also appears to have some small corrosion holes by the left wheel well.
it was the original skins. A previous owner looks like it was brush painted. We scuffed, primed and repainted with single stage spray.
Nice

I love it.
Great job!
I'd love to see a vid on how you do the roof of these campers.
Those are neat. I had a local guy contact me recently about one he was going to rebuild. I'd never seen one in person before, but i gotta say i like em!
Can you give approximate pricing?
Hi Nicole- full info is in the video description / detail portion with stats and more info. Hello@vintagecamperrescue.com
Wow can’t wait to see how it turns out
Whow, I live in the heart of Amish country here in Ohio, and never heard of these before. NuCamps travel trailers are made right down the road from me in Sugarcreek, are also built by mostly Amish and they to are really well built. Looking forward to the outcome. Subscribed.
Because they never made it lol ,,, this guy talks alot but didnt do any research ....
History (from tin can tourist) They were produced in the 50’s and early 60’s by Martin Metzendorf of West Farmington, Ohio, approximately 10 miles northwest of Warren, Ohio. Martin (my great-uncle) and his wife had the trailers built with Amish laborers, she picked out the interior patterns and colors. They delivered most of the trailers themselves until a delivery accident deprived my great-aunt of her arm. They sold the business in the early 60’s and the trailer was produced for a few more years under the Metzendorf name, I believe they closed the doors in ’63 but I’m not 100% on that. If their is a real interest out there I might be able to piece together some facts from my relatives, but admittedly they’re all a touch fuzzy on events from forty years ago. - Brin Metzendorf
Lil history in my comment below. ❤
I've got a Ward stove out of '56 Cal-Craft that I'm about to start working on, but it is ROUGH. It'll be pretty if I can get it cleaned up though, so fingers crossed. And I also like a white wrap with wooden finished walls; it does brighten things up and feels a tad more contemporary.
If only new RV stove/oven would last as long.
That's a beautiful trailer I love that movie trailers on 67 years old and I love them trailers did a fantastic job on restoring the trailer
day of discovery, I like it. Look forward to the rebuild,
Subscriber here, and will follow this. Love these old can hams.
Looking forward to this becoming a beauty!
How much is her dry weight?
